  • For years we've been tryin to shed that perception of the council worker. It's a fact of life, no matter how hard you do work, someone will always come along and say,"Look at the council bludger!". It's a crying shame this stereotyping. Blokes with pink shirts who are hairdressers are often considered to be effeminate. Wonder if they would have the guts to walk up to Chuck Berry 20years ago and say something like that to him.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

  • I don't know what a mad mick is, possibly some Australian reference to another construction tool, The banjo reference to a shovel must be a little more universal, cause I'm Canadian and have heard it my whole life

  • Call me what you wish, but could anybody tell me what the mad mick and banjo is? I've had this album for a couple years, and could never figure it out! Thanks.

  • @SlimDustyMusic

A Mad Mick is a pick axe - used for digging hard rocky ground.

    A banjo is a shovel.

  • @SlimDustyMusic If I had to call you something else it would be "a bloody good mate" mate.

  • @SlimDustyMusic Mad mick and the banjo = pick and shovel.

  • @SlimDustyMusic madmick = pick ( pickaxe)........Banjo = shovel
