  • Jeff Buckley was hipster before it was cool. :P

  • Does anyone know where I can get this whole gig?

  • @LewieBonnerMusic It's available on DVD in CD Universe

  • The Transformation of Orpheus

O cruel river, lift him up! Do not drown, don't snuff this one's fire...

transform this gentle Orpheus into living light

that joyful heals all our hearts!

Did he reach for musical notes in that Mississippi sun

and fall short in the eddies of derangement and confusion?

Too good to live? Again? How many magic-men of song

Ripped away by jealous devils, in deaths so wrong?

Ah, but he transforms, changes light itself

His soul freed in darkened river-stealth...

  • What is the middle part from? I do not remember it from the Grace version, forgive my stupidity if the answer is simple

  • @skormz10 Just something they added to the live version

  • *sigh

  • Your chords are so freaking nice and you voice is so beautiful, only one of few people that really make me feel in awe from listening to your music

  • 6 minutes and 48 seconds of awesome. First time hearing (I missed Buckley the first time around) and I am absolutely blown away.

  • Those who doesn't love Jeff Buckley doesn't know what love really means.

  • Mamma mia...

  • Reminds me of a dream lover

  • people say i sound like the jeffis of buckley

  • i love jeff more than anyone..

  • fukin' awaesome

  • FUCKING GREAT!!!!!!!!

  • what is "1/13"??

  • @VegaVelecka It's the first song of that gig!

  • @kristapssteinbergs yes, I realized that later )) thanks !

  • @VegaVelecka 1 (the first) of 13 songs. ;)

  • asleep in the sand with the ocean washin over

  • Nice!!!

  • I read that Dream Brother is dedicated to a friend of his who was thinking of leaving his pregnant girlfriend (with twins?). The song is about that abandonment which was very close to the bone for Jeff, for obvious reasons.

Best lines: "Don't be like the one who made me so old, don't be like the one who left behind his name". Chilling stuff.

  • He is my singing idol! If I in my life could only achieve part of what he achieved I would be satisfied.

  • can anybody give me the link to lover, you should've come over video live in chicago? the clearer version? the one uploaded on here is low quality

  • @b0bbbi It was taken down, I'm afraid as it violated some copyright nonsense (Jeff would have hated that!)

I downloaded a bunch of Jeff's videos from YouTube. I'll try and dig it out for you in the next day or two.

  • I don't think there's ever a time when I'm not in a "JBuck phase." I love everything about him and his music. *sigh* This song hypnotizes me and awes me at the same time. The lyrics are fantastic! <3

  • When he signs he doesn't think "I hope I sound good." He thinks "I hope I don't make every one in the audience explode with the awesome power of my voice."

  • I love that he had such a great band of brothers with him. I'm happy that he had friends everywhere who supported him and believed in his visionary music. And though he didn't become world-famous, he knew he was appreciated by the music world--no doubt. He was successful on the levels that count without the hollowness of fame without a unique gift that so many "stars" have.

  • He's amazing. Did you guys know there are 3 movies coming out about him? I didn't think he was THAT famous. In fact, no one I know really knows who he is. I'm happy about these "biopics" as long as they do him justice.

  • please upload lover from this event if you have it. the other version on youtube is poor quality.

  • He was magnificent , it tears me up to think i will never see him perform live .

    What a loss , RIP Jeff .

  • could you reload the "kick out the jams" part 'coz the video was blocked in my country.... thx so much

  • this telecaster is so fkcing magical !!!

  • i remember the 1st time i saw this concert on dvd (10 years) as well as i remember exactly the 1st time i listened to Grace (16 years ago)

    RIP

  • I find it sad that, as a woman.. classically trained as a vocalist, I can't hit the notes that our beautiful, iconic Jeff could with the same tone and feeling. He truely was a legend, imbued with the talent and spirit of his father.. even without the influence of Tim.

  • Jeff Buckley is beyond all words.

  • absolutely amazing....one of my favorite songs. chilling.

  • Jeff's insanely beautiful voice and music got me through 4 deaths of loved ones. He haunts me but it's a good haunting, I love him and his band.

  • @1221solstice2012 Me too.

  • Mistery White Boy album :D

  • Always loved him since hearing about him! DEFINITELY one of THE BEST bands EVER!!!! Later...

  • This happened 2 days after I turned three. Why couldn't it have happened today instead? WHY???

  • Goddammit. Jeff died ten days before I was born. I can't believe I've been born into a world with the likes of Rhianna and Justy Beber. I play guitar and occasionally sing and I would actually give up everything just to have the smallest bit of Jeff's talent. Fuck my generation. Being 14 sucks.

  • @Funeralapolis Thank god people from my generation were lucky to grow up with the kurts, Jeffs, laynes and shannon hoons of the world had the good forward thinking to pass them on to future generations!

There is a place for the Biebers of the world. They are there to remind us that every 15 years a REAL musical revolution takes place and is even more appreciated after one being absent for so long. Mark my words..music is almost due for a golden age of TRUE talent. fk ur thumbs up don't want em.

  • @heyave Woah watch out people, we've got a badass over here!

You're a dick bro. What the fuck makes your music taste, or musical idols any better than anyone else? TBH, if you're lumping Kurt Kobain in there with music to pass onto future generations I can't take anything you say seriously.

One true Scotsman is bullshit. What the fuck is true talent? You've got that extra knowledge have you? YOU know what it is?

Fuck you and your bullshit prejudice. Fuck you and your bullshit ideas.

  • @TheModCon top 3 dumbest and more irrelevant comments I have seen on youtube.

You can pick up your award at your cousin/aunt/mother's house you inbred fool.

  • @heyave Oh the irony of having the top comment

  • @imhamish Even funnier is how that modcon invalid took what I said as an insult or as me having a musical opinion turns me into a badass.

Wait...it gets better. He obviously knows Kurt KKKKKobain's work well enough to judge it seeing as he has the ability to spell his name correctly. No sarcasm I promise.

  • @heyave -.- missing EVERY point. Badass is taking the piss that you're SOOOO hardcore you don't want thumbs up. You must be tough! You even SWORE about it!

Causal link isn't causal, a typo would say nothing on my knowledge on his MUSICAL endeavours. And anyway, following your logic still doesn't work. I can't spell your name but I still know that you're a KKKKKunt.

It isn't an opinion, you push it as objective truth, makes you a dickhead :)

The irony that your top comment is retarded ^^

  • @Funeralapolis come on..everyone is talented in something. and if you love to play the guitar and to sing and you share that with your life I can imagine you can make a good thing. I just think you have to give up wanting so badly to be like him cause you can just be yourself.

  • one of few actually good songs by buckley. This and grace and two or three others. Hallelujah is the most overrated crap ever... Well I also loved it when I was a kid, then I grew up and realized conans version is much less juvenile ;)

But this is his best song by far, I really enjoy it :)

  • Cohens that is haha.

  • @mikaelhs Juvenile? that is an odd comment. It's just Jeff his character is free and child like thats who he was so it comes out in everything he did. I don't see the need to criticize people for being themselves?

  • close your eyes...............

  • This guy = AMAZING...

And I'm only 16... I'm addicted to his music!

  • the only one !!! love him so much...

  • it's surprising that to this day not many people know of this man, but at the same time think it's absolutely beautiful to be given a chance, as somebody who deeply admires his work, to share it in this way.

  • @dailyselfies Couldn't have said it better. I hope his popularity stays that way.

  • Amazing Artist

  • Jim Morrison with range!

  • I think another band covered this song

  • I actually liked the drummer, he also seemed to be really good

  • @blazeablunt4200 Matt Johnson is great -- check out his website, he is still rocking on and in NYC.

  • I bleed buckley

  • I only wish I was there at the time!!

  • it hurts.

  • Didier drogba in white

  • Oh Jeff why do you do this to me? x

  • @TheModCon, i said that as the phrase goes, of course they also are impressive :)

  • 5:05

  • jeff would be huge today if he lived. his voice and songwriting was amazing. his first and only full album blew me the fuck away. you can't deny shit like this.

  • This is a very underrated song off of one of the best albums of all time.

  • As the song progresses he takes off like a 747 and in the process drags his band, the audience and the venue up with him to incredible heights. Absolutely amazing.

  • "Dont be like the one who left behind..his name."

"Cuz they're waiting for you.. like I waited for my Urn?.. No body ever came..."

"Dont be like the one who made me so old,.don't be like the one who left behind his name.."

"Cuz they're waiting for you... like I waited for my Urn?...."

    "No body everrrrRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr.rr.rr..r.r..r.r .r...rr..rr....r...."

Epic scream of passion & enigmatic lyrics.

    Genius.

  • wow fuck the five of u

  • ...shame Jeff's 'wailing skat' is missing from he start of this - he shows amazing feel, soul and artistry an' it's one of my favourite ever Jeff moments... :0 (. ps. If anyone wants to see it - I have the DVD so can stick it up here... :0 ).

  • Man, his lips at 3:44 are pretty intense!

  • 5 people have sand in their vagina's.

  • It's like Muse, if Matt Bellamy wasn't an egotistical dumbass. At least, that's the impression I'm getting based on this one song, but I haven't really started listening to Jeff Buckley yet

  • @superexcellent12 It's like muse, if Matt Bellamy could sing twice as good as himself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Moxin667 lol

  • @superexcellent12 give him a chance, matt is a complete tosser out of touch from the world, but jeff was just feeling the music

  • Thank You, Jeff your voice has opened my heart again..If anyone is reading this remember the anniversary of his death is on 5/29 lets request his music on the radio lets get his music out to others to discover his amazing GRACE.

  • Why do all the good die young......?

  • @Kristopful But the young die good.

  • why did you cut out the front??vocal range.u dumass

  • @xfugitx I think it may be a way of stopping the performance being "removed" because of copyright issues. A complete version could be removed,.. like yesterday.!

Dont be so quick to judge such issues..unless you have uploaded something yourself and had it removed.

  • 5 people are clearly devoid of ears.

  • DB, I'll never forget!

  • His Dad was pretty impresive aswell : )

  • I'm a guy and a huge fan of Jeff's and I can tell you that the day I find a girl who's as passionate about Jeff's music as I am is the day I fall in love.

  • @cbhitman1 I would qualify if I weren't probably old enough to be your mother---I found him in 2010 and have been entangled in his web ever since. I search the web for new versions and collaborations with other musicians. Watch the one of Dido's Lament where a conductor, I think, who didn't know the American singer's work, says that Jeff's vocal on the classic aria showed the conductor that he himself knew nothing about music. That is unheard -of! Good luck with the girl search!

  • @cbhitman1 You will find the right girl!!! have faith dude

  • @cbhitman1 mee loll

  • @cbhitman1 I got my ex LOVING Buckley.

  • @cbhitman1

    here I am!!!

  • @cbhitman1 I'm a girl and absolutely love Jeff! Maybe even more so than you ;) :P

  • @stundee I'll meet you at the next Jeff Buckley tribute show!! wherever it is ha

  • @cbhitman1 there are plenty of girls who adore jeff .... :)

  • @cbhitman1 You've found her.

  • @cbhitman1 So true fellow Buckley fanatic.

  • @cbhitman1 I couldn't agree with you more and i am the luckiest man in the world to have her

sorry men, perfection is already taken

  • @cbhitman1 2 day ago I got a tattoo... off course is a jeff's song!!! hahaha

  • @cbhitman1 I am a girl and I love Jeff Buckley (his voice and music, and personality)

  • Saw his show at Great American Music Hall in San Francisco in the '90s. Amazing. Maybe the best performer I've seen. I cried when he died.

  • I'm 53. Heard alot of powerful Blues, Soul & Classical music. But when i heard this version of "Dream Brother" on the 'Mystery White Boy" album....I was blown away. It was so powerfull the tears were streaming down my face...even after 20 plays. It never fails to move me to near chocking....Still the same now. I have to say Jeff buckley is the most emotive singer I have ever heard. Period.

  • @Kristopful I'm 54 and I grew up on all of the great rockers and Motown, and I agree with you 100% -- 'emotive' is exactly it.

  • @Kristopful i love jb and richard manuel as well

  • @negativecreepx creepgirl ya when I first saw him it was live in Austin, Tx @ waterloo rec in 94' and yes darlin I was intrigued by his looks, not in a romantic way cause I'm not gay. @ that time everyone in my circles were digging him. That's great you love him for his music, me to. You're offended? Introduce me to the person who has gone through life without be offended. Get over it, I don't know you so why worry about my comment it wasn't meant to be rascist, sexist or any other ist.

  • If I could go back in time and change one event, Butterfly Effect be damned, I would keep Jeff alive.

  • @silverwheel Ever think.. Maybe.. He was, like, Okay with dying?

  • I heard and feel in love with his music way before I ever saw what he looked like..... to all you dudes who think woman like him because he is "good lookin"...yes, woman can be as shallow as men in the "check em' out" department .... anyways- he WAS good looking, so WAS his father, big deal, it's their MUSIC is what was amazing! So how's them apples? ADIOS!

  • @HeidiIvy how's them apples HeidiIvy? Juicy and delicious just the way they shood be!

  • "Don't be like the one who made me so old. Don't be like the one who left behind his name." ....wow. That is GOOD stuff. Love this song!

  • @weepingguitar23 Agreed man........... agreed

  • read the biography DREAM BROTHER------I love love love these buckleys........

  • i want to see the five people who dislike this video/song. what does distract you men? if there is more impressive further song or singing style, make us known...

  • @bussande Um, as much as this song is amazing, plenty by The Smiths, and I know JeffB would've agreed with me on that one

  • a star in the sky

  • Mister Jeff Buckley was one in a million

  • @raymondvanputten So much more rare.

  • My buddy asked if I could've been any musician in his prime for one year. I thought Robert Plant, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix,Paul McCartney Stevie Ray Vaughn. I finally told him Jeff Buckley he gave me a hard ass high five that left my hand stinging soon he became my BEST friend cause he got it!

  • @nat00ben06 nice....sadly I've yet to meet someone who "got It"....Although I have friends who admit he was good, they just think it's weird that I have this spiritual devotion to his music. Ha oh well. The day I find a woman who loves Jeff Buckley like I do is the day I fall in love.

  • @cbhitman1 Amen brother their some out there....of course there is but I'm floatin on that same cloud. Jeff passed to young I wonder if the chicks dug him because of his unbelievable, undiscribible talent or because that thought he was a good looking guy. The one that says talent goes to the top of my list.

  • The real legend from the 90's... Mr. Jeff Buckley

  • please come back !!!! >.<

  • Yeah, now I can tell, Muse have been really inspired by Jeff, thank God...

  • Vocals and guitare are of course awesome, but drums ans bass are fucking awesome in this song and give sucha particular atmosphere... Fucking awesome !

  • Angel with human skin.

  • i think, if i had the chance to prevent one musician from dying at a young age, i would choose jeff out of all the great artists that left this world much too early.

i belive that he would have created soooo much good music, if he was still alive

and in addition, i could have seen him live -.-

  • Echoes of the Doors on this

  • I'll keep dreamin, I'll keep listening

  • Jeff's music is ethereal. It has kind of an effervescent quality to it. That may sound weird but its the only way I can describe it. It's like an angel singing.

  • @renthead15 'effervescent' is my favourite word.

  • Look at the bass player at 1:19, you see him thinking: "how can anybody be so damn genious??"

  • @langeneddy

    Lmfao! and he was right.

  • Look at the bass player at 1:19, you see him thinking: "how can anybody be so damn genious??"

  • "asleep in the sand with the ocean washing over." The last line of his only full album and it depicted his death..

  • @yankeesfan465 He also refers to drowning in Grace and Nightmares By The Sea. Considering these references, and much of his other lyrical content, it almost makes me wonder if maybe he wanted to drown...no matter what the truth is, it is a tragic loss. Jeff Buckley will be always missed and never forgotten.

  • @yankeesfan465 I've heard that that line may be a reference to his father's ashes being scattered at a beach. Someday soon, I'll read the book Dream Brother about Jeff and Tim. I'm so enthralled by the family's unique gifts..Hope the movie that's in the works will do them justice, though unless it's a documentary how could it?

  • Jeff - words cannot express. I was at this concert. A great loss to the current history of music. He was a poet.

  • really wished I could have seen him live!this is amazing!

  • It saddens me JB is no longer with us making great music. :(

  • Genius everything right here folks.

  • why does this video have a dislike button?

  • @Maynard0504 Because there seems to be 5 deaf people out of 881.

  • @Maynard0504 so true!

  • @Maynard0504 for JB's shirt maybe? i otherwise don't see why

  • @actioncock well it was the 90's

  • Ug, I can hear compression artefacts.

  • @alman53 Who cares! Everyone has their own unique sound...do you have albums that have sold? Maybe you sound amazing too. Life is too short. Appreciate our differences.

  • @andy22568 WTF? It's not a criticism of him, I'm just saying it sounds a bit wank in Youtube quality.

  • @alman53 I know what you mean.. unfortunately this dvd does not have the best sound or image quality, but it is the only footage of Jeff that the fans have access =/

  • I love this so freakin much! His mouth at 3:40 reminds me of patrick from Spong Bob Square Pants hahaha. Don't ask why.

  • 3:33 : awesome

  • God called up one of his best masterpieces when Jeff Buckley died.

  • I wish you had the intro to this song where he basically warms up his voice going from deep voice to his falsetto...so amazing

  • @cbhitman1 thats not a warm up deep voice to head voice would be a warm up not deep voice to falsetto

  • @hefra344 I'm not an expect vocals by any means so what exactly is an example of Jeff singing in head voice?

  • @cbhitman1 the high singing at the end of Grace or Lover you should've come over

  • I wasn't born.

    Well, 17 days after, I was. :)

I really really like Jeff Buckley. His mother has the same name I have.

    He's dead on May 29, 1997, I'm born on May 30, 1995.

(Oh and sorry for mistakes, I'm french and I'm only 15...)

  • The emotion in his voice gives me goosebumps.

  • Why has it been seen as spam????

It is a civil comment, please!!!!

  • I was 9... dang, I should have been born about 10 years earlier...

  • @supeultramegaunknown Yeah...i was 4

  • @CargadosCarajos Yeah I was seventeen and it was great!!!!!!

  • why...

  • why...
