@studentpilotfsx62 There is free flight, Missions, challenges and hunting for aero caches. And for the lesson, There is a mission which tells you exactly how to use the planes.
@Xplaneflyer10 I think the biggest problem with this is there wont be enough action to keep gamers happy and not enough realism to keep us sim-pilots happy. I guess taking fsx a stage further on was to much like hard work so MS have cobbled together this instead.

I have fsx and lots of addons but this game is fun and amazing..bush flying the stearman in hawaii....wow..its not like fsx but its some what better ..no lag ..for stock scenery is amazing.. the sun effect on the clouds are awesome..the planes texture are crazy..VC its insane.. like being there ..Can't wait to see whats going to be in the market place in the future ..they may sale a PRO package for real simulation. This game has the potential to be a fantastic flight sim.

@FsimulatorX What?!? I have dual core 1.6 ghz CPU and overclocked nvidea Geforce 8400GS GPU(watercooling, noiseless cooling). It's not the standard GPU in my pc (the other one is burned, because the fan fell off --'), but one from ASUS, noiseless cooling. The watercooling is just a kit. I can overclock the CPU for example at 2.0 ghz, but it's the ultimate limit, core temperature reaches 65 degrees when playing high quality games. HELP ME :p
@ienes2 No I meant you need a new CPU if you need a new GPU coz the CPU needs to support the GPU in its power to make the GPU work on highest possible rate.

Does anyone else notice that they are only showing off small prop planes and the only place we've seen so far is Hawaii? I'm not quite sure, but I get the feeling this isn't going to be a real flight simulator game where you can fly anywhere in the world like you could in the past. I'm sure this game will be great, but it will be a bummer if it turns into a "pilot wings" style game where you're confined to the island of Hawaii needing to perform various tasks/missions..
@03chrisv Microsoft would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did that, they will lose credibility with the flight sim world and would never get it back. It'll be 'the world' I'm sure, with varying levels of detail... IMHO...

FSX is crap. Its not CPU dependent, it is CPU LIMITED! If you are a Windows 7 user access your Resource Monitor in flight. FSX, even at high settings, cannot use more than 3 gigs of RAM and will not use more than ~50% of your quad core CPU. Secondly, it does a horrible job of allowing for multiple undocked screens as you lose ~15 FPS per screen. SO..undock your radio or GPS to another monitor and you go from 40 FPS to 10. FS9 however does a great job in multi-monitor apps. See my website!!!!
i hate how they do this... i know its all "marketing techniques" to only show a few planes and areas etc and reveal them slowly, but i dont give a shit i just want to see some of the commercial jets and big city airports.
This will be optimised. This is how I think of it: FS2004 is like Windows XP with it being the best FS so far and it is still having add-ons developed for it. FSX was like Windows Vista- Terrible performance but looked nice. FLIGHT will be the Windows 7 of FS's, just an Improvement of FSX like 7 was over Vista.

Do you think a single AMD 6870 will be able to handle Microsoft Flight when it comes out or will I need a second card?(by handle i mean run the game completely maxed out at 1080p with antialiasing) 2. That looks so awesome, especially that sun and shadow casting inside the cockpit. Also the scenery looks awesome.
I"m not gonna care about the airplanes to be honest. MS should just spend as much time to scenery, graphics and performance tuning as possible, and let the airplane producing over to PMDG, LevelD and all those other developers. They can try to make a 737 or Airbus A320, but I'm sure it will be just as bad as in FSX. They shouldn't waste there time on that.
personally i dont think this looks much better than FSX...with proper video making software, im sure FSX can look just as good...but anyways, graphics are not always the most important thing..i hope they re-worked the physics and plane characteristics.
I have to be honest, the flight sim community is mostly full of whiney boring brats who do nothing but moan. I'll be fucking loving this game regardless of whether or not you can see moisture particles form in the clouds.
@SavannahPhotographic Trust me, there's alot more to moan about than moisture particles. FSX was rushed to market, is still buggy, and has major performance issues due to bad programming. Its great on a single monitor for gamers like yourself but for real pilots, home cockpit builders and professional builders who use the sim for real training the expectations are much higher for many good reasons. The next rev. needs better CPU / GPU utilization mainly for multi-monitor applications.

A game focusing on the BEAUTY and marvel of flight, instead of focusing on pressing 298 buttons and doing 30 minute pre-flight checks. A perfect blend between sim and accessibility that irons out the parts that arent fun, and simply lets people of all skill levels just FLY and enjoy it.

I personally am not getting MS Flight because I JUST! got a computer that can run FSX at not great but good FPS at the beginning of this year in 2011 but I purchased my copy of FSX early 2007 months after the game was released (v_v).

Here are my noticed changes:
1. Ground Sceneries such as mountains now has shadows that affects the Simobjects.
2. Shadows INSIDE the cockpit
3. Better ground texture quality.
4. Tree movements.
5. Water reflections.
6. much realistic fogs
P.S. I didn't notice any changes for the Clouds... :(

FSX is crap. Its not CPU dependent, it is CPU LIMITED! If you are a Windows 7 user access your Resource Monitor in flight. FSX, even at high settings, cannot use more than 3 gigs of RAM and will not use more than ~50% of your quad core CPU. Secondly, it does a horrible job of allowing for multiple undocked screens as you lose ~15 FPS per screen. SO..undock your radio or GPS to another monitor and you go from 40 FPS to 10. FS9 however does a great job in multi-monitor apps. See my website!!!!

This will be optimised. This is how I think of it: FS2004 is like Windows XP with it being the best FS so far and it is still having add-ons developed for it. FSX was like Windows Vista- Terrible performance but looked nice. FLIGHT will be the Windows 7 of FS's, just an Improvement of FSX like 7 was over Vista.

Jk about previous comment. I got a few questions. Do you think a single AMD 6870 will be able to handle Microsoft Flight when it comes out or will I need a second card?(by handle i mean run the game completely maxed out at 1080p with antialiasing) 2. Will Flight continue to cater to both enthusiasts and people new to simulators like the previous games or will it be way more casual? If anyone can answer these questions please reply or message me.

That looks so awesome, especially that sun and shadow casting inside the cockpit. Also the scenery looks awesome.
I"m not gonna care about the airplanes to be honest. MS should just spend as much time to scenery, graphics and performance tuning as possible, and let the airplane producing over to PMDG, LevelD and all those other developers. They can try to make a 737 or Airbus A320, but I'm sure it will be just as bad as in FSX. They shouldn't waste there time on that.

personally i dont think this looks much better than FSX...with proper video making software, im sure FSX can look just as good...but anyways, graphics are not always the most important thing..i hope they re-worked the physics and plane characteristics.

I have to be honest, the flight sim community is mostly full of whiney boring brats who do nothing but moan. I'll be fucking loving this game regardless of whether or not you can see moisture particles form in the clouds.

@SavannahPhotographic Trust me, there's alot more to moan about than moisture particles. FSX was rushed to market, is still buggy, and has major performance issues due to bad programming. Its great on a single monitor for gamers like yourself but for real pilots, home cockpit builders and professional builders who use the sim for real training the expectations are much higher for many good reasons. The next rev. needs better CPU / GPU utilization mainly for multi-monitor applications.

A game focusing on the BEAUTY and marvel of flight, instead of focusing on pressing 298 buttons and doing 30 minute pre-flight checks. A perfect blend between sim and accessibility that irons out the parts that arent fun, and simply lets people of all skill levels just FLY and enjoy it.

@SavannahPhotographic its not only the graphical presentation, its also about secrets, easter eggs, hidden items and the lot.i remember a ps2 game called sky odyssey. there where airports where you could find parts to build a bonus prototype aircraft. now i know that sounds a bit on the arcade side, but i would love this(and im hoping for some sort of career).

@SavannahPhotographic seriously im pretty sure its gonna be almost impossible to make it possible to actually see moisture particles form in the clouds. but it would be nice to be able to see the rain droplets hitting your windshield and the wipers actually wiping away the water.

@SavannahPhotographic well good on you for that..but the people who you say 'moan', you fail to see are the ones that actually mean progress. If you didnt hear any feedback, then FS wouldnt look much better than it did 10 years ago. And the very truth of it is, that they have been pitifully behind. Most games now are at a level which we never thought possible, yet FS has produces nothing. If no one complained about that..then Id be more concerned, it would mean no one gave a shit.

@SavannahPhotographic Ps. on that note, if it wasnt for the after market guys like FTX/Fullterrain and Aerosoft etc..And REX who do weather etc. This game would not ever have been worth it. Don't try to slander people just because they want progress. Most of the flight simmers are devoted and were there from the start. Microsoft owe the community that has made them MILLIONAIRES over the years something a little more.

Fsx was cpu dependant.if you check gpu usage its %30-35 maximum.Please Ms use those damn Gpu shaders this time.

I think I will buy it, all things built-in are improved so much so that i don't have to purchase too much model planes, airport, etc.
ms flight saved a lot of complicated work, made it easier for a lazy guy like me

I personally am not getting MS Flight because I JUST! got a computer that can run FSX at not great but good FPS at the beginning of this year in 2011 but I purchased my copy of FSX early 2007 months after the game was released (v_v).

@onlymymiku i do, it will mean there's a lot better quality, i have spent 20k on this computer and have nothing decent to throw at it, sick of game manufacturers dumb-ing down games to work on rubbish bin computers around a grand or less.
