I remember watching this with my dad. I was watching T.V guide to see what was on and he saw that it was on and he was like "Hey the ruins, let's watch that." This was the first movie I ever watched that made me cover my eyes. Besides maybe one of those Saw movies but still...it totally freaked me out! The worse part for me was when they had to cut that guys legs off! If you're looking for a movie that will freak you out...watch this!

If you read the book you'd probably understand a lot more about whats going on. When movies are based on books they tend to leave alot out because they are usually aimed at people that read the book and also if you put everything in the movie thats in the book the movie would be 10 hours long.

@olgakitz Yeah the book is by scott smith i think. The plot is actually kinda creepy and unique. Only some movies based on books are stupid. But shutter island, gone baby gone, jaws, jurassic park, the girl next door, the green mile, the shawshank redemption and alot more books have good movies based on them. I guess it depends on who directs and produces them. books are generally scarier and gorier than movies because the content of a book is more up to the author and not rating associations.

So, she dies, we just didn't see it.

Also, the alternate ending, she dies & is buried in a cemetery, an old man is walking around and sees one of the flowers growing over her grave and making a screeching noise. So, she ended up spreading it.
