  • @apopkasss Hello, my husband is from Tanzania, can you tell me how you cook it???

  • @MsBigtatas heat ghee + oil in a pot, add cinnamon sticks, cardamon pods, whole peppercorns, salt, cloves with 2 heaped tbs garlic paste, add sliced onions DONT BROWN THEM, right after add your boiled meat with bone pieces. add 1 cup of fresh stock, 1 cup water and boil. add half cut 3 potatoes, boil. add one huge cup of washed and soaked rice drained. mix and cover. stir in btw and low heat until rice super dries. oven bake pot 20 mins. serve

  • nice, but this is not pilau.

  • Looks yummy! But no way, this is not Tanzanian OR east african, this is nigerian pilau ma'am. As the previous commenters have stated in Swahili, there are different ways of making pilau but I have never heard of coconut milk in pilau anywhere in East Africa. Coconut rice is something else that we love but no, this is your own version. Looks very yummy though. Pilau is like jollof rice; different cooks disagree on the method but there are some things you know don't go in it.

  • @chnsh @annah294 @kwemishuza73 This is our adaptation of the delicious East African Classic and it tastes equally delicious! Recipes differ from region to region in all of Africa but there is no denying the great food from our great continent. Thanks for watching and more importantly for your comments.

  • Our African Oprah!

  • coconut? ehhh i dont remember it in pilau... maybe im wrong

  • @drewefx i think everyone's version is a little different. a lady from tanzania told me that it can depend on where in east africa you come from. for example people, she said people from the coast use coconut milk in pilau while she does not. she added that she actually likes it the taste of pilau with the milk, but has never tried it herself. (pilau actually reminds of coconut rice we cook in sierra leone.)

  • delicioussss

  • yummy!!!!!!
