Okay you are getting yourself into a can of worms here.

Only Rockwell front axles are in demand because they steer the rear tandems are not worth anything.

Getting parts in Canada will be next to impossible everything has to come from the USA which means expensive shipping.

Swapping an engine into the truck is going to be expensive the 5.9 Cummins is too small. A International DT466 would work better. You will have troubles fitting anything to that 5 speed transmission.

@Graveltrucking I wouldn't even get involved owning one of those, I know one guy in my area built one up it cost him a fortune, he ended up taking a huge loss on the truck when he sold it. Truck had a repower with a L-10 Cummins. These trucks don't have very good braking power you need to spend time and convert the brakes to air more expense.

The only thing that POS is worth is scrap metal, cut it up and haul it away for scrap.

you should get some 54" Michelin xl tires, a smaller steering wheel, and a 24v cummins for the truck and don't forget 10" deisel stacks

Don't rip off one of the axles it just lowers the payload capacity and increases the gear ratio

My buddy has one its awesome but his is diesel. I use it all the time for hualing fire wood home. The looks you get when you drive one is pretty cool not to mention if all the axles are locked in you can easly drive over a car. Dont be played with tho dispite how big and HD these things are they dont go for a lot my buddy bought his for 4,000 usd and its in better shape then that one(as far as i can see) If that new oem engine is still good from sitting out I wouldnt go any higher than 5,500

those are 5 ton axles, they are worth much more than $1000, try $3000 all cleaned up, so ya could make a profit on parts & scrap. Or you could fix it all up and sell it for $11,000. Some 46 " Michelin XZL tires would look good on it and keep it road legal.

M54's have the turning radius of a train,guzzle gas,45-50 mph top speed and weigh too much for off road fun.Does it have hydro-boost steering(mandatory)?Not enough gears and wrong ratios for 5.9 a cummins retrofit.You will have fun with it till your wallet is empty...offer scrap price or walk.Not much demand for 1950's non air brake 5-ton axles.Buy an m35 with a multifuel engine and you can run it off just about anything and tow it with a rollback if it breaks(m35 about 13k pounds).
