Like it or not, commodity-based currencies are not nearly as easy to control as fiat currencies when fiat currencies are propped up by strict legal tender laws and national income/property/corporate/payroll/sales taxes. With a fiat currency, they can steal from everyone simultaneously via inflation. I doubt they will ever want to give that up.

The Constitution doesn't prohibit anyone from issuing a piece of paper (backed by whatever) and introducing it into exchange. It can't make them legal tender, but it can allow them to circulate. Constitution nowhere prohibits them from choosing whatever medium of exchange suits them.
The constitution doesn't say you can print money that strongly resembles federal reserve notes. The constitutions also doesn't say that you can intentionally rip off low-paid cashiers in the name of fighting big government.

Actually we went off the gold standard because instead of silver certificates the US paper currency was gold certificates and people were going into the banks and asking to redeem paper money for gold. Gov't said this is bad and we want the people to hold paper and not gold and for years you could be put into prison for having a $20 gold piece issued by the US. The act required every US citizen to turn in the gold they held. Much like weapons confiscation will require in the future.

So what, people lost their money in banks prior to FDR and the FDIC. Certainly when banks were not regulated and not auditted. There was a run on the banks during the Great Depression. Most people lost most of their savings (if not all of their savings) during the depression.
1. The Fed caused the Great Depression, 2. The Constitution only gives the power to the federal government to COIN money, not print money, 3. The reason for this is that COINS traditionally have real value b/c they're made of precious metals, which brings me point #4, 4. The Constitution is clear that only gold and silver can be legal tender, 5. While the Constitution does give the federal government the power to COIN money it does not restrict others from doing it as well.
I don't think it's really an issue for the President, because under a Ron Paul administration things would fall down to a state level; so it would be the states that pass legislature on that.

I believe his stance is simply not to over-react. We have dealt with one environmental scare after the next for decades...in the 70s, it was global cooling where a new ice age was coming, and then it was the world is over-populating and resources are running out...etc etc.. If we force heavy regulations on companies here, they will simply pack up and move to China even faster, so have have to be careful and not over-react in a knee jerk fashion.

Like it or not, commodity-based currencies are not nearly as easy to control as fiat currencies when fiat currencies are propped up by strict legal tender laws and national income/property/corporate/payroll/sales taxes. With a fiat currency, they can steal from everyone simultaneously via inflation. I doubt they will ever want to give that up.

The Constitution doesn't prohibit anyone from issuing a piece of paper (backed by whatever) and introducing it into exchange. It can't make them legal tender, but it can allow them to circulate. Constitution nowhere prohibits them from choosing whatever medium of exchange suits them.

However, taxation IS permitted per the US Constitution. Simply because an individual's interpretation of a law doesn't suit their opinion of it does not excuse that individual from abiding by it. Actually we went off the gold standard because instead of silver certificates the US paper currency was gold certificates and people were going into the banks and asking to redeem paper money for gold. Gov't said this is bad and we want the people to hold paper and not gold and for years you could be put into prison for having a $20 gold piece issued by the US. The act required every US citizen to turn in the gold they held. Much like weapons confiscation will require in the future.

Well for one, he is starting to soften his rhetoric about the Fed.
Secondly, he is very alone in the senate and increasingly visible in the eyes of the coporate elite. (The real "we the people")
It's not a matter of corruption in the Fed, but more the corruption of middle-class America's perception of reality.

The powers that be are afraid of Ron Paul. They would crush all opposition to maintain control, and foster an illusion of freedom and liberty where little remains. He is a threat of truth to the Federal Reserve, the North American Union, Social Security surplus theft, and many other rice bowls working in violation to the Constitution.
The American political process is being manipulated by the media and government. They have pulled Ron Paul from the NH debate; they raided the Liberty Mint.

not pulled, but not invited by fox... yet. New hampshire GOP contacted Fox & registered its intent to withdraw support of the event if Paul is not included, so maybe. It may be time to show Fox what it feels like when America flexes her muscle boycotting them and their sponsors for a couple of months. it would only do them a world of good and I know I'd sleep so much better knowing that they finally get it.

Start the video and then press pause. By doing this the entire video buffers up. After a minute or so press play and it should proceed without interruption. YouTube doesn't have enough servers so most people are having this problem.

So what, people lost their money in banks prior to FDR and the FDIC. Certainly when banks were not regulated and not auditted. There was a run on the banks during the Great Depression. Most people lost most of their savings (if not all of their savings) during the depression.

1. The Fed caused the Great Depression, 2. The Constitution only gives the power to the federal government to COIN money, not print money, 3. The reason for this is that COINS traditionally have real value b/c they're made of precious metals, which brings me point #4, 4. The Constitution is clear that only gold and silver can be legal tender, 5. While the Constitution does give the federal government the power to COIN money it does not restrict others from doing it as well.

I don't think it's really an issue for the President, because under a Ron Paul administration things would fall down to a state level; so it would be the states that pass legislature on that.
However, isn't the real cause of climate change that people are unwilling to change their lifestyles, rather than a lack of action by the President?

I believe his stance is simply not to over-react. We have dealt with one environmental scare after the next for decades...in the 70s, it was global cooling where a new ice age was coming, and then it was the world is over-populating and resources are running out...etc etc.. If we force heavy regulations on companies here, they will simply pack up and move to China even faster, so have have to be careful and not over-react in a knee jerk fashion.

What you are saying, is that you can't support sombody who won't use the literal force of the state to forward your agenda. Common sentiment.
Paul, and many like him, think that if the state has a place in the world, it is protect property and liberty, not force people live a certain lifestyle. Wanna argue that folks not combatting global warming are aggressing? Well, as has been mentioned, the place to prove such aggression is in court.

This is actually an easy topic to come to terms with:
1. Alternative energy sources are so scarce in the USA because automobile, energy, and oil companies don't want competition. Their lobbying efforts have put a stranglehold on our economy and seized control of our government. If we put the power back into the hands of the people by voting principled inviduals like Dr. Paul into office and allowing a fair playing field for alternative energy, we can turn this situation around.
