@misterniceguy1111 i know this comment is months later, but if u read this, i can assure yu it is black drum i landed a 42 llb blackdrum last night, these fish get pretty big,
i live in louisiana and do a good bit of fishing from lake pontchartrain...most of my fishing is done from a pier o a dock...around this area we usually get alot of speckled trout redfish black drum etc....i'm hoping to maybe target redfish and black drum using an 8 foot spinning rod spooled with 20 lb test with a 2 ounce egg sinker with 1 to 2 foot 40 lb mono leader or a 12 inch 60 lb wire leader with a 5/0 circle hook is there any advice u can give me or anything i need to change w/ my set up?
Why are you thinking about using the wire leader? They may eat it but not as well as the mono. Other than that I think you should be able to do well with that set up.
thouse were HUGE!! i caught a black drum today on the beach.. man i want a big one like dat.. nice filleting!! lol.. but i enjoy all of your videos.. im still learning on fishing. but what are some tips on fishing on florida beach in melbourne. and what kind of fishes i can possibly catch? so far caught blue whitings and black drum
Melbourne has some great fishing off of their beaches. I believe Pompano fishing should be very good there right now. If you get a chance check out TOTALFISHING . com for all your tackle needs. A TOTALFISHING gift card makes a great Christmas gift.
aren't you supposed to poke a hole in his air bladder ? because here in texas when we catch bull drum or bull red we have to poke the air bladder and release the air so the fish can swim back down.
These fish are all over the shallows by Burntstore Marina usuall early AM, tons and tons of mullet and wh. bait on the beach for bait too. Docks at the marina can find nice snappers, sheeps and ladyfish.....
Almost everytime ive walk out in the flats in the early morning, just infront of the pink condos, near the mangroves there are all kinds of frenzy's of fish splashing and jumping around. Ive seen the fins sticking up in huge numbers more than a couple times. I usually go out there and get bait, usually finger mullets and white bait and fish off the last dock at the very end of the marina. Can usually get a few nice snappers & baby snook and even cought a small grouper.
Instead of catch and release. You can start a nonprofit charity. I've seen your catches. You could feed 50-100 people once a week. (Friday). And get city, state, gov. and private funding to support your overhead.
wow it would be cool if you went to a fresh water lake, and went after huge Muskies it would be awesome to see you go against some giant fresh water fish including sturgeon
today i had a good day i got a 3 and a half foot dog shark and so did my grandpa but his was smaller, it took a lot of energy and was hard but i was in disbelief i caught a shark haha
That's it. I'm selling all my Indiana property and moving to Fort Myers...lol. See you there this winter Captain Ben. I'll be the guy with a Chicago accent who really needs a tan.
Capt Ben, I just checked that Suffix Braid test line on their website and they come in 150 to 333 yard spool. Please tell us which one you are using and what size reel. ? Is 150 yard spool enough or i need longer spool ? I am not sure if these fish run the same as giant carp.
WOW! im am just in aww on how good your show is. you are just blessed with such morale of catching these fish and just letting them go! what a sport! and Capt.
