@DKMstudio Those are the correct Kelsey Hayes wire wheels that came stock with the Sports Roadster package. The tires however should have three quarter inch white walls. Ford discontinued the wide white walls in the early '61 models.
I wonder if GM ever built a vehicle of such high quality or impecable design as the Fords, Lincolns or Mercurys of this time period. I seriously doubt Chrysler did.
@PinkTorpedoMan I have to disagree about the wide whitewalls. Those look better on a square Bird. At least this owner hasn't committed the atrocity of putting a continental spare on this model car as someone else on this site did.
@DJ86023 I agree, these wide white walls were not offered in this year, actually only a few of the early '61's came with wide white walls and then they were discontinued. They look much better with the 3/4" white walls as offered from the factory. One other thing that stands out is the cromed hood scoop, better to have left it original.
this car is gorgeous. rear is the signature look ford at the time. single round, slightly fined torpedo tailight was a nice touch and subsquent fords using variations of this stylistic feature were beautiful. fords in th 70's were awful and awkward looking. the new t-bird is retro 57-63 and i hope it is a big seller for FORD. WHICH A GREAT AMERICAN BAILOUT FREE CO. CONGRATULATIONS. [i never owned a ford--wish i did.]
Nice Factory AM-FM radio-- made by Bendix Radio Corp in Baltimore Maryland. It was monophonic as were most automotive FM radios until about 1969 or so. Stereo was first available in the form of 8-Track radios which for T-Birds was first offered in 1966 as a AM-8-Track unit with door speakers to provide the stereo effect.
Pussy Magnet.
No..really...back in '62 if you were under 70 yrs old and had at least 1 good eye a T-Bird would get you laid.
Still will.

I love white walls - looks awesome - I`m pretty sure a lot of aftermarket owners went for them back in the day - they look so good!

I don't know why everyone wants to put these ugly wide white walls on these cars. They didn't come that way and I think they detract from the car.
