Its sad to see that we live in an era of "if its broke replace it with a new one" what a shame i try to do my best and collect these kinds of cars and rebirth them but theres only so much one man can do plus it gets pretty expensive :)
oh, my. there still is alot of good saveable cars in there. plus lots of good parts. whats wrong with people?? not only good money going to waste, plus the parts & cars. wake up!
i was at my buds one day and he had told me he had a firebird and i belived him. when he showed me the firebird, out side uncovered and driver window down. i totally yelled at him and said i was adopting it and i bought a tarp for it. the motor is gone, but the frame is PERFECT!! no rust at all!! i got some pics of it im going to put on a site and i will put the link on here once it is up! it is a mid to late '70s firebird, cant tell the year cuz the front bumper and rear bumper r gone.
im proud to say i have saved at least one camaro from the scap heap (78 rust bucket) now turned my daily driver, she isnt all that pretty, fast, and likes to drink gas, but i love her =D now my 79 camaro...thats just quick, and to think someone was going to crush her!!! with a 1/4 mile time of 11 seconds i cant see why! lol
what no novas i got my self a 74 nova ss old and beat up but runs the wiring is almost totalled and interior consits of a bucket to sit on while driving and thats it but its got a almost new 454 big block with a racing tranny and possitrack rear end, so im gunna devote my next few years to getting it looking good a fine example of american muscle i would say
@idependentconspiracy I remember about ten of fifteen years ago I bought a volkswagen gti off this guy here in Pa for a work car. As he was showing the car, I saw in the back of this huge garage he had a Yenko Nova couldn't believe my eyes! Dark blue with the white yenko strie down the side. Asked him if it was for sale and got the same answer as every other guy tells you "I'm gonna restore it someday." Never knew what happened with it, probably still sitting in that garage.
@EnemyKnown ya probably, i really respect someone that actually does restore a car if he/she says there going to, i love videos of those cars before and after lol
People are dumb to let shit just sit and rust. Rust so bad till its not worth fixing. I know of a 1969 Big Block Nova SS. Has been sitting under a garage owning outside since 1969.Might as well be outside lol. Car has less then 2,000 miles on it.Parents son owns it he got killed in Nam. Sombody over the years stole the hood off it. Its starting to look bad but very easy restorable. Nope thay will not sell it. I went up with $20,000 cash. dumb cause it is ruff.ITS DUMB TO LEAVE IT GO TO SHIT!!!
Thanks for that. It brought back fond memories of my misspent youth.
AMC was well represented. I had a slough of '68-'69 Javelin's & AMX's starting with my first car, a '68 Javelin. At age 16, I switched that car from an automatic to a 4 speed & dumped the 304(originally a 290 car) for a healthy 390. Too much fun. Trunions(sp?) were the death of those cars. They were what the front springs mounted to at the bottom. When they wore out, the spring would bow out to the side. Unnerving.
@ITS4390 i claimed amandonment on a 1996 dodge charger and now its in my garage getting ready for paint. if u see a car try to claim abandonment i cant remember how long car has to be there but i got my fav car :D
Manufacturers need to go back to the old times and start making rides like tihs again. Not sorta of like these or close to, but right down to the frame. Get rid of the pollution control crap and electronics. They have enough money, and it's very possible. American muscle is dying slowly and it's ver sad. There is a demand out there, and it needs to be done.
@SkidRock088 want an even more badass mopar? 4:10 ..... that things probably worth 75 grand just as it sits in this video, can't tell if its a Daytona or a Superbird, but either way its a bullit man
The Boss in the beginning. Can you tell me where that car is? I am VERY interested in picking it up. I'll give you a little something too if you can give me any info as to where it it.
This is sad. There is still hope for most if not all of these. My '69 Nova was rotting on the edge of the woods behind some dumpsters at a recycling place when I found it. 3 grand in parts and some hard work and she's almost ready to run again. More people should do what I did and save these cars from extinction.
amen, same with are vw ghia and 66 mustang both were at an old farm rotting away now the mustang is almost show and the ghia is running everybody should save these poor cars
I agree. We had an old 69 GTO. we couldnt keep it anymore due to money issues so we had to sell it. The person who bought it made it look like it just rolled off the lot. So many cars here can be saved. Its just a shame noone is trying too save them.
In the day, the country was awash in 340 Dusters. The were everywhere. And some had interesting paint. One of these is at 1:17 with its' 340 Wedge hood. There weren't many around. On the Cars albun 'Candy O' you can see one. This video has quite afew desireable cars. Alot of AMX's. I like'm all. I think the shot at 0:56 says it all for the working man. Trying to hang on to your youth while living in the real world. Just never enough money.
Ok, I am a big FMC fan, and It nearly made me faint to see that Yellow Mach 1 (very first photo) and the '69 or '70 Shelby GT500 convertible sitting there to rot.. Sadly, we cant restore 'em all, but we can damn sure get close. My dad and grandpa have resurrected some shit worse than these cars before.
me to.....im tryin to get my hands on a 1970 mustang.......the guy wants $100 for it but its in the forest and im only 17 so i have no funds to fix it :(
he would probably sell every car accept the one running nomad and one of the 56 chevys which belonged to my dads brother who was shot and died when he was only 13.
it pains me to say this but my grandpa has alot of these old beautys layin around. he has two 1956 chevy nomads (rare) 8 other 56 chevys. a 66 mustang convertible. a 66? falcon with a 327 a 4 speed and a rear out of a 57 chevy (super cool) a 76 monte carlo. a 69 camaro ss. a 67 mustang fastback. and a 72 chevelle ss 396 with a 4 speed. out of all of these only one nomad and the monte are on the street. the rest arent real bad but are getting there. my dad also has a 67mustang coupe there. 289v8
that does suck they sit there its more fucked up that the cars from the late 60's through the early 70's still get wrecked in the demo derby alot of cars are near perfect these morons smash up why wouldnt they use a pice of shit instead of something nice anyways i think people that like old cars better start going to estate sales you can get 1 realy cheap like 1,800 thats not bad for something with no miles lol.....
@OGRM The Impala is sadly one of the most underrated muscle cars in my book. 409's and 348's are all but forgotten now.
