No, silly, of course she didnt die, that would have instantly broken a million hearts & been all over the news. She did have a near-death experience once while scuba-diving in Hawaii. She also knows death firsthand from losing her partner Elizabeth Brooks to cancer in 1996.
The word "tribute" prompts some people to immediately think "memorial", even tho all sorts of tributes to the living are given every day. A curious thing.

First seen Kristy in The Pirate Movie. Parts of which were filmed locally at the Werribee Mansion, about 20 min from where I live and have visited many times. To this day she still remains the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.

If the studios ever do remake Little Darlings, theyll hire a new cast of today's hot young stars. I doubt they would give Tatum anything more than a bit part.
Personally,l i thought the original was pretty wretched, apart from Kristy's luminous performance, which transcended the material above & beyond the call of dramatic duty.

This was before she began succumbing to the ravages of manic depression, which you already see traces of in The Pirate Movie, fetching as she was in it. For the rest of the 80s, you can see the pain & tension in her face, until the Empty Nest years, when she rebounded personally & professionally; & once more, her face is warm & animated.

Yea... Kristy was cool and a great actress. Loved her on Family. Now her brother JIMMY was really cool at WATERBOGGIN in Florida! Now get your heads out of the gutter! He was a good kid and got in his limo after he gave me a kiss on the cheek. His eyes were on me big time. Hundreds of girls and his eyes were on me! He was scheduled to be there from a radio station. He left in his limo and I went back up to the highest slide! LOL fun times!
