My friend and I went on this when the park was called Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, and, well, it totally sucked. The Villain wasn't even a year old, and it was rough as hell. They had a lot of sucky coasters, like Raging Wolf bobs, and the double loop. Headspin was also rough. The best coasters were the Big Dipper, Batman KF, Superman, and X-flight. Didn't to ride Thunderhawk that year, because it was closed. But, we did have fun there.
its screwy that they made gl just a water park. i live in ohio, and i there are tons of other water parks IN THE AREA!!!!! what is the point? i geuss its down to just cp now. i like both, but still. very very screwed up.
The first time I had ever been to Geauga lake was last summer, the last summer before it closed. My brother wanted to ride this one last time but my dad said there was always another time. He never got that next time. It's gone forever =[
I took my family to GL years ago when my oldest 2 kids were still little and it was a memorable time for me. My oldest is grown now and on her own, but that day her and I rode the villein a bunch of times together. We had one of those special father-daughter moments that day. I'm very sad to hear that this ride is no more. Sold for scrap I heard. sigh....
I'm still trying to understand "trick track". Is it in this video? What time? I keep hearing about "trick track" and sorta understand what it means but I've never seen someone define it with a video. Wish I could have gotten video of the first camel back removed from Big Dipper in the 50's but keep wondering what "trick track" looks like.
Yes Im pretty sure its in this video. It starts at 19 seconds. When the ride closed it was just a straight piece of track that went up into a hill. Before that though, the track rocked back and forth, like banked to the left and then to the right back and forth really fast. It was really painful, and hard on the trains, so eventually they removed it.
Ah yeah... okay, I see it now. Thanks! Yeah, this is a pretty sweet effect but I remember how it hurt and can imagine it would take a toll on the train. Sad, last year it was a completely changed ride. Re-tracked, no trick... became much less painful and seemed MUCH faster. Too bad it's looking like it's hitting the toothpick factory.
OMG When I rode this I thought I was going to fly outta my seat. It was soooooo fast and FANTASTIC AIR TIME. When I got off I rode it again and again and again and again and again ect. ect. ect ect.
so did you get kicked out? i was ther today the 12 of june and i was riding that and dam that could snap ur spine like a twig and retracking takes away the glory of a kickass woodie
No, I was lucky that day... didn't get ejected. I did notice though when I got off the ride the on-ride souvenier photo they take wasn't there. I'll probably end up behaving this season (although I do need Dominator and Wolf Bobbs). Currently I'm working on a photo project trying to find photos of Randall Park Mall from 1980 - 1995.
Do not try this at home. Do not pull out a video camera from your pocket half-way up the climb hill - doing so could get you ejected from the park (but could result in cool video) and could leave you liable for injuries your camera causes. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Use only geniune Interocitor parts.
what a waste!!!!
