To all those dissing Indys....these are great for getting around on, carving, and riding pools. Independent makes quality kit. So what if they look bad, If you don't like the way they look, pain 'em(it'll only get scratched off anyways), or don't buy them. No you can't use these on a skateboard, as 215s are way to wide for that. I'm sure the'll bolt up though.
hey, im looking to buy some trucks, but i have the sector 9 carbonite board, and it kinda seems confusing to put trucks on. can someone help me? the board is designed to fit many kinds of trucks. go ahead and call me a noob cause ive been longboarding only for 3 or 4 months now.
each to their own, i guess. hah. looking back, i regret posting this comment. its all personal pref. but i like randals the best. but thats just me :D
what do you ride? i like carvy surfy feel and randals arent just the right movement for this. Get out there and try more setups and youll learn: indy= king for flats/suck downhill
randal= best for all around
its all about personal preference but i will never give my indys up for randal
to achieve the more sufier feel, you could try doubling the cone barrel on ur trucks...keep the barrel as it is and change the top one to as soft as you can get but keep in mind that this is only gud for carving...bombing hills with soft bushes = speed wobble= fail
to double up bushings, take the wider side of each cone bushing, put them together, then put it onto ur kingpin...u might need a bigger kingpin to be able to do this...
thank you. to any one who has the means and stibillity is some thing that you are after get a landyahtz iv done about 50mph without speed wobbles and they dbl for a luge board

i skated a short board nonstop for three years neglect the fact i'v been on off wood since i could walk but i digress after my short board time i still could not do any tricks but i love to go fast and thats wear longboarding rocks
I agree with anickjaymes - shortboards for tricks and vert, longboards for bombing, carving, some flatland tricks, and transit. Naturally, a longer board will give you more stability and longboard trucks are made to turn better than shortboards', and the bigger wheels on longboards will let you go faster with less effort. But for flatland tricks and vert, shortboards all the way
wrong. YOU SHOULD use spacers dude. They prolong the lifespan of your bearings and help you go faster since they make sure your wheels run true and straight. Use them, you'll notice a difference.
I used to skate on a setup that was no different than a longboard, the only difference was the deck. I had an 8.5 navy blue mini logo deck, 149mm independent raw trucks, some red 1/2" risers, 1 1/2" shorty hardware, bones swiss bearings, blue sector 9 65mm wheels, and mob grip tape. I cruised around everywhere on that board.
im thinking about buying new bearings for my s9 carbon trylam, along with new trucks (seismic 155mm (45 degree's) and abec 11 grippins. do u think this would work good? or should i keep my old bearings (=abec 7 that came with the board when i bought it)
@maninahole Have you heard of indie conversion kits? they allow you to use longboard bushings. It feels amazing on a dropped through deck. Its amazingly low
@yourcrapp Independent 215's are some of the most versatile trucks on the market for longboarding. I absolutely love them. Won't replace my Paris or Gunmetals, but still awesome trucks. New bushings and your solid.
@yourcrapp You obviously dont understand jack shit about trucks... Not the best choice for longboarding but indies are some of the best trucks out there.
Thanks dudehow long are they??how much?planing to put bigger trucks and soft big wheels in a small board ,,Hosoi 8.5 and 84,5 or an Alva 10 and 34, I know they are not long boards, but I want trucks and wheels to ride on a very rough floor with lots of cracks and bumps with lost of vibration, do u think is a good idea to install long trucks and softer big wheels in those boards I mentioned? recomend me the best wheels to ride on a very rough and uneven concrete surface.
they are the independent 215 trucks and they are 10" wide. im not to sure what they would feel like on the boards you mentioned. if you want a big wheel thats soft, then i suggest you look at the ABEC 11 GUMBALLS i have a set and they ride over cracks, bumbs and uneven surfices easily no sweat. mine are a 78a but you can get them in 75a which is super soft, and they are also a very popular wheel
oK abec 11 gumballs. I know I shoould have 75a Hardness, what diameter? the bigger and softfer means the better to ride on uneven surfaces reducing vibration totally? or there is no wheel that can do that and they just can take uneven surfaces for a few meters?,visit my scrapdrift utube please, check "powel peralta and truck performance video" and imagine a floor 4 times uneven than the one Iam riding there after going down the slope and let me know an opinion,
they are 75mm diameter. the bigger the wheel and softer the easier it is to ride over shitty surfaces. the surface in that video was pretty shitty for 97a wheels (compound of skate whhels), but gumballs would work well on it. my 78a ride over stuff fine but the softer the wheel, the more the drag there is going to be. gumballs are great for pretty much any type of surface.
i really do think gumballs would be capable of what you are describing with there
Thanks 4 ur answers again dude,Ive been away for some weeks,Im bk,u said"but the softer the wheel, the more the drag there is going to be"u mean drag like scratching the surface?drag like endurance,or drag like lagging?.Im confused with those terms sorry, use dummy language pls 2 explain me differences of sof wheels and hard, tell me about better abec bearings 2 use according wheel size.3,5,7? it cost $100. with the exchange rate at the moment i guess thats around £60-£70 to get the board over here, then about £80 for the board its self and then about £50 for everything else at 'appolo11'(website) which is good because it all goes to charity and you can pick stuff up for trade price so it can be alot cheaper. all together it cost me just under £200 i think
