Locked and loaded!! Check out around 4:45-4:50, when Billy jumps out of his seat!!The Universe provided some incredible energy for the 1980 shows---a prayer of thanksgiving everytime I remember why I got on the bus w/ Cowboy Neal.
brent and his keys make me shiver, anyone who can deny the drumming is a blatant fool, those boys lock eyes and beats and never look back, in perfect time from then on, and a little bobby spit haha, love this video!
just off the hook. this is the boys at their finest.
billy and micky locking in in the beginning, brent slammin the keys, bobby wailing and spitting as usual, jerry just shreddin, phil and bobby just having a ball.
y'all see bill jump out of his throne at 4:40? holy hell i miss them boys.
@yeldarbbs Truth man, nothin' but the truth. He redefined what people thought was possible on guitar, probably nearly as influential in the big picture as shhhhhhhhhhh Robert Johnson. He is also Jorma Kaukonen's hero, what does that say?
omg....this just fills my heart and soul with music notes trying to break out. I LOVE it! so amazing. I wasnt even born for almost 2 years after this performance, but man i get it and im ecstatic to be here =)

yep all around 5:42 garcia is smokin' hot like the center of the sun hot like atomic bomblets, golden yummies that woke up the sleeping serpent in everyones spine ...dancing you off to infinite dimensions....uhmmm ya had to be there...
oh the good ol days...dig the drummers tightening up in the beginning I'll take this year hands down....yeah garcia reached full enlightenment in 87" and was the silver surfer himself in 67 but this is the best of all worlds
@guitarman0478 Check Mickey's expression on his face when 5:42 rolls in. The dynamics of these guys through their onstage communication while playing only looks easy. Damn, I miss The Grateful Dead!
Strong and Powerful..Screams from start to finish...This is music raw and deep..

How the hell do you have two drummers that mesh so fluidly that you'd swear there was a four armed man beating those skins.

Dude in the purple tie-dye jumpsuit on the purple bike riding down the middle of Sixth Ave walking in.
Phil and I - same shirt that night. FRC - thanks Brian!
Those wild cartoons at intermissions - Heckle and Jeckle dropping "bombs" of sunshine on people at war. Anyone remember that?
spilling onto sixth ave at the end with the fuzz just thinking, "f-it, it's easier to stop the cars."
Rockefeller Centers' towers all tipped at 45 degrees
Yes, those were the days
