@V8ORNOTHING81 That was the GT driver's 1st time at the track. By the end on the night he was cutting a good light & running 14.00. The V6 with the 4.10 gears, exhaust & tune pulls pretty hard from 0-80 but you can't match the sound of a good V8.
@heslekrants good deal. I was like dawg this vid isnt accurate and featured the V6 creaming the GT off a bad start. Good to hear that V8 driver stepped up his game later on, and ran better times.
lol that was just funny lol that gt is probably stock and with a bad driver lol, i got the same car and not even a 09 gt can take me, and i only got bolt on. chip, gears, etc
@heslekrants a super charged 10 gt would be a good match. but a 2006 v6 supercharged wouldnt even be close. to get 200 hp youd have to put to much psi on the engine to the point of the cost not being worth it. new crankshaft, gauges, the suspension is shitty for the v6 and the whole lower end of the engine would need a rebuild
@spartanmaster117chie A good supercharged 10 GT should easily beat a stock 11 GT. I would of bought an 11 GT but the equal optioned 10 GT was $12K cheaper by me.
Supercharged 4.0 V6s can get into the 12s. Goto mustangforums com/forum/v6-s197-general-discussion/162249-4-0l-1-4mi-ets-and-dyno-numbers.html
Was the V6 stock? Everyone loves to talk s**t about how "slow" the V6 Mustangs are yet they go 0-60 in six seconds and will blow the doors off of any riced out Civic. :)
Installed a C&L cold air package & a custom tune. Idles smooth, the dead spot is gone. Haven't been to the dyno yet. 1/4 time dropped to 14.8, had a hard time hooking up.
Replaced the 3.31 rear gears with 4.10 & T-Lok and only dropped to a 14.7 due to no traction. With the 4.10 gears there is so much more power to the ground makes the car a blast to drive but need better tires.
Installed an X pipe and it sounded really good. Still hada little vibration at idle and a dead spot at 5500rpms. Got 206rwhp on the dyno. Note that the dead spot at 5500rpms caused the dyno to spike from ~195 to 206rwhp at 5500rpmson 4 runs. I felt this at the track as well. 1/4 time dropped to 15.5.
I installed dual GT mufflers (from a manual car) on my wife's 06 Pony without an X pipe 1st using 2 1/4" pipes from the cats back. Had a little vibration at idle and a dead spot at 5500rpms. It had a ricer sound above 3000rpms and lost performance, 1/4 time went from 15.7 to 15.9.
Hey what can you tell me about your Mod's, I have a similar car with auto. I'm thinking of all the same mods. what were the improvements? Thanks for your help.
Well that was BS. Let a real driver race that GT, and we all know its over for the V6. Comon now lets all be realistic.

@yunior18
The driver was pretty new to drag racing. He did end up running a 13.9 with his 2000 GT.
We're going to supercharge the V6 Mustang with a goal of dipping into the 12s running DRs. The hunt is on to race a 2011 Mustang GT
heslekrants 1 year ago
@heslekrants the 2011 goal will never happen, ever. unless you got 2 stage 3's and ur pushing like 900 hps.
spartanmaster117chie 1 year ago
@spartanmaster117chie We ended up trading in the 06 for a 10 GT(got $9,250 off MSRP) so a supercharger may end up on the 10 GT instead.
A supercharged 06 V6 Mustang would be a good match for the 11 GT.
