DeBella and Imus were doing Morning Zoo type radio long before Stern. Apparently, the two originals were too intellectual for the crowd that listens to that type of show.

Yeah. They wound up working together when Stern came out to Philly and outdid hIm in the ratings.
They would only hire him with Stern's approval. After he took him down, Stern said, "Give him a job."
Is he funny? It's kind of difficult to tell. He's a little too overkill. Some sublety would be nice.
