i just got my refurbished macbook pro, it has a blank screen when i turn it on. i called apple and now i have to wait for them to first call me back, send return shipping labels, then for me to send it back, then theyll mail me a different one. this sucks.

@afroken0 apples are jsut as unreilable as windows, people jsut odnt alk about it as much, just like 360s are so bad with rrod, but ps3s break jsut as much but with the ylod but you never hear about it just windows/360, you sont see as many refurbs because if you look at their site its jsut a small link at the lower left side its like putting size 100 font and then putting way in the corner 4 font, lol nice vid

@splice247 I'm not bashing windows just I believe that the refurbs that come from apple are going to be much better for the life of the product. And I am typing this on the same comp in the vid like 10 months later and not one problem. Also you cant go wrong with the build quality mac uses on there computers, I cant say the same about many of the plastic PC's I have seen. All I have to say is if your going for a laptop then buy a mac if you want a desktop buy a PC.

@splice247 Well actually OSX is more reliable because there are very few viruses for it. A lot less then for Windows, which is why very few people complain about it. And you are pretty wrong about the PS3 and YLOD. Xbox's had around 33% chance of failure rate, but has been reduced by a little. Whereas the PS3 has less then 10%. The YLOD only occurred in the 1st 2 models that came out and was fixed for the newer models. And the slim had an even smaller failure rate. :P

@TheWorldofJoe who wants to make viruses for 8% of computers (wikipedia windows is 92% as of may 2010) that would be retarded, and as long as you dont do anything stupid and have a good virus program like avira, you wont get viruses, btw the more recent 360s like the newer models before the s, the failure rate is way less, 33% is like the first models

and the 13 inch screen feels bigger because the screen quality is so nice.

I got it for 1,102 and some change.

And a refurbished computer is one that apple has gotten back from somneone: either doa, broken logic board, broken dvd drive, many other reasons but apple checks it all out and fixes the problem so if I'm guessing right you almost have a better chance to get a better quality computer buying a refurb.

I bought a 15" MacBook Pro and 24" Cinema Display, both refurbished. And both came in perfect condition. So if anyone else is thinking about buying refurbished, go for it. Great experience and lots of savings, the latter of which you should use towards AppleCare. (Tip: most, if not all, American Express cards give you an additional year of warranty on big ticket purchases like this. So with AppleCare, you get 4 years of warranty.)
