  • I agree with everything you said. I use cannabis the same way you do: to enhance interaction with the world, art, literature. Especially older literature. example: faerie tales don't interest me when straight; high, they're engrossing and rich with meaning. I always look for a sativa for this effect, and make sure I use with some supplements, B6, Lecithin, 5-htp, for good brain function...

  • what a lost young man.

  • Too much insight "can or cannot" be a bad thing, which I am seeing... Maybe you are smoking to much... How often and much do you smoke, May I Ask? Moderation Is The Key !!! Be Safe !!!

  • Personally I've noticed academically it doesn't alter my math or science, but it does help a lot for Art and English (History). So I've used it for the creative aspect; reason being that I'm lacking in creativity so I get writer's block often (I can plan the whole story out in my head very quickly). It should be noted that there are limits; if I consumed 2oz I would probably be close to if not totally incoherent.

  • @jbetenbender I am willing to make such a bold statement as: roughly 2/3 of people that smoke aren't suited for it. Now having stayed socially close enough to people I've known since elementary I've been able to observe them as they grew up. Some people decided to smoke, and I've heard plenty of them blame bad academics on cannabis; however they've always done sub par (and that pattern hadn't changed).

I believe only a certain # of ppl should consume bc u do have to be of the right mind set.

  • @jbetenbender I have ADD. I'm not sure if it's directly linked but it's helped me a lot, and I've always been curious about science (I love science)

  • @jbetenbender This is 100% TRUE... If 2/3, probably more... more like 3/4 of the people...

  • @sirlovemehard Yeah true enough but I suppose I must rebuttal my own words. The THC aspect of it was right, but smoking anything is bad as it creates carbon monoxide, & although cannabis has zero carcinogens the act of smoking converts non-carcinogenic chemicals into carcinogens. So rly everyone should use high quality vaporizers, food, & or tincture. All that comes out is water vaper THC, THV, & some other cannabinoids some of which are excellent cancer fighters (specifically CB1, CB2 agonists).

  • i understand you friend, I MUST play guitar or sing when i smoke, if your not being creative you are missing out on the benefits. definately

  • I think it depends so much in your life before smoking, because there's all kind of pot smokers out there, I bet this guy has alway been interested in knowing, learning and so on.

Remember that cannabis is associated in India with the goddes Shiva "The destroyer" in both senses (good/bad), when you do it resposible it can be uses as catalyst to progress, but if you get addicted to it, you have the dark side of the plant.

  • @jamma So tell me will you join the dark side and become the Sith Lord of cannabis. =D

  • THC is coated all over the plant naturally, you idiot. The psychoactive ingredient that gets you high. Dumbass

  • By the way, I think you should really cut down on your weed intake because I can tell that you are high in most of your videos. You have bags under your eyes, you forget what you're talking about and you look confused and look away from the camera a lot. I can tell, man. I know what it does.

  • BigFatCheese100: You don't even know the guy and you're telling him to cut down?..I mean wtf this is a free world and we are free to do what we want, if you want to tell people to stop smoking then why not become a drug counselor and help those who need it? Oh and please provide some proof to back up your claim of Cannabis being physically addictive, i would like to see you refute some of the best scientisits and experts in the world! The whole plant is covered in THC? WTF world do you live in?

  • are you gay shut up

  • You get a rush of ideas because Pot increases your Dopamine and Seratonin levels in your brain, like any other drug. These are the pleasure centres of your brain that are responsible for making you feel happy. This gives pot it's addictiveness. THC is not just "a plant", it is a psychoactive drug, mild hallucinogen, and appetite stimulater. The entire plant that you smoke is coated in THC. You are not addicted to this plant, you are addicted to THC.

  • actually THC hits anandamide receptors not dopamine and seratonin. anandamide is a naturally occurring chemical in every mammalian brain and not well understood by the scientific community other than its association with sleep. smoke a bowl and see- it is not like acid and ecstasy(seratonin release) or crack (dopamine inhibitor) or smack (endorphine clone) or meth(adrenaline clone) . weed ain't the enemy it's just on the front lines

  • This may take two comment windows. First off, I want to lay it out that I am a cannabis user, and think Terrence Mckenna had some amazing ideas, even those I don't agree with. Anyway, I experiance cannabis a little differant time to time. There are the goofy times, there are introspective times, and in some cases it even makes my mind narrow and question my own beliefes to a point that I feel I have become a conservative, but nearly every time...

  • I can zone out, and while working it's like autopiolet. The amazing thing is, is that when zoned, I can focus on nothingness to the point my vision seems to go black, starting drom the farthest points going in. I once ended up seeing two circles of vision, though I couldn't do more, as I had company. I wonder if going on would bring on a trance state, or an otherworldly experiance. I need to try this alone, because cannabis rivels salvia as an entheogen to me. Sorry for my spelling...

  • Anyway, I don't know why I wanted to post my experiances here, I havn't anywhere else. Maybe it's just nice to see someone my age from my country saying something intelegent. Every voice helps. There is one negative aspect of cannibus for me though, that needs a quick mention. After smoking two years(it does melt depression away:))it has chainged me. I hate what society has become, and I know functioning will...

  • It looks like the comments will go last to first on here, so this is the last....

like I was saying, functioning in society becomes harder and harder. I could live in a shack and make just enough for food and be happy; that isn't allowed in the US really. Hell, anywhere you need to work for money and materials. Nepal seems as far from it as it gets. There are probably many subconcious effects we don't see too. Sorry for the posts. Not meaning to be spammy, just needed to put this stuff somewhere

  • Nepal is as far as it gets from having to make money and materials? How so? Could you just get land and cultivate there? I personally would be very happy if I could "afford" cultivating food and psychedelic plants.

  • right on, bro! that was a sick analysis of cannabis and a sharing of your experiences... let me know if you're ever in NYC, we should chat

  • nice! one of my favorite books by one of my favorite minds. Terence rocks :)

  • you seen like someone who knows alot about th truth

  • Very impressed, I seriously think you should write a book on your thoughts, I find Cannabis a very interesting experience and want to find out how it effects someone's mind..but I liked what you said, very interesting :)

  • I wanted you to share with you Sri Aurobindo's related commented on this topic: "At one time -- in Sadhana -- I used to try all sorts of experiments to see what happens and how far they are related to the truth. I took Hemp as I wanted to know what happens and why Sanyasis and Sadhus take these things. It made me go into trance, and sometimes sent me to a superior plane of consciousness. But reliance on these outer stimulants was found to be its greatest drawback, and hence should be avoided."

  • Thanks for that, ask. Aurobindo's perspective is certainly worth considering!

  • Apologies if this sounds preachy: but be careful with your experimentations redliterocket. I only wish you good. You speak of moderation, but it needs a titan mental will (that can override one's vital insistences) to keep it at that. I surely do not have this, so have organized a physical culture devoid of any intoxicant however mild.

  • Also, like to add that most often that not, Sri Aurobindo says, people using stimulants end up in certain planes of consciousness that are termed "intermediate zones" that are very misleading. Can I ask you to google "intermediate zone" to read a rather incomplete wikipedia article.

  • I read the article, ask. I can understand where you are coming from and getting trapped and mesmerized by the astral plane is a danger I should be aware of. Thank you for bringing this up.

  • I was going to reply sooner but suddenly became distracted..

To give a brief account, I smoked for eight years and it deffinetely opened gateways of self expression and exploration, but I am weary of it becoming something greater than a catalyst..I'm concerned it could become a barrier that destroys ambition and enables self-destructive patterns...

  • If that's the case then be careful and consider it deeply. There were times when I felt the same way, but I realized I was using cannabis as a scape goat when it really had nothing to do with it. Motivation is important, but so is knowing how to relax and let the river flow.

  • Ok, so lets say that I am using it for all the right reasons, not to escape, but to help define myself, and that which I perceive, in a deeper context to help foster enlightenment..Will an addictive mindset self destruct even within these boundaries???

  • What makes an addictive mindset? Do you think that just smoking makes you an addict? Is there a degree of addiction?

  • I do use cannabis a lot, but I don't feel it is an addiction. I think it is a partnership or relationship, maybe an alliance of some kind. I don't NEED to smoke and when I can't find bud or I'm just too busy then its not the end of the world. I enjoy the breaks as much as the periods when I am smoking.

  • I think an addictive mindset results when this natural union becomes a dependancy...

When the focus is on the cannabis, rather than the experience.

Speaking from experience, I want to understand the choice that has presented itself...

  • Do you feel the urge to start smoking again? Obviously you do, I would think.... Only you know the path that is right for you. Dependency is a bad thing, no doubt. But as much respect and admiration as I have for Aurobindo... I don't see why there should be any ultimate distinctions between internal and external, inner and outer. Especially in the case of cannabis, a plant which has evolved together with human beings for so many thousands of years.

  • And as I said, while high you may reach those higher planes in trance states. But the realizations carry over into normal life as well. Dependency would be being high all the time, morning until night, day after day. But in moderation, I think the cycle of consciousness keeps me sharper.
