  • wasn't the 1st one xena?

  • @bikerheart Right you are! That photo of Xena dressed as a samurai warrior was taken from the episode (season 6 I believe) in which Xena and Gabrielle journeyed to Japan. I believe their goal was to save a royal princess from assassination.

  • what kind of instrument is this? thx for answers ;)

  • @skamaid The instrument playing the background music is called a simisan, which is a Japanese mandolin. The music is "Sakura", the cherry blossum song, and is a very popular folk tune in Japan.

  • I believe, if I am not mistaken, that the Japanese warrior woman at 4:48 was Tomoe Gozen of the Legendary Beautiful Samurai

  • @Ice9joesatriani The picture is from an exhibition put on by the Japanese branch of the Society For Creative Anachronism. But, the warrior woman is costumed to look like Tomoe Gozen, the famous Japanese female samurai.

  • 2:46 is a magic card ^^

    it's called resilient wanderer

    she's a creature-nomad

has a protection from color of choice ability

it's number 43/350 of the odyssey set

additional note on the bottom is

Nomads understand many cultures and therefore travel without fear

Illustration is done by Clyde Caldwell

Although she appears asian she is inhabitant of the daru plains which lies in the northern part of Otaria

  • @Stormtjakka Thanks for you detailed info on this picture. I knew it was by Caldwell but didn't know the history behind it.

  • @Askar590 I haven't been able to find a good artwork depicting Tomiris, but if I do, I'll include it in my video. If you know a gallery that has one, please let me know.

  • Wait just one second!!!! Mulan was a woman???

  • @EarthDaze Hi, yes, Mulan was a female warrior. According to Chinese legend, she took the place of her ailing father and dressed as a male warrior. She fought bravely and was honored by the Emporer. Check Wikepedia for her legend.

  • Is "Xena" an Asian woman warrior? This is some stupid shit; jack off material for geeks.

  • @zoznack Xena did several episodes set both in China and Japan. This video has one photo of her dressed as a Samurai warrior.

  • Nice collection of art featuring Asian warrior women. Keep up the good work!
