I would say just play the game. You can NOT compare this game to Final Fantasy and Monster Hunter. Hell I wouldn't even recommend comparing FF and Monster Hunter to each other, haha. Anyway, this game is absolutely amazing, but it depends if you like this kind of stuff or not. Just to warn you, be prepared to spend 100's of hours on this game if you end up liking it. The Game of the Year edition for PC (best version) is now only $29.99 new. PS3 and 360 versions also worth getting if you have to.
It's also 29.99 new on ps3 and 360 for the Game of the year edition, and if you get a good copy used it'll be only 24.99. the main game is worth 30 dollars alone, but with the Game of the Year edition you get the 2 expansion packs, 1. Shivering Isles, and 2. Knights of the Nine. Together they offer upwards of 70 hours of gameplay, and the main game by itself offers upwards of 100 hours. If you just wanted to blaze though it all, you'll still be spending upwards of 100 hours for all of it.
You're gonna love it. I bought this for xbox 360 on a whim- hadn't read a review or heard a single thing about it at the time. Still play it after 3 years. It is a serious experience!

1. the way that the big cities just feel empty there isnt enough people walking around in the imperial city i think there is about 50 people. I just wished that the populations would be on the scale of say GTA4

That hasn't been confirmed yet, Bethesda could do Summerset Isle, because alot of the NPC's are talking about the isle.

I believe that this game is absolutly incredible. The story line is awesome, the graphics are amazing and the total playing value is what i think makes the game like it is. OBLIVION ROCKS!!!!!! :)

just two points disappointed me about this game:
1. the way that the big cities just feel empty there isnt enough people walking around in the imperial city i think there is about 50 people. I just wished that the populations would be on the scale of say GTA4
2. the other thing is the fact tht you cant travel further into tamriel i was expecting the whole world to be included but it just ends at the borders

yeah I see what you mean, It didnt had to be on a GT4 scale of the Imperial city but just slightly bigger. It had like 4 different zones which were small and didnt have the hussle and bussle a city should feel. Still brilliant game.

@HoodSta93 Although the game would perhaps just be too big and lose quality if that were true, I totally agree with changing the way pedestrians work. I wouldn't miss individual names at all, I just want more people.

bigger map = more cities = more people = more generic douchebags
bigger map = more enemies = more loot = more work for bethesda = later release and shittier overall quality because the more there are in ANYTHING the more they half ass it

the 360 version im told seems unfinished with crashes harsh load times bugs , glitches the works. the ps3 and pc version are more finished and have less faults

yeah I agree I own the 360 version and its full of strange glitches, unlike the pc and ps3 version, although that didnt stop me playing it for 200+ hours but whatever
