  • Sure

  • great vid, i would love to see you go thrugh all the contains of this pack in another vid.

  • where did you get the axe?

  • Cont... you can get in this little pack. But that would not be possible with out all of the webbing. You hit the nail on the head. Modular! its the way to go. If you have it set up right you just pull a few pouches off, what ever you need and away you go. I will have to checkout the rest of your videos, We Think alike or at least we like the same gear!

  • This is almost scary, My condor is set up almost to the "T" as yours. There for a Minute I thought we had the same AX. But when you removed it I saw yours was a watterlings (mine is a Grandfors) We have three out of the four pouches are the same. It is an Awesome pack. And you can go five days out of this pack I have done it. It was peak salmon fishing time so we did not have to take a lot of food. Had salmon and grouse for three meals. I can not believe how much you can get Cont...

  • is this pack bigger in dimensions than the falcon2? also how does it fit on your back? ive been thinking of getting one but im really tall so concerend about the fit

  • @kickthetv643 It is bigger than the Falcon II. If you are tall I don't think you will like this pack. I have heard more than one person say it does not fit a longer torso.

  • i just picked one up today for $70 in ACU camo form ebay, it brand new with tags and all

  • great review

  • That's a great looking dog! I have one just like it. Mastiff/St, Bernard

  • Hey,Good video,I noticed you have a a Wetterlings and I was wondering if you know who sells the 26 inch handles in Canada.I want to replace my 16 inch handle for the 26.Just thought you might know,,,,Thanks again fot the great videos.

  • Nice looking Bullmastiff

  • what kind of dogs are those?

  • That looks like a really cool pack…how well do you think it will hold up over time? I love all those compartments and webbing. If my North Face Yavapai (OD green as well) would ever wear out I’ll consider that Maxpedition for sure…had my Yavapai for over 10 years, it’s not a fancy pack but it is durable.

  • @BlackCatSaloon I have had this pack for about 2 years or so. I has held up very well so far. I love hearing about other peoples gear they have actually used. 10 years shows you picked a great pack.

  • @iawoodsman Yes, the Yavapai has turned out to be very durable...but I'm really liking the looks of your Condor II. :-) It may be time to upgrade. lol

  • @BlackCatSaloon Just to give you a heads up Bushcraft Outfitters is selling Maxped Condor II's for 118.00, I think.

  • @BlackCatSaloon I have the North Face Yavapai, the Condor II is more versatile with all of the pals webbing about the same size though! More pockets ! Good pack !! Still have my N-F pack !

  • Thanks for posting this, I just got a Falcon II and it's cool to see how it compares with a Condor II for size and features.

How do you carry your water with this setup? I'm guessing since you have a knee pad in the bladder compartment you're not using a hydration system. You mentioned using your rollypoly pouch for a zebra or foraging as opposed to a nalgene/bottle. Do you carry a separate water bottle holder?

  • @jayloden I have a Maxped 10x4 bottle carrier that I use for water.

  • @iawoodsman Gotcha, thanks for the reply!

  • Only one criticism of the Maxpedition Condor II: there are no storm flaps over the zippers and it doesn't seem to be treated with the same water repellant treatment as the gearslinger series so unless you cover the pack the contents inside will get pretty wet in a downpour.

  • Looks like a terrible pack I had in cadets. Surely you'd be better off with a more modern pack that supports weight on the hips not the shoulders? I do like the modular. Why can hiking packs accept Molle too? They could make the straps colorful to avoid the rambo look. I've admire your skills in your other bids, so if you say its good, it probably.is. I just don't see it.

  • Nice vid, i like the simplicity of your axe loop. Consider that idea copied! Have a nice day!

  • Great vids, just found your site and appreciate your experience and expertise. Bought a Condor II myself recently and am amazed at the quality, zippers u bet, top of the industry. Bummer is I'm 6'2" and the waistbelt rides above the belt by at least 2". Good news is don't have too much of a belly and can also add my military butt pack and/or canteen to the hip with room to spare to make for an easy 2 nighter. Bonus. Thanks for the modular ideas, going to use some of them. Cheers from Canada.

  • Awesome vid dude, thanks!

I like your dog, kinda reminds me of my friends' Rhodesian Ridgeback. Beautiful!

  • excellent review!

  • Great rundown.

    Thanks for posting this up.

    Wolf

  • Your welcome brother.....great video as usual....

    AMS

  • dig it, daddy-o.

    Iz

  • Rock solid! Thanks for the tour iawoodsman

  • Nice pack and review. Similar to a 30L day pack I have. Very comfy to walk with. It does ride high, put that suits me too.

The wide lower pocket with the organisers is very handy.

I put my iPad where you put your knee pads.. very well protected there.

  • Do you use tac ties to attach molle pouches to your pack. Thanks again.

  • @lmsloan Yes

  • I just got a Vulture II and would really benefit from a vid(s) on the add-on pouches you chose. Max has a bewildering number to choose from, but hard to decide looking at still photos.

Really appreciate the knowledge you pass along. I imagine it's a lot of work.

  • I'm been itching to buy a condor for the last 3 weeks, but I really want the old Khaki version with the black accents. It's unfortunately impossible to find though. I may get the OD green instead.

  • Nice video my friend. I've got a Condor II as well. It's really well made. The only thing i wish is that the main compartment zipped all the way open.

  • Nice bag and what kind of dog is that?

  • @xxxM85xxx Titus is am English Mastiff

  • Jeez is that a horse in the backround?

  • Do you prefer this over your ALICE pack?

  • @Diopterman For just going out and screwing around I take the Condor. For a couple of nights out it is the Alice.

  • Respond to this video...

  • @iawoodsman comment removed. sorry for offending you....

  • Looks like a great pack. I'll second the look see on your load out. Thanks

    Nate

  • you dont carry your tomahawk any more?

  • @LandAndSeaKahuna Yep, I carry an axe in the winter though

  • Nice pack. If you could do a video on the loadout that would be awesome as well

  • Would definitely love seeing your load out. Thanks for the video!

  • Thanks for the demo. I really like the looks of these bags. I was considering using the mongo for my car/truck kit. But I may have to consider this instead.

  • ... good pack. Looks really versatile.

  • Great stuff man. I'm looking into the Vulture 2 just to have more room for stuff. But I gotta ask What is the size of that axe?

  • @zujostix That is a 26" Forest axe from Wetterlings.

  • @iawoodsman Interesting. People swear by those 19" 3/4 axes, so I'm really glad someone is bringing the big tools with him

  • @zujostix Hell I feel bad just carrying the 26 incher!!! I used to carry a 32" double bit.

  • @iawoodsman Now that is a serious tool. But I'm guessing that it had some downsides to it when you switched to a 26" axe

  • These are great packs. I had a Condor II, but I sold it and got a Vulture II cause it had a bit more standalone room. I put a Monkey Admin pouch on the back which is good for smaller items you may need frequently. The quality of these things are amazing. Great vid!

  • @BTeamHooligan Does the Admin pouch get in the way of the strap?

  • @mrmonkeyman50 The cinch strap? Not at all. You can just feed it up behind the pouch and still use it.
