Yep, its underextracted. it only took 11-13 seconds when youre lookin for around 25. im guessin its in youre tamping. are ya usin a plastic tamp? cause they do not press evenly and can cause softspots in the puck of proper pressurized and not pressurized grounds.

Thanks, yup - my tamping sucks :) I was using a plastic tamper, will have to give a metal one a try.

Your shots pull to fast. Slow it down a bit.

Did you change the filter basket to a non-pressurized one? And what is the grinder you are using?

I used the same one that came with that machine, the double shot basket...which btw tends to clog easy...

The grind was from s'bucks...they get get it a bit finer than my cheaper grinder.

The usual steps: fine grind, tamping (20lbs, tap, 50bls) warmed up head, etc.
