I think you may have been off when the Glacier attempted to rescue the Argintine supply ship! I was on board and remember it as if it were yesterday. We lost two blades off the starboard prop. I was also one of the lucky ones that spent the week in Buenos Arias. Great song and great memories! I was on the deck force Bm3 Danner
I think I remember you singing and playing on the flight deck. I'll add bass and keys to your song and send it back to you as I have a studio and that's what I do.
@BLUNUTT That'd be cool, I think the 12 string is a little bit out of tune in the recording so I hope you can work it. "A something" Em, G and D. Are there any other names of crew you remember? Thanks joe
I really enjoyed your video. I served my time in B3 engine room on the same trip. It's nice to see a few old Square Knots are still around. Thanks for the memories.
Great video! Thanks, so much. Having been on the Glacier for Operation Deepfreeze in 1968, it brings back many memories. Hanging on for dear life on the fantail during the forbidden hours around the Straits was a major rush! Square knots abounded back then, with the 1968 crew garnering one on that single cruise.

My dad is Fred Nichols (Frederick) I know that he was focused on electronics...an above deck guy. What your email address? I will pass it his way.
Thanks!

Thanks! Was your dad's name, Pete? I think I remember a damage control man named Pete Nichols.

Thanks for your comments Coasties! Looking at a map, it is still hard to believe we were at about 77 degrees south latitude!
