  • looks like this one and the deltic share the same fate

  • MISS THOSE OLD C&NW SD40-2. I ONCE CHASED 2 OF THEM FROM THE BUTLER YARD TO THE SOUTHSIDE OF SHEBOYGAN, WIS. TAPEING THEM AT WHAT CROSSING I COULD CATCH THEM AT, WHAT AWAY TO SPEND AN AFTERNOON!

  • @AOS1738 It was my favorite locomotive.

  • @mmandmcb14 THE C&NW SD40-2 WERE SURE SOMETHING TO SEE AND HEAR OUT ON THE C&NW MAIN LINE. JUST LISTEN TO THAT 3,000 HORSE POWER JUST PRRRRRRRRR

  • Poor little loco, still workin' hard at the front of the train, where it belongs!

  • They'll find a another locomotive and repaint it into a replica of one.

  • Miss CNW. Not to long ago I saw a patch leading a NS mine run

  • Rest in peace, 6930. What a way to go. Hopefully, Union Pacific Artwork wasn't too far off for their second #1995, a General Motors SD-70ACe. (Which reminds me---what was the first UP #1995?)

  • It is nice how the sound is just coming out of the left side of my headphones...

  • I occasionally see a CNW hooked up to a UP freight train coming through Little Rock Ar.

  • I hope they never touch it...

  • IT IS GONE!!! Wrecked in 2002 in a derailment.

  • Maybe we'll find an SD40-2 that will become CNW 6930 or static display.

  • @mmandmcb14 IRM Has a Unpatched CNW Sd40-2 with a Rs3l and a nosebell

  • Okay, Maybe they'll find a another SD40-2 locomotive and repaint it into a CNW replica of it and number it 6930 and it will be sold to a different railroad museum for static display.

  • @mmandmcb14 oh

  • @RailsandRoads No, IRM has a _depatched_ SD40-2 in their possession. UP had patched it, IRM removed the patch.

  • @RailsandRoads same difference .... its unpatched now

  • is this the engine that the IRM Got ?

  • No. It's the 6847.

  • k thanks

  • they better keep that unpatched

  • It's been gone for over six years.

  • This unit?

  • along with UP 8071 and SP 292.

  • Pull'in steel.CNW

  • Max is right...this one wrecked and was scrapped.

  • Cool!!

  • Yep. MPBDA, mostly loads, sand, lumber and stuff.

  • THATS 10,000 TONS

  • awsome, I love the CNW paint colors

  • love the horn.

  • i saw two SD40-2s in run 8 a week ago, the ground really shook

  • This was taken in August of 02. My bad, I thought the 6930 was the last one. Thanks for the correction.

  • 6871 was the last CNW to survive...

  • When was this taken? 6930 was retired from UP in December 2002.

  • @TommyBNSF yep, got killed in a bad accident
