  • ahh my dad went on saturday mannn no fair at all!! he was supposed to go in 1973, but couldnt because of Plant's injuries stopping the tour. Goal in life:see Jimmy John and Robert, separate or together, in person. even if im a thousand feet away

  • I must have been less than 5 feet from where you were. I have photos that line up almost exactly. In fact, I could be standing right in front of you. If you'd like to see one of the photos I have, email me at randyb at treblev dot com.

  • me too, fun day on the "green"

  • Any idea which day the video is from? I went on Saturday, still have the poster.

  • my mom and dad were there at both concerts.

  • I WAS THERE !!

  • @MtvRotoscopeReality wow im not sure but alex bennett does sounds familiar ..(they say memorys the first thing to go - lol - thank god these old songs bring it back!)

  • this is the show where peter grant and the other jerk richard cole got into a melee with bill grahms boys and got arrested, i think plants son died while the show was going on, total disaster. i had a couple friends that went and said it sucked, page was a total junkie at this time.

  • HOLY SHIT...Why did it take me this long to find this film? I went to BOTH shows...I actually left the first show with people I met and fucking left my car...got home and my mom asked..."Where is your car Billy"...I told her I left it at the Coliseum so she drove me back the next day and dropped me off and I just went back in for day 2! I got FUCKING HAMMERED on Bacardi 151 ! I went to College Park High in Pleasant Hill at the time. What a FUCKING MEMORY!

  • Ther last american tour date...

  • I won tickets too!

  • @alabama5150 so did my brother - off kmel <<radio station or was it 98.5 KOME lol

  • I tried and tried to get tickets with nothing coming my way. Then my little sister 14 tells me she won tickets on KFRC a san francisco radio station. Then came the great swindle of how Mike(thats me)got her(Sue) to give me the tickets. 17 .50 a piece I believe. She still say's I owe her for the tickets. Kevin my buddy, and I went in his F85 Olds wagon . Smoked columbian drank gin. Great memory sis.

  • @MrISatai

It was felony assault. The BGP employee had the shit beat out of him. Do some research on this. It's no big secret.

  • this is the saturday show, i went to the sunday show. i was also 14, a month shy of 15... not zeps greatest show, but derringer was great and contrary to what everybody remembers, priest was good too.... its an old story but of course the sunday show almost didnt happen.... the last show ever in the states and i was there.....

  • i was 14 vwhen i was there.judas priest i think rick derringer.the greatest concert i ever seen.i was sober.oh well still enjoyed.

  • I was here.

  • I remember this. if this is sunday i was there. I couldn't get anyone who wanted to go with me so I went alon. I was drinking heavily and went up to the OD area and passed out a bit, then came back down. I remembered it being a bad atmoshphere, not a great concert. The next year I became a Christian and gave up my concert going days, then got married and had kids, but I saw quite a few before that including Snack sunday. The bay was a music hotbed at that time...

  • Wait. . . . . was that Stonehenge???

    LOL.

Band's so great and iconic that this is still fantastic. . . despite the fact that it looks and sounds like crap.

  • I was there at 14 years old. My first concert. What an experience.

  • @jsd1011 That was also my first concert and also 14 it was an experince of a lifetime (: i saw both shows since then ive toured the world with my guitar and also get a hard on when i saw this if anyone has anymore of this show sat,or sun, i would love to see it

  • i was there,greatest concert ever.they rocked-i was 14

  • Yep, I was there. The one and only time I saw Zep. After that I saw Robert Plant solo many times around the Bay Area, but no more Zep.

  • hey lol i remember my brother won tickets to that show off the radio stationl -98.5 KOME ;))

  • frthauler, i remember the stampede when they opened the gates, my cousin and i were already in the lot , crawled under the fence at the creek, behind the junk car lots at the time , by the bart station, hiding in the porto johns in the parking lot at the time and when the people came running in the lot we emerged and got in the front of the line to the stadium. never forget that day, first concert 15 yrs old

  • I was at this concert, very cool

  • omg my dad was here!!!!!!!!!!

  • BAM Magazine had a pretty good article re the incendent with Grant, Bonham and Co. This was the only time I saw Zep, regrettable that it was not the best of shows. Did see J.Page at the concert for ARMS in 83 and he was not that much better, it may have been a case of too much hype, and not enough prep, caring or pride in his craft, and to add insult to injury, someone at the show had a Page is God shirt, ripping off the Clapton slogan, EC was and is WAY BETTER than JP...

  • @jiaconis Jimmy"s legacy will out shine eric"s, from 40 years ago, till the end of time!! (PLEASE)!!!

  • BAM Magazine had a pretty good article re the incendent with Grant, Bonham and Co. This was the only time I saw Zep, regrettable that it was not the best of shows. • @MrISatai

Happened before they came on, during one of the other band's sets I believe. They never came back to Oakland after that because the word got out what had happened, and they were concerned about getting arrested. Peter Grant should have done time at the house of sodomy, that fat fucking piece of shit

  • Pretty lousy performance all around. Sound was bad, they played like they hung over. We all had to wait for 2 hours while LZ manager Grant held up the show to force B.Graham to not to press charges for beating up the BGP employee. Graham later said he had eternal regrets for caving in. The should have thrown the whole fucking crew in jail. At the time we just chalked it up to another weak performance by a bunch burnout geezers.

  • @zephranna01 Priest cant hold a candle to ZEP!!!!! GREAT band!! but its not even close!!!!

  • I was at this show (Saturday, July 23rd) where Priest opened up. I didn't appreciate them at the time. Ironically, they became my favorite band 3 or 4 years later - wish I could hit the time machine and take it all in now! Don't recall them getting booed however. I thought Derringer stole the show, they were great! I also remembered Plants "nurse" shirt too. Right after he finished the harmonica solo to "Nobody's Fault But Mine", he threw the harmonica across the stage . . .

  • I was at the show. Don't remember much except the Coliseum acoustics sucked. Kind of spooky seeing this again. Thanks for the post. Those were some wild shows. Watching people pass out at 10 in the morning drunk or on whatever.

I'll never forget the time this guy passed out in line on the way in to see the Stones the following year. Cop walked up to him and yelled in his face, "Having a great time are you?" All time classic line.

  • For me si great that Judas Priest is opened for Led zeppelin,i know for the history the star of JP was risen 1977 live tour with Led zeppelin in US with Sin After S in album,oh yeah, without this album the metal music wouldnt be how we like it.right?who do not love Sin After Sin album?call for the priest

  • "Nurse's Do It Better"

  • Yeah baby! I was at this show too and really close to where this film was taken. I have still photos that look a lot like this. I'm pretty sure this was the day Plant's son died - he found out that night and they played the Sunday show anyway under a shroud of sadness - then cancelled the rest of the tour - never to play in concert again. Really sad but that's the way...

  • @duncie9487 Led Zeppelins manager beat the shit out of a bgp employee this day. LZ NEVER played in Oakland after this day. Why did they beat the shit out of a BGP guy, because thier mgrs son ripped off a name plate on another artists trailer!

  • I was at this concert, and yes Judas Priest were booed heavily. We didn't come to see them, but gotta give props to Derringer that day he rocked. I'm so glad I got to see these guys they were Gods, and I was just a humble servant. Sooo cool to read all these posts from people that shared the experience. Btw if anyone didn't know who the mime was that was entertaining the crowd, that was Robin Williams, didn't know it till years later.

  • why don't thay take all these rare videos and release them remastered on DVD and Blue Ray? Including the seattle 1977 show?

  • I was 17 and had a car, a large bag of 'shrooms, a case of Lowenbrau, weed, gas, cigs & tickets for BOTH DAYS! I owned the world..Saturday was awesome, and I stayed in the parking lot that night partying with whoever I met. Sunday was HOT, and lots of people on the green had squirt guns & water balloons, or I'd have fallen out. I thought they were going to cancel, as they were so late, but came through in the end. The best party I have ever attended. It seems like only a couple years ago

  • Comment removed

  • Boy this brings back alot of memories.... I was there...Where have the years gone!

  • damn what is sad is I have a buttload of zep on VHS.69'paris tv,supershow, earls court 75 on two tapes,77 seattle(from opening to kashmir) ,knebworth 79(august 11th I believe) srts alternate footage.just need to figure out how to modernize my collection someday..

  • This was the summer before my senior year in high school. Zep rocked this Billy Graham concert in Oakland. I remember sitting in the Outfileld stands passing weed and beer. I remember Robert Plant sounding off. I guess the boys had alot of problems back stage; Whatever, we had a great time

    3

  • How Rare and AWESOME was THAT !!!!!!!!

Oh MY thank you for posting that !

    WONDERFUL !

  • I was there.. Derringer (sp?) was on after Judas Priest.... they were cranking... on fire but the audience was flat... waiting for Zeppelin... I remember hearing Rick derringer asking off mic what the F*** is going on! Too funny... when Zep came on the Green was crushed from people coming down from the stands in a mad rush. They weren't so good on the Sunday I saw them but WTF it was Zeppelin! I will never forget!

  • cool, "presence". you could tell they were tired. almost a decade of non stop.

    long live led zeppelin.

  • Judas Priest opened for them. I had one of the most poisonous hangovers ever that day. Jimi Page was drinking Heineken. Ha!

  • Are you sure this is the 24th show. I swear its the one form the 23rd as Page is wearing the dragon suit and he didnt wear it the following day.

  • you know whats better then led zeppelin? led zeppelin.

  • @Canadiarockmusic Two Led Zeppelins?

  • I was at this show as well, at my normal place in short right field with a bunch of friends. Windy, overcast, and had to wait a couple of hours until they came on, but it was Led Zep, and I was damn happy to see them after the show the previous year was cancelled. Priest sucked bad, every song sounded the same. Derringer was awesome! Thanks for posting it!!

  • Nurses do do IT better!!

  • It wasn't before his son died. The tickets had gone on sale a couple months before and then his son died and the concert date was reset. Great show but there was a lot of violence on the part of Peter Grant and or Zeppelin crew beating the shit out of a collusium worker (I believe) almost to death. Bill Graham said never again.

  • @suzycreamchez123 Peter Grant, Richard Cole & Bonzo all charged after clobbering a security guard who snotted Big Pete's son.

Just finshed reading the Zep Bio "When Giants Walked The Earth" which covers Oakland extensively - well worth a read.

  • I got fired from the San Francisco ballet school(scholarship) for being there both days and we bought our tickets from a scalper! Never regretted it even tho the ballet let me back...and I was only 13

  • Heh, I was there too. Slept on the sidewalk the night before just to be one of the first to get in. Wouldn't try that these days...

  • I was there. I went both days. I took my gf the 1st and my little bro the 2nd what a strange venue though it was zep and greatful dead man how the green changed.-

  • the gangster was called binden i think

  • I just went to see Heartbreaker (Led Zepplin tribute band last night) and it made me go back through my photo albums to scan some pictures. I was at this concert and have two photos of Robert plant on stage. I must have been standing really close to this guy filming? I don't remember Judist Preist being booed? My biggest memory was how INCREDIBLE Rick Derringer was. Everyone was dancing through Derringer's entire set. Such fun. Zepplin was good but Derringer was more fun.

  • This was when London gangster who was friends with peter grant nearly killed a bouncer with his bare hands trying to take his ear off, eventually a swat team had to be called in

  • I was @ this show. Preist was boo-ed off the stage. But in all fairness, it was before their hey day. Their album @ the time was Sin after Sin. Most people were not familiar with the material. Rick Derringer was on fire. He was touring the classic "Derringer Live" set. When Zep came on they did Everything! Even the acoustic stuff from Zep 3. Too bad Bonham and JPJ got in a rumble with Bill Graham Presents personel. They never played the Bay Area after that. Great show.

  • I was at this show also and your description is about the way that I would have explained. One of the other things that I recall is that I had "Achilles Last Stand" stuck in my head for 6 weeks after the show!

  • I was replying to Elcerritogooze, my bad! I wanted to mention, that a year later, Judas Priest was headlining shows.

  • Does anyone remember outside the fence and when they opened the gates. Stampede Thirty two years ago I was a junior in H.S.

  • Sure do remember the stampede, a churning of human bodies and sleeping bags, pulsing forward en masse. Scary.

  • Do you remember how long we sat in the parking lot, after the stampede?

  • I have the bootleg to one of these shows. Very cool to see it on video.

  • Robert Plants son died 2 days after this performance and Led Zeppelin never played America again....

  • just stumbled into this - very cool - I was actually at this show - and unfortunately what I remember was the sound system was shit (as was most of the early day on the green shows - crap technology in those days) - but so what - I had a great time - shit I'm old!

  • I was at the July 23rd show and got there late Judist Preist was on stage when I got inside...but I remember scalpers trading tickets for a pack of cigarettes!! There was just way to many scalpers trying to sell tickets.

  • aww man lucky you, i heard Judas Priest were boo'ed during their performance though. how were they?

  • I don't remember them being boo'ed....but I didn't know who they were but I couldn't believe how this guy (Halford) could scream! I think Judist Preist was on Zep's own label at the time.

  • Part 1-Wow! I would've NEVER expected to see this on film. I was there as well!!! I remember Plants shirt saying something like "Nurses Do It Better." And I believe this was after he smashed his finger or thumb in a car door. Hmm wonder what went on in the hospital there? (: Man its like a time capsule. Its cool as hell seeing this and at the same time yearning as hell. Sure am glad I can call that my 'back in the day'.

  • Part 2-Wendy..Unmolested...good luck with that today eh? Just cooler times man.

Saw this show both days Sat. and Sun. When it was coming, I thought, man I haven't seen Zeppelin yet, who knows how long they'll be around, do it NOW! Man I'm glad I did just in time really.

    Bonham kicked ass!!

  • Part 3-Ringo from Fairfield and 3 years out of Fairfield High.

Played Bass and lead vocaled in a Band called Dustirose at the time.

Thanks for this post. I was up front and btw believe it or not Wendy I do remember a girl being surfed and smashing into the stage with the bikers coming to the rescue....I truelly do! What a freakin trip!!!

  • Dude! How cool is this?......... lol

And you're so right -- cooler times... It was a freakin' love fest, alright.... And look at us, all here, all these years later still smiling. :-)

  • This concert happened 9 days before I was born. I arrived into this world far too late :-(

I would have LOVED to see Judas Priest at this show, in their prime, really. Does anyone who went to this show know what Priest played that day?

  • I don't know the full set, but they certainly opened with "Let Us Prey / Call For The Priest", as they usually did on the 1977 tour.

  • i was amazed to find out people dont smoke pot out in the open at concerts now like they did in the 70s and 80s i dont think your even allowed to smoke cigarettes. nothing like a thick fog of pot smoke to intensify the light show.

  • ALSO - WOW EVERYBODY - HOW F*ING COOL IS THIS, TO 'MEET' ALL THESE PEOPLE HERE WHO I STOOD AND DANCED AMONGST ALL THOSE YEARS AGO.... !!!! love love love to you all in big massive 'FLASH MOB' type doses. :-)

  • I was there. Thank you SO much for posting this, how freaking cool... thanks to the band, good lord, the energy from that concert kept me going for over 30 years. Also Tx to all the nice people who surfed me UNMOLESTED down to the front of the stage early in the show - and to the bikers who saved me when I got smashed inTO the stage... it was a day I won't soon forget in my summer of dreams LOVE YA. Wendy from Chicago - Age 16 at the time... lol

  • Saw the Saturday show. Wasn't a big fan before but a HUGE fan afterwards. Truly spectacular.

  • I was there, I went to Mcateer HS, year of 77.... this is so cool to see 30+ years later. I rember the edge of the upper deck of the stadium had a sign "stairway to heaven" and thats what it looked like.

We were down front of course right about where this is shot. Awesome!

  • Was there! just turned 17 was like July 24-25 1977- left Reno drunk & stoned off our asses @ 2 a.m with two friends in Silver T-Top Trans Am. Dined and Dashed in Roseville or some such town on the way. Tickets were $11.50??? never paid so much! Judas Priest opened Rick Derringer followed- Zep didint go on til 5 or so because of big fight- Bonham Peter Grant kickin some ass- almost cancelled show- can still see the Fog of Smoke sweet smell of Pot by outfield fence (stage) show- LEGENDARY

  • So glad to have shared these legendary moments with you! peace

  • I saw you Wendy..such a trip!

  • My first concert, age 14. saw the Sunday show. yes the one with the very long wait.....The air was thick with magick (and pot smoke) Really, only a couple performances have ever come close. But then it was my first time. After all these years "The Song Remains The Same!"

  • My first concert, too! We were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky

  • I was there. Aged 17. Wow, what if we had known at the time this would be their last American performance ever? What would we have thought?

  • It would have been a complete mob scene, can you imagine? I remember thinking "afterward"... what a happy accident that I was there at all.

  • Nurses Do It Better....

  • KK Downing mentioned this show once in an TV interview. It was their first stadium show in America and he joked that,"everyone was there to see Priest."

  • the dude filming had some guts..if the ledZep crew saw a camera., you had to hide otherwise you'd get kicked hard..

  • Plant's son died. Wasn't that why the tour was scrubbed? And it was Peter Grant who was manhandling Bill Graham, as per usual. He bullied everyone when it came to the boys, and they were the better for it. This is really such cool footage, I wish there was more and better quality. Thanks for posting it!

  • Part 2 -

On this day they were refusing to perform unless Graham signed papers saying he wouldn't sue. Meanwhile , Oakland stadium was full of fans waiting in the hot sun for a show.

The tour was canceled after this show because Robert Plant's son became seriously ill.

A year or so later Bonham was dead and the band broke up making this the very last Led Zep concert in America.

  • Part 1 -

    Amazing!

Not only was I there but this was shot from right about where I was standing.

A little backstory. the day before John Bonham's ex FBI bodyguards viciously put one of Bill Graham's people in the hospital over a percieved slight concerning Bonham's kid.

  • AMAZING!! Where can I find a copy of this on cd...???

  • There's very little available from '77 tour..it is almost completlely eliminated from the double dvd

  • bittorrent

  • I missed it because I was too young...It's cool to see that the kids today are still wearing the Led Zeppelin Swan Song 1977 tour t-shirts....

  • the day robert plants son died

  • It's not the exact day, but it is the same year, I believe. I think this was slightly before, but I'm not sure.

  • ah lol na it was the next day they played twice

  • positivelyyxtina..I believe your correct in that. It seemed ike we heard about it maybe 2 or 3 days after that concert..but like you I'm not totally sure...a bit far back on the aging memory banks.

  • @positivelyyxtina This is the Saturday, July 23rd show. 1st of 2 in Oakland. You can tell because it's the only show of the tour where Page wears the black dragon Earl's Court outfit. The Sunday show, Page wore a black button down and white trousers. The following Tuesday, Plant, gearing up for the New Orleans Superdome show, received news of his son's death. So, this Oakland show is the 2nd to last ever in The U.S. Thanks for the 8:33! Up until now, I only had about 2 minutes of it.

  • @positivelyyxtina i read a book saying this was the concert before his son died, which was an awful tradegy.

  • yeah it was the day before

  • @positivelyyxtina Karac Plant died july 26 1977, so a few days after this concert.

  • @positivelyyxtina no it wasn't before his son died~they didn't play again after In Through the Outdoor. His son died after this show he got a call when they were in New Orleans.

  • Comment removed

  • @positivelyyxtina This was actually three days before his son died. Thanks for the upload man :)

  • @brandontylerkaiser

he died right before the show in New-Orleans, it was the same year and probably the same american tour tho.

  • @brandontylerkaiser @positivelyyxtina It is the same year, yes. But this concert is the incident of when Billy Graham, John Bonham, Peter Grant, and Richard Cole were involved in the infamous fight offstage. They then traveled to New Orleans, where Robert Plant received the news that his son, Karac Plant, died due to a respiratory infection.

  • @brandontylerkaiser Karac died when Led Zeppelin's 1977 North American Tour

  • LEGEND!!!!!!

  • Excellent! Extra Zep Points for Philr359!!!

  • I was there freezing my ass off . Judas Preist got booed off stage . John Bonnam got in a fist fight back stage with a security guard . they came out and said they had equipment problems . but later in rolling stone it said zep was going to leave and not play , so we had to wait till Bill Grahm came across the bay to talk to them , they played but you could tell they where not in to it .

  • Priest got boo'd offstage? That sucks, but I still would love to have seen this in concert cause Zep and Priest are 2 of my fave bands.

  • really?

  • I was there for the July 23 show and still have my ticket stub. Just incredible to be able to look at it again. Thanks! I just sent a text to my friends who were there also and told them they needed to check this out! Since I don't think you can make it out in this video, extra Zep Points for anyone who can correctly recall what Plant's shirt said.......

  • Nurses Do it Better ...is what Plants shirt says

  • I was at the second concert with my brothers - it seemed like we waited forever - they finally came out and, in retro, sucked - but, hey, it was Led Zep!

  • This sounds like their best concert on the American 1977 tour. I mean, some of the shows on that tour were sort of duds from Page's heroin addiction and Robert's weary throat, but this show seems to deliver.

  • Thanks for the correction.

  • John Bonham and Peter Grant were arrested at this show for fighting with Hell's Angels stage crew members.

  • Peter Grant and John Bonham were arrested after the first of two shows for beating up a Bill Graham Presents security guard who had told Peter Grant's son that he could not take an engraved redwood burl wood carving of the famous day on the green logo from the backstage area. So it was a clash of titans, probably nobody but Bill Graham would have had the balls to stand up to Led Zeppelin.

  • Thanks for posting this, I was at both Oakland shows. I never thought I'd see footage from them on youtube. Great memories. It's been a long time since i rock and rolled...

  • It's no problem :) I love it when I get comments from people who went to the shows.

  • I still have my photos from that day. If anyone else out there has photos from this show I'd love to trade!!!!

  • check out Immigrant Song live in Orlando (with backwards solo)

  • I miss the Bill Graham Presents, Day on the green !

  • I was in the front row!!! This is so fun, wish it was better quality, but hey, better than nothing!

  • I was in front to the right.... isn't it bizarre to see this again?.........

  • i could only imagine how led zep live would have been trippin on acid back then...oh my god.

  • If I could save time in a bottle

The first thing that Id like to do

    Is to save every day

    Till eternity passes away

Just to spend them with you.

If I could make days last forever

If words could make wishes come true

Id save every day like a treasure and then,

Again, I would spend them with you...

  • But there never seems to be enough time To do the things you want to do Once you find them I've looked around enough to know That You're the one I want to go Through time with. If I had a box just for wishes And dreams that had never come true The box would be empty Except for the memory Of how they were answered by You. (Jim Croce)
  • omg this is history!

  • I was at both the Saturday and Sunday concerts. the reason they went on late on Sudnady was that someone from Led Zep's road crew beat up one of the promoter's employees on Saturday, and Led Zep refused to go on until they got a signed statement that the employee wouldn't press charges.

  • conviviumman- Didnt Bonzo see some employee there at the side of the stage when he was taking a break between numbers or something like that "slap around or something to that effect". Peter Grants son?And then Bonzo hit the guy who hit Grants kid. And told Peter Grant and Richard Cole about this incident and then them two men proceeded to beat the bejusus out of him.The guy(employee) wound up in the hospital.I remember hearing this at that time I live north of the 49th parrallel I was not there.

  • Yes, actually the employee told Peter Grant's son to leave the Led Zeppelin signs up until after the shows were over on Sunday, and Bonzo and Peter Grant took offence. I was backstage for both shows, didn't see the actual beating, but heard about it later.

  • THEY RULE

  • This and the Kezar Stadium,SF 1973 concert are my favorite ever Led Zep shows. I see alot of Hayward love up in this place, yea I grew up there!!! East bay is always where the really heavy music is at.

  • Cool! I was too young to go, but I remember people talking about it.

  • I went to all of the Day on the Green concerts. They were in my High School days in Livermore,Ca.. Oh the good ole days!!! They were all day long awsome concerts...

  • July 24, 1977 was my birthday and I got 5 free tickets as B-day gifts. It was a good show, Sat was better. Sun was OK. Turned out to be the last show ever in the U.S.A

  • I was there,13 at the time, had to sneak out ,took the B.A.R.T. train from Danville,CA to Oakland....yeah they were late on Sunday, but they still kicked ass LedZep style.

There woulda been a f'n riot,if the OPD and BGP had'nt brought Bonzo and Peter Grant back from the jail.

    Dig It

  • I was in Jr High at the time, and I wanted to see that show so bad. As it turned out is was there last show (on tour) in the US. I would love to find a decent CD of this show. What a great band! There is a great DVD of the Seattle show that was before this gig, great gig!

  • try

    qualitybootz(dot)blogspot(dot)com

theres a copy of it there you can dl :)

  • Wow this Live Version from Battle of Evermore was very cool sad that there aren´t much live versions from this song :(

  • Wow. That is fantastic. And you're right. My older cousin (RIP) and my sister-in-law were at this show. I was about 9 at the time. The first Day on the Green I went to was in 1983: Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Loverboy, and Foreigner. Quite a line up. LOL.

  • omg, i was at this show, i was 16 with my sister who lived in hayward, i live in NC....1st time i got high with her!! LOL!! bongs anbd pipes for sale everywhere!

  • after this

Led Zep never play show\ in us?

3 times reunion all in UK?

    rick hall fame in US?

  • There must have been nothing better than seeing Zeppelin live.. especially bringing some reefer to blaze..

  • you got that right...no dope needed :)

  • went saturday, too burnt to use my sunday ticks....Derringer rocked that day. Zep ruled---SRTS 1st song --Can still hear that 1st cheer........Hayward!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I was there with my boda bag full of tequilla and bong. I burned a hole in my purse with a cigarette! Oh man, those were the days LOL!

  • Dude I was there with my bong!

  • There was no "Sunday show" It's was called a day on the green...

  • there was a saturday and a sunday concert. I remember because I was wondering if they were going to play after the altercation. I'm not sure what the coast of CA fire has to do with anything because the next scheduled date was New Oreleans. The skuffle according to the news was Bonham, Grant and Graham's security team - were you at the Sat or Sunday concert?

  • Yeahh...this particular Day on the Green left an everlasting impression on me...to this very day.

    * there was a delay before the Sunday show..had to do w/ the altercation.

    Remember?

July 23 and 24, 1977...I have my ticket stubs still...somewhere in my stuff, and the news clipping about the altercation...and then later on, when they went on to New Orleans, about Karac.

  • I just looked at the past comments about this concert..You either weren't there and wished you were, or you heard it from others and thought it would be cool to say to...We had no problems and were back stage..there were some issues. but not the drama you make them out to be. sorry didn't happen..the major issue was the fire trust me

  • Also there was no fight between Graham and Bonzo, (you can't create history) there was a skuffle, but not from them. and the reason that the concert was cut short was Plants son died, and the Rt 1 (coast of Ca) burned the entired coast

  • I was there as an "Adult" sorry dude, I got my back stage tickets from "Oddysey Records" remember them..There was no fight. they where pretty cool actually. Derringer was great with "I've got blister's on my fingers"

  • I can't believe this is out here!

My mom took my sister and I to this concert (Sunday show). The opening act was Rick Derringer and Judas Priest. It took 2 hrs for Zep to get onstage - they said Jimmy had a problem with his guitar. When they came on-Jimmy looked blitzed, but listening to this, he sounds good. We were lucky to have seen this as they almost didn't play because Bill Graham's security got beat up by Bonzo and others. Also lucky because this was the last concert in America.
