so you basically set up your computer as a dual-boot platform which is able to run both MAC-OS and Windows? How are you running this game on your Mac? I want it so bad but I am a Mac user.
@yugioh19312 Mine take 22 Gb but i think the installer check if at least 25 or 26 Gb are free. Anyway a windows partition with less than 1Gb free will not run fine.
@LoneArcane Oh come on dude, don't you get that this video IS for people who wants to see how this game runs with parralells ???? Of course I play this game with my bootcamp partition!
Oh by the way, the keyboard is backlit with some optic fiber and LEDs, what heat are you talking about ? The 0.005 W needed to light le LEDs ? Come on. Dude. Really.
@rongeur56 hey i was looking in the description and was having trouble getting the game going can you tell me where to change the parallels settings so i can fix it up like yours. Please and thank you
nice video im also doing the still but then i stop an started running it on bootcamp its better 2 do it that way, for me because i run more then one game on my macbook pro, like rift skyrim adp and more but, but i do like ur video
@rongeur56 i saw how you were clicking your attacks/abilities/buffs rather than using your numbered keybinds to do it. If you learn to break that habbit and use keybinds for EVERYTHING you'll soon see a lot of improvement. I'm not saying YOU're bad... just clicking. My friend used to be a clicker in wow and he still owned me all the time. but once he started keybinding he was untouchable to me :P
@AlexPeff Haha yeah, and how am I supposed to hold the camera then :D Thanks for the advice but I'm not a clicker! Anyway I learned a word thanks to you!
if anyone could help me out by answering this, i know SWTOR has script rewrite addons, but can u get an addon to allow the game to run on your mac without bootcamp
@rongeur56 Alright, thanks so much. And its the little thing that showed your gnu temp and all your specs. And how'd you get it to come on your screen like that?
@rongeur56 hey man do you think i can run it on lowest? not to laggy sure it can freeze a bit lol. 2.13Ghz Intel core 2 duo 2gb ram and NvidiaGforce9400m? its an macbook 5,2 13"
Runs very nice mate. I have a Early 2011 MBP with a 1Gb 6950M and i7 2.2Ghz and it runs extremely well inside Parallels (40-50 FPS)
However, running this game Natively under Bootcamp I get around 4-5 FPS. So their engine does have some issues at the moment and we may see better performance yet out of Parallels.
I will say that the input lag running under Parallels (especially the mouse) is pretty bad. You have to turn SmartMouse off to get a decent response time and then the Cursor dissapears.
@SaltySutek I had the same issue. It comes from the ati driver in bootcamp. I made a new bootcamp partition with a clean windows install and then it was good.
P.S: Haha yeah it would be awesome to have a 6950m in a mbp!
@rongeur56 When you say "the ati driver in bootcamp." do you mean the Catalyst from ATI's website or the native bootcamp apple supplied driver is the problem?
Im running the 12.1 Preview drivers at the moment but did try to revert back to the Native bootcamp ones with no change.
@SaltySutek Okay I just solved the issue by doing a clean bootcamp install and not installing the Catalyst drivers. Thanks for that @rongeur56. Been pulling my hair out for weeks.
@SaltySutek Yeah the Catalyst drivers screwed up everything when I tried to install them. I think they are intentionally bad for macbooks. Just stick with bootcamp drivers and try ATI traytool for overclocking !
I doubt it I have a Mid 2010 MBP with 8 GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 512 MB it's playable but jerky. Although that is on an external 27" mac display. I'm going to try it with out the display just to check it out but if I can't use my badass display then I don't feel compelled to play it.
Hey man I have a 2.4GHz 13" Macbook Pro with 4GB or RAM and I just need your help with the setup. Also, why use Parallels when you could use Bootcamp? Please respond back as soon as possible. Thanks!
can u show me how to do this? I'm running a 27 in IMac and running swtor throughs parallels.. but i have to run on low and its running so badly.. plz help!

how much GB that game needs?
because i have bootcamp and only 24 GB free

Use Bootcamp not parallels...on parallels you have to run the Mac operating system and windows......versus on bootcamp your only running windows.

Do you think i'd be able to run smoothly with:
processor: 2.4 Ghz Intel core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
?????????
mycomputerfroze 1 month ago
@mycomputerfroze It depends on your gpu.
rongeur56 1 month ago
@rongeur56Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB graphics.
also, in your vid that mini screen you pulled up, is that an app or what??
mycomputerfroze 1 month ago
@mycomputerfroze There are videos on youtube showing the game running on HD3000, so I guess you should check that. I don't think it will run smoothly.
What mini screen ? Maybe my widgets, or the OSX Lion expose feature.

@rongeur56 Alright, thanks so much. And its the little thing that showed your gnu temp and all your specs. And how'd you get it to come on your screen like that?
mycomputerfroze 1 month ago
@mycomputerfroze Ok this is a widget called istats pro (free on apple widget website).
It comes on my screen because I made a shortcut to bring it when i tap my trackpad's bottom left corner!
The other corners are shortcuts for cmd+q ,cmd+w and cmd+t. These shortcuts are very handy in everyday use.
Try BettertouchTool, it's a fantastic app!

@rongeur56 Wow, BTT is awesome! Thanks!! I hope SWTOR runs smoothly on my mac. Thank you again!

The game from the appstore is Knights of the Old Republic, which is 5 years old (and yet remarkable)

@DCMR41 For every game, every app, bootcamp is better, faster, period. The thing is that somme people don't want to have a bootcamp partition.

@rongeur56 okay, i have a mid 2010 MBP with 4gb of memory, do you think it would run smooth through bootcamp?
DCMR41 1 month ago
@DCMR41 With all settings on low, on a fresh bootcamp install, you'll get 45-55 fps for sure. Maybe more.
On bootcamp, with all settings on low, I get a constant 120 fps ! But my GPU is better so ...
