  • good job, I wish I had one..btw whats the name of the music?

  • OMG...

It looks so much better before the transformation :-(

    Poor Bug!

  • Start the video again and its clear that this bug looked better to start with.

  • hello very nice you car, sir where buy the fenders wider fiberglass fender?

  • im very jealous!

  • Buen trabajo amigo... !!!

  • Nice job! What dimentions are the rims and tires? Is it lowered?

  • goo looking bug I still like the stock rims and hub caps better and I think you should left the bumpers chrome

  • la pintura gris esta de la verga

  • looks pretty good...well, it did :/

  • whats the size of your rims?

  • nice job man

  • Beautiful job! 5 stars

  • where did you get your tail lights ? is the whole lens totally clear or just the top and bottom? great looking car!

  • The tail lights are only clear on the top and bottom. The tail lights are very hard to find but I found them on eBay. Thank you for the comment!

  • Looks pretty cool. It is amazing how there are a million Camry's on the road and the only way to tell them apart is the license plate, and there a million bugs on the road and they are all different.

Check out what I did to my bug. 1962 to 1957 transformation. Peace.

  • Dude I like your ride man, have you fixed it yet? I'm in the middle of restoring a 1200 1972 Beetle. I have alot of work to do but so far it's been fun, did you do the paint job with spray paint? I still don't know if I'm going for the hood ride look or if I'm going to paint it. There's alot of work to be done including fitting a new head liner, carpets, seat covers, painting the floor with Por15 and so on. Goodluck with fixing her up man.

  • My Bug is all fixed up and running again, thanks for asking. As far as the paint, yes it is Spray paint. Good luch with your project!!!

  • it is nice, u need to stick another vid up when you get it fixed from the ditch incident. i got 2 70's. like the pop out windows you did, and where did you get those headlamps? they look like hid but i know theyre halogen

  • I had a set of those same headlights on my baja. They are on ebay. I prefer the Halogen H4s as opposed to the ebay versions, although they did have a built in park light like the early VW.

  • Thank you for the complement! The bug is fixed up and running again. I've been meaning to take it for a spin on the same road I crashed on, but ever since the crash, the steering has been really touchy. As soon as I fix that, I will take it for another spin and make another video.

As for the lights, I bought them off eBay. They are Blue Halo Headlights. As for the bulbs, they are H4's. Very bright!! Just don't forget to turn off your lights! The H4s drain the battery!

  • real nice car, i love bugs, i will buy one this year, its a promise i made to my father.......anyway. the question is ...um..how long did you take to transform the bug? and also was it really that expensive, or not that much?....

  • Thanks! It took me 2 months to transform my bug ( 3-6 hours a day 5 days a week). I could have finished it in in a month and a half but I ran into a problem that I had to order a specail tool. As for the cost, it was a ltille over $800 to fix it up.

About $500 for the 2" wider fiberglass fenders, wider bumpers, and wide running boards.

I got the rims and tires $150 from a "Pick up only bid" off ebay.

The rest was brakes, hoses, sway bars, etc...

  • I really like the paint job!

  • Can you believe I painted it all with "rattle can" spray paint?! About 26 cans of Rustoleum! Orange, gray, silver, and clear coat!

  • I love doing Rattle Can Paint jobs. You can spray on clear coat and make it just a shiny as the real thing for a little while. And, ----- if, ------ you know, --------well, ----a, ditch should just get in your way. -----Let's just say it's easier to match the paint. LOL

  • Great job!

  • i love thoese wheels, do they rub at all? i also like how you did the paint

  • The wheels only rub a little on the larger front sway bar. If I stuck with the stock sway bar, I wouldn't be rubbing at all.

  • I see that someone already asked you about the wheels and that they are 17x7. I know this is a dumb question but are they rear wheel drive wheels? What bolt pattern are they and do you happen to know the offset? A lot of questions, I know. But no one can answer them for me. Any help would be appreciated.

  • The wheels are a "Rear wheel drive" Ford 5x114.3 (Mustang pattern). The offset is a 40mm. I am running 205/40/17 Front and 215/50/17 in Rear tire.

  • FYI I had to get 2inch wider fenders to fit these wheels. I also added a 1/4" spacer just so the wheel wouldn't rub on the upgraded 3/4" front sway bar. The wheels still rub the sway bar a littlebit on at full left turn. I think if I kept the stock sway bar, I wouldn't have had to deal with spacers.

Putting bigger rims can get very tricky and expensive! If you have any other question, let me know.

  • Thanks for the help. Your bug looks great by the way. I hope to get mine in that good of condition someday.

  • I love those headlights you got on there. May I ask where you got them? Check out my page sometime and let me know what you think of my bug. I just got it so its no where near complete at all.

  • I got them off eBay. You can usually find them under "Beetle Halo Headlights."

  • damn, just great

  • What's the name of the song????

  • "eple" by "Royksopp" off the album "Melody A.M."

  • hi,

i got a 1970 bug that i am currently working on and i saw your video and i gotta say what you did to that thing is outstanding. You didn't go to extream which i like. i also like your choice of wheels. you dont by any chance know how much those cost? it's sick how you paint the car black and orange, i never would of thought those colors would go that well together. Again, good job!

    ~Mike

  • I like what you've done with your Beetle! I like how you've personalised it with the paint scheme, wheels & headlights... it makes it stand out :)

My girlfriend has a '69 Beetle which she restored which features in my camper resto video somewhere!

  • what are the headlights? and the wheels? whats the engine? i have a '71 i obsess over and that is one of the best sets of mods i have seen! updated without losing the original bug feel. well done!

  • Thank you!! With as Much time I put into working on my bug, your comment means a lot! To answer your questions, The Headlights are Halo Headlights, 17x7 Enkei wheels, 1776 duel port motor! Thanks again!

  • nice work

  • That's A Freeken Nice Bug Dude. I got a 1970 VW Bug Myself

  • Thank you!
