I have 2, and they are some of the best behaved small dogs ever. It certainly took a lot of work however, and the males are easier than the females. They are STRONG MINDED! You absolutely have to be their boss, which they will ultimately love you for.
I had an Aussie Terrier but about 5 years ago she jumped off the steps and ruptured her ACL in her knee. We had it fixed, but only 2 years ago she did the same thing and did her other knee. She was already showing signs of struggling on her old knee, so we had her put down :( poor dog. She also had an auto-immune disease and had to take cortosone tablets every day. She was gorgeous too. :(
My beautiful Aussie Terrior is named Boy. He's 14 now, very wobbly and only 20% of his liver is working, has dementia - but is still the best dog I've ever known - still acting like he's a 1 year old, running around and barking his head off!
