1. it's not tuning at all. 2. who the fuck is this guy? 3. it sounds to me like they picked up some homeless drunk off the side of the freeway looking for change. 4. he can't hold a drumstick right.
I saw a review of the product, and I must say this would be really handy for determining drum's sweet spot. One can so easily change the whole head's pitch without getting it uneven in between. Also the search is faster, as there's 6, 8, 10 or 12 rimes less screwing. Otherwise this is a very useless gimmick, if one knows how to tune drums.
its not completely useless but, its not substitute for manual tuning, nothing is. This device im assuming tightens each lug simultaneously, but because of manufacturing differences/varying head tension I dont believe that every lug is going to be exactly the same
no. it isnt. they both suck, and im not talking about tuning devices. im talking about the sound of that tom. not to mention the torque is is bad because all lugs dont have the exact resistance as others. i have lugs that move like butter and other that are rough to tighten.
anyone remember Arbiter drums? they had a built-in one piece tuning system and sounded great.. not sure how this add-on stuff will work though, but all products out there will appeal to someone, even if i don't like it
The thing about drums that nobody really realizes, is that every drum is different, so when you tune your drums, the tuning is not going to be the same for everyone elses kit. BUT i think that this system is cool to keep all the lugs at the same pitch, so once you figure your drums out, you can use this thing to tune each side the way u want. with a guitar tuner for drums, the tuner would half to know what your drums are like:P
i think hes just saying the note because each drum will have a certain note ( so ive heard) or something... I thought a bass tuner would work but didnt really
we need electronic drum tuning.. flick a switch pick a note.. vupti drums are tuned.. i dont get it if they pull same weight and the drums aren't tuned before u use his thing will it then tune 100% ?
wtf is this shit? if you cant tune a drum you sholdnt have any.beginers will never learn if they have this thing that im sure is expensive and unreliable
I agree, keep the tradition of original drums, these guys are always trying to come up with new useless invention because the concept of drums are so simple to begin with.
This looks like the future for drum tuning.. and the next thing will be automated.
Too bad it's that expensive..
It really isn't, but i just don't have the money for it. If it was 20$ each, i would buy some for the top heads of my drums, and if they were 15 $ i would buy for the bottom aswell, but 36-39 $ is a bit much... though it's an investment for a long period of time.
hah, thats cheating tuning and not all the lugs are always the same and i feel like that isnt good for your drums in the long run, just learn to tune the old fashion way, thats what im doing
well, i'm going to bet that all the people commenting on how lame this is are the people who post drum covers on youtube with terrible camera sound quality and horribly tuned drums.you can't possibly sit there and say, "YEAH THIS IS LAZY." NO, this is a better, more efficient way to tune. just like the progression from black and white TV to color/HD TV. it's something we call PROGRESS. and if this made tuning quicker, i would use it so i could spend more time playing/learning rather than tuning.
i dont use a tuner when i tune my guitar... i just tune it to itself or a recording i have of all open strings in perfect tune with multiple tuninings
Drums should be tensioned and tuned using ropes, that's the only true way. Forget them silly screws and keys and whatsamacallem trying to make the thing easier.
I'm sorry I would have to agree that, that is pure laziness. Tuning drums is something you should take pride in. WTF is up with people these days,do they want everything to be push button?
After I spent some learning how to tune drums years ago, I realized that there is no need for fancy tuning contraptions. Good drums stay in tune, and tuning them is easy if you've spent some time learning how. This product makes the most sense for those with money and don't have the time to spend closeup with their drums learning how they work.
lug nut? it's a tension rod. This guy is awkward and has no idea what he's talking about. Maybe he's nervous? cool product. wish it wasn't so ass rapingly expensive.
1. it's not tuning at all. 2. who the fuck is this guy? 3. it sounds to me like they picked up some homeless drunk off the side of the freeway looking for change. 4. he can't hold a drumstick right.

Acctaully if your computer has good speakers.. this drum does not sound that bad.
you just need speakers with good bass. and the drum sounds pretty good.
so it is showing you that this product is not completly useless.

Why is there such a big fuss about tuning drum heads??!!
Learn to tune your drums and explore the possibilities.
If you can't you, shouldn't be playing....PERIOD!!
Buy an amazing looking kit and then fuck it up by putting all this crap on it...GREAT!!!

i dont think an automatic tuner will improve anything
but i think that it would be great if they could make a device that tells you if your drums are in tune
like a guitar tuner

I guess our ears tell us what sounds right.. but I guess you have to know what sound you would like to achieve...
Sound in my opinion is down to personal taste, but there are some notes which are sweeter to the ears than others.
I guess, just listen to your favorite records, and spend many many hours experimenting with the endless possiblitie of SOUND.
Creating your OWN sound will identify you also as a Musician.
LeDrumster 2 years ago
The sound you create will also speak through your style.
Who knows..... I don't that's why I'm here.
