choefoe, i couldnt agree with you more. this song is an absolute favourite of mine, because it's genuinely a good song all round, but its lyrics confront every single stereotype out there, and a hell of alot of conflicts. that's what music's about. expression of emotion and thoughts.

@CherryErry joe is NOT into meeting fans..very guarded. I ran into him backstage at a marianne faithfull concert in New York . I was very humble and asked if he would sign my program and he said "Im not here for YOU im here for Mariainne"> and walked away...oh well....

@Choefoe I double checked . If was After Show Irving Plaza NYC early 2004. Joe never said he loves his fans so he is what he is. I also saw him walking by Virgin records (closed now) on 14th St and I just waved..I didntr walk over..and he saw and ignored me....so he does not want any contact with fans. I guess he wont be doing the "meet and greet" VIP ticket package like so many others who over-price tickets to shake hands lol.

@Choefoe He is shy and he is very guarded. That IS his nature. A friend of mine who owned a booking agency met with him in the erarly 90's o sign him for several club dates. He ans Joe to take a photo with him and his girlfriend and Joe got really annoyed and left. I guess he felt a personal invasion. Wasn't expecting to HAVE to take a photo. I can understand that.

Carly Simon, Bob Dylan, Donald Fagan (of Steely dan), Tracy Chapman. ALL of them as well as JOE are shy. They are not into the social scene backstage, the yare interested in performing the music as best they can. Not unusual. Just dont make EYE CONTACT with them and everything is ok

No autographs or acknowledging fans who are simply customers He won't do re-union of 1960's sitcom "the Likely Lads."My opinion (irrelevant here) is that is wrong because the "job" they and sportmen do is something ordinary people do for pleasure. You don't see them or anyone working in shops, factories and offices unpiaid to chill out. while others act, sing and do sport in leisure.
