I would also like to point out that despite that fact that these movments may not APPEAR to be tactically sound and they may appear like they would not work in direct combat that doesnt mean they dont have purpose. These sorts of forms dont always translate DIRECTLY to combat at least not in the same way they are practiced however they develop reflexes and contact reactions that DO function in combat . This man has hidden reflexes even he may not know about but if he was attacked they would show
Thats pretty cool , i have a pair of butterflies though i use them in my own ways . I like to watch the traditional methods their so finley honed . I do things very differently(and with many kinds of "short blades") but i can still appretiate the way others use the same weapons i like to use . I like all the rolls and low strikes . shows alot of stability and flexability . Cool video thanks for posting.
@m4killa97 its a form... its not meant to be use as defencive move.. you use parts of the forms to defend yourself but remember martial arts was illegal in china in the old days so they made up forms to like dance.. but really there are deadly hidden moves in the forms. but again this isnt meant to help you defend yourself
This thread is ridiculous, this teacher is obviously trained in fu jow pai, under Tak Wa Eng, end of story, the naysayer should post a video response. This is Fu Jow pai, i've seen it in person before dozens of times.
I'm sure your form is great... and considering your commentary, your ability to apply the techniques contained therein are poor, at best. Good job gambleyourhealth. You've proven you learned little in your training.
You speak out of turn and out of ignorance "renshi" aliotta. Spare those who know your belief that you are somehow the caretaker of knowledge - unless of course you are going to explain your 'lineage' here - not that any claim would mean anything here.
Address my original comment or hold your tongue. You know nothing of my experience or knowledge and you blather like a true westerner. Go back to your strip mall martial comedy and keep believing in your 'black belt' superiority.
Don't speak to me of respect when your first comment to me was to make assumptions about a lack of application... You are simply passive aggressive, like I said. You only know respect for forms and puffing up like an angry animal at perceived threats.
Your lineage is unknown to those outside of your school and comedy to those in rival schools. I was trained by Cylc, Cross, and Poultney - teachers you would never know, and whose school you would never make it through.
What's humorous s that I was saying 'gambleyourhealth' was erroneous in saying this was the 'worst' and 'poor'... but you are so excited about defending your ego you assumed the attack was against you, "renshi" aliotta.
Master yourself before you seek to master others by way of internet commentary.
i dont know that. maybe names reveal something about ones self or not. But knowledge stands not in titles i must say. knowledge is something gained and even proved sometimes. Yet you havent answered my question, sorry for the ignorance again. have a nice day

Probably the worst example of butterfly swords I have seen. I am sure that SIFU was meant and not "sensei".
There was more footwork than sword work in this poor example of a great form.

I was thinking the same thing.... -_- when did Japanese sword sensei's ever teach the Chinese Butterfly sword forms.
thewhoopimen 2 years ago
sensai means sensei?
excuse me for my ignorance but isnt sensei a japanese term where this form looks familiar with hung ga, a chinese martial art?
