  • Pro tip: Don't just use pentatonic notes, take the 2 and 6 of diatonic natural harmonic too. You can make interesting melodies if you include them! Also the blue note and #5 are great...

  • Neal, i play for a big band called Hothouse and they've asked me to do a solo over final countdown, all i know is that the solo is on the 15th fret scale, they want some quick tapping, if you can help me learn it for Saturday i would appreciate it :) Thank you :)

  • What Equipment was used in this video? I love the tone you get in all of your videos!

  • why do I always get vibrations from the other stings when i two hand tap? It somehow gets sound out of the other strings and sounds horrible

  • @petewat98 it takes a little muting practice, this video has some good tips for you: Thumbnail Guitar Tricks 44: Stop String Noise -Neal

  • @DirtyGhettoOmalette

No I am way to young to have arthritis and I don't have small hands... I also am not a beginner.. I have been playing for almost 2 and a half years and my hand never cramps or hurts except when I do my barre chords...

  • Dear Guitartricks,

I have a problem with Barre Chords... I can play them good an even switch too them easily it's just that if I play them for about 2 minutes in a row my upper wrist and lower thumb starts hurting and cramping up and I can't find any better way to do them.. Help!

  • @ZacharyM24 there alot of different things it could be do you have arthritis? you could need a guitar with a smaller neck if your hands are small or you could just experiment with different fingerings idk if your a begginer or not but if you are its prty normal for your hands to cramp after a while

  • @ZacharyM24 this is normal, make sure and rest your hands between practice, the wrists are sensitive. If you play standing up with a strap, try raising your guitar some, this helps.

As your muscles get stronger your hands and wrists wont hurt as much.

    -Neal

  • you should do a lesson on pinch harmonics

  • @Sean5300 /watch?v=fNhxMfCJf_Y

    that is done :D

  • @Sean5300 did one! #6 :)

  • But steel wool wont damage the arm of the guitar?

  • @hardyslash it won't damage the back of the neck if it's "0000" grade steel wool.

  • nice ending :)

  • I was using steel wool to scrap off the finish on one of my older cheap guitars, will it be alright to use on more expensive necks? And I don't get what you mean by 4 O's. thanks for the help bro

  • @yoimHoHo "0000" is the grade, the finest grade. If you google "steel wool grades" you'll get more. It's like sandpaper grades. -Neal

  • again, could you please show some good amp setting or effects to improve our riffs and solo

  • @mjguitar6132 I'm with this guy. Also keeping good sound with chords playing with distorton.

  • Ca I use Furniture polish?

  • @hardyslash No, stay away from furniture polish!

  • @Guitartricks So what sould I use?

  • @Guitartricks What can I use? (I don't know what this steel wall is) I'm Portuguese, so there are some things that I don't know =/

  • @hardyslash Ola! Steel wool is a lot of very fine steel wire made into a fabric. Sou portugues tambem!

  • @hardyslash steel wool. not wall. go to the cleaning section of a store. or a hardware store.

  • @Guitartricks
