LOVE the energy/borderline hyperactivity in this performance. I don't think there is an "old" Green Day and a "new" Green Day but I think there is an older Green Day and a yonger Green Day ;)
@TCleavemealone yep, it's so not cool how people say "there's a difference between the 'old' green day, and the '2012' green day. I think that stuff is over-rated. the only band ive ever seen REALLY change A LOT is my chemical romance. Green Day is gonna stay for a LONG time.. Green Day aint gonna die folks :)
@zombiesinzerahemla There ARE differences between the band's old stuff and newer stuff. Their sound matured, they branched out into politics, added more instruments, tried new sounds, Billie Joe's lyrics became more poetic, etc. There's a BIG time difference between then and now. Like, over a decade! It'd be weird if they stayed exactly the same for that long.

And the change that Green Day's seen wasn't with the snap of a finger, like some bands, it was gradual - it was natural, and took time. Also, their newer "2012" stuff actually sounds like a mix of a lot of different albums, old AND new.
