This does not capture the creepy side of Higurashi. Thos Umineko openings are much better. However, I like the songs.

No, but it definitely captures the sadness that is behind the creepiness. It was definitely creepy at first, but after rewatching the show (I'd read the game, but I can't) and knowing the answers/truth behind everything, I can only feel sadness/pity towards the events of everything.

I WANNA KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT HIGURASHI!!!!! But the only things that i have been able to watch are the anime's Higurashi no naku koro ni, Sequel Kai, and last part Rei. I've seen that there are side arcs with extra characters and storie arcs about the higurashi universe, anyone know how i can best enjoy this series????

@SFGK huuh hard to say, atm Umineko no naku koro ni is the thing, you can download the 1st EP free from Witch Hunt translation site, it explains some things from different angle, different people, different place

@Anhiksi Thanks for replying! But i've already read EP 1-7 and am waiting for EP 8 translation pack. I was referring to the fact that some characters from the Higurashi anime do not appear on the DS or manga versions and i wanted to enjoy those extra arcs. XD

I love Shinra Etsuko's songs becuase in everyone of her song, she puts lots of feeling into it and listening to the song leaves you with powerful emotional feeling and sad, at the same time!!!

They never added the bit about the twins switching in the anime because the creators thought it would be too confusing for the viewers.

Even so, the Mion as Shion in the anime is my favorite Higurashi character, while on the opposite the Shion who is Mion is my least favorite of the cast. The Shion we see in the anime will be Shion for me and will be my favorite<3 I love her arcs, they'e so deep.

Mion=Shion & Shion=Mion. They were switching one day and Shion (one who likes K1) got the Tattoo, and Mion (one who likes Satoshi) got the shaft in the situation, so they both had to change names.

hey i was read Mion's story on wikipidia and it says that Her real name is actually Shion, as she was born second to the family, but due to sister swapping even at a young age, she was mistakenly taken as Mion and branded with the oni tattoo, ultimately causing her to stay as Mion. Mion also serves as leader of the after-school club consisting entirely of the main characters.

I KNow that! But i heard a rumor on the game that maybe Shion and Mion had switch places, and accidentally Shion gots Mion's tatto and became Mion. That's only what i heard. what i mean it that if they switch placed when they were small i would be no problem for them that they have switched their names usw because both of them changed their roles alot . So the would possible listen to the name of their Sister even If for Example Mion would be called Shion she WOULD React ^^

But my Theory wouldn't work at all i think haha cause Mion / Shion (cause we dont really know ) got the tatoo when she was a Baby right ? :D

What I know is that when Mion and Shion where young they exchanged places sometimes, but accidentaly in the day of the tatoo Shion was in the house and Mion in the city, that is why Shion has the tatoo of the family.

Yea, I remembered that now ^^'' Okay, forget what I wrote in the previous comments, here's how it really goes FOR SURE THIS TIME: The Mion we know have the tattoo on her back and is the heir of the Sonozaki family. But as I said, when they were small, they switched identities on the day of the tattoo. So the Mion we know is actually Shion and vice versa. This means that the Shion we know is actually the true heir. Hope this makes sence now ^_~
