Your using heel toe, thats not a metal techniuqe but its deffinetly very efficent for playing fast. When I go very fast, I use heel toe, one thing I notice; you seem tensed up. Relax as much as you can take deep breaths before you start playing and when you begin to play fast dont flex or anything shake out. You definetely are a great drummer, but if you plan on being in a band heel-toe wont work as its not loud enough for metal, and relax to fatigue less and play faster. Nice vid.
@netterhaufen You ever heard double bass in metal? Its the loudest thing you hear in the drum part. Watch the video Chiron by Al That Remains, hes fucking rolling, and he is deffinetely not heel toeing.

@dcla1999 lol drummings not a competition and i can name 50 drummers who beat joey in every category, joey is a great drummer but he gets too much credit, just like travis barker and lars ulrich

@TheFiechtner there is no metal technique or non-metal technique! double bass is double bass and if it is too silent usually triggers are used....

but if u want to get faster, buy some thinner soled shoes, they help a lot.
