@FeiLong2310 Yeah, as SykFlo already commented, this was indeed 100% made my the Mortal Kombat-developers. It uses the same graphics engine as MK4 (it's basically MK4 with more weapons and all of the characters are "gods"), it was in the arcades at the same time too.

I mean, War Gods was a once-off game, and was obscure even back when it was released, so it is alot more forgettable than Killer Instinct, which had 2 sequels and was considered to be the best MK-type (wasn't really a rip off) game of its time! Either way, both games would be alot more fitting than....eurgh...DC... Thank god MK9 washed that bad taste outta my mouth :)

I still have a soft spot for War Gods. Yes, the graphics weren't too pretty and the whole game was rushed, but in a time when Z-axis movement in 3D fighting games was limited to the same double-tap sidesteps, War Gods' 3D button gave us three different speeds for moving into the "depth" dimension: walking, sidestepping and diving, in that order of speed. The slower you moved, the harder it was to dodge attacks, but the faster you could react and set up counterattacks. It was very ingenuitive.

Not many games would pit a witch against a Roman gladiator or a living statue against an Aztec priest, but there you have it. It would have been neat to include more "pedigree" gods too; Anubis was cool, but they could have brought Raiden back, added some gods like Thor, Athena, Ogun and Morrigan, replaced Grok and Exor with Ares and Zeus....

I'd NEVER put that game down.

I think my combat simulator character has 32 24 hour days of playing time. This is a VERY bad copy of Mortal Kombat. As a MK fan I must say this is terrible. First of all, the graphics suck. When the man's voice says "BEGIN" I almost laughed. They only changed "FIGHT" for that word. PERFECT VICTORY (MK = FLAWLESS VICTORY). PROVE YOURSELF (MK = FINISH HIM/HER). I repeat, this is a VERY AWFUL cheap copy of the greatest game of the world...
