Lucille is just one of many examples why American country fans are missing the boat if they ignore Canadian singers. I fortuantely grew up on the U.S. shores of Lake Erie and could listen to Canadian radio from Toronto, Hamilton , Windsor and even Sudbury. So I was listening to Buck Owens and George Jones right along with Orval Prophet, Tommy Hunter, Tom Connors, Don Messer and Wilf Carter and I consider myself much the richer for it.
Been listening to this kind of music for 60 plus years and never heard of Lucille. She sings as good or better then anyone I have ever heard . Thanks for posting this.
I've been playin country music for 30 years an this is the first time i've ever seen this woman. What an incredible talent she is. I guess she was to much of a threat to the established nashville stars of the day.
She does remind me of the old country singers in style and sound...not to much a fan of the rapid vibrato. But, she has a great band and stays on pitch and performs well. Storms Never Last was a hit of a friend of mine from way back, Dottsy! Her manager..the late Happy Shahan of The Alamo Village in Brackettville, Tx., was also my boss and friend. She was his big star as well as Johnny Rodriquez. I was only 15 when I started working at Alamo Villiage, I was and am a singer. Keep on singing!
What a voice--this is why I love Youtube. I actually like her doing this better than Jesse COliter, as she has a stronger voice. i live in WV, is she from here? I notice the bank's name is the WV Railroad Band.
great singer, heard her for the first time. Her style is superb the likes of what country music is lacking today great song, great entertainer. thanks for the post.
Lucille has a fantastic voice. She does both of these songs, which are old favorites of mine, better than other artists - for me anyway. She has a lot of personality which is wonderful and I am sure all of her performances are terrific. I love her hair - I am still wearing mine that way no matter the latest styles. LOL. The band is great and the guys look and sound like they really enjoy their work with Lucille. Thank you for posting - Paula
Lucille Sarr was born in Canada. She grew up on the west coast in British Columbia, at a time when only the best made it in country music. She teamed up and married Bob Regan. Her album "The French Song" was a hit.
Like many stars, she made several tours across Canada and the USA. She deserves an honourable mention, and from all of us in western Canada, we'll always have good memories of you.

Thanx for posting all the Lucille Starr. I've loved this woman's talent since my teens. Can remember hearing The French song and being thrilled with that voice and reduced to tears and spine shivers at the same time. AWESOME
Looking forward to seeing and hear this wonderful country legend when she arrives in Sherwood Park, Alberta on Feb. 13th...Let's hope that she brings her thrilling voice to our listening ears that very day.
Dearnofords,Lucille will be at the Festival Place in Sherwood Park on Sun. Feb.3@2:00p.m. You can get tickets there or at ticketmaster,as there are still seats left for that show. C.F.C.W. has the info also. Goodluck, Patty
Can you imagine the voices if Jessi Colter and Lucille Star sang harmony together. In my book it just would be heavenly.
