@MASTERLINKX123 The ROM got leaked on the internet a few years back. Romhackers polished it up into the product that I'm playing here. Shame it was never released, it's great!
@Gargoyle200725 They thought that the Nintendo 64 would be coming out soon, and that SF2 would be overshadowed by it. Turns out the N64 came out over a year later, and SF2 would have sold millions, but that's hindsight for ya.
I like the strategic elements, but I'm a child of the Star Raiders days, so that's a given :)
I wonder if they just fixed bugs, or if there was some content added. Would like to see more games like this, with the set goals, defending people, time management. Also, transforming ships are cool :)
@Revegelance It's one of those games that requires learning the keys, and some of the behaviors of the game are a bit counter-intuitive. I still love to play it, although I've reached a point where I can get the top rank on the hardest difficulty after a few warm-up games, so it's not something I feel I need to play. I can't say that about pretty much any other game in existence :) If were to do a Let's Play of any game, it'd be that, but I don't think this PC is fast enough to capture it well.
Pilot lingo. It means you killed off an enemy. In this case, the battleship.
Anyways, this looks amazing. The whole "real time" concept of it looks like it was implemented very well. If they released this, I'm sure it would have sold over a million copies.
Wait, "real time?" Oh I see. So it's really more like Starfox 24.
"The following takes place between 00:00 and 15:00." Hm, I wonder if Kiefer Sutherland would make a good Fox McCloud...
Seriousy though, this game is pretty ambitious for 16-bit. I mean, it's FULLY 3D. Not even the Genesis went that far. And we all know Sega does what Nintendon't.
Oh, so Star Wolf's debut was in this game! Guess I was wrong when I said their debut was in 64 in my SF64 LP.
UrsaringOnFire 1 year ago
@UrsaringOnFire Well, their official debut was SF64, since SF2 was never actually released, and is thus not canon.
Revegelance 1 year ago
Yeah, that's true. But I was really referring to their first debut in general.
UrsaringOnFire 1 year ago
@UrsaringOnFire Well, when you put it that way, yes SF2 is Star Wolf's first game.

you chose slippy... you. sick. bastard.

@Afarrell18 Well, I'm going to be using everyone. I thought I'd get him over with now. He's not that bad in this game, anyway.

@Revegelance HOW did you get this when it was never released

pretty odd on why it was unreleased... Looks like it's complete
darig0n 1 year ago
@darig0n It was almost finished, and then fan-hackers polished it up into the version that I'm playing.

the meaning of the that word means you took one out.

"Scratch one! What... does that even mean?"

@S3JasonU I know what it means, it was just the way that I said it that made no sense.
