i wouldnt hav been able to stand there and watch them, i would have started breaking up the jetty into little spears and throwing them, i just would be able to stop myself :D
actually im a commercial fisherman and i run with a 14 foot net and catch 9 25lb jack at once yeah its heavy but its all about the size met and lb test , you guys are idiots
all you people talkin about throwing a cast net are retarted...those jacks are so strong and fast theyll either break your cast net or pull it out of your hands if you get to many
Even though i liove to fish with a rod i cant say anything else but to just throw a net in the center of that madness and have fish 4 breakfast lunch and dinner for the next two months lol
saw something like that in port a in my kayak offshore a month or two ago. landed a 36" kingfish the first day on trout gear with a cocahoe minnow, next day found a whale shark with some cobia on it...landed the smallest one at 27" and got broke off my some monsters that were easily 80+ pounds. trout gear didn't stand a chance.
So what were they, Bluefish? I used to go out in the Delaware bay and see schools like that. Bucktail and squid plus a school of blues = a great fishing experience
At the beginning you saw a boil.. it is when a school of predator fish force a school of anchovies or other bait fish to the surface and then feed on them. Notice the seagulls going nuts,, they are picking off bait fish as they jump out of the water to escape the predator fish. Nice fishing video...
I have seen mullet come in so thick you could walk on em , just like on your video and then saw the "Jacks" follow through also. It is an amazing sight to see it. It gave me goosebumps to watch it all over again . TY.
this is common where i used to live on north stradbroke island australia. they come close to the shore and you can row or use a small boat to get them, you dont need millions of bucks. try using a paravane to get down to the larger ball of fish underneath. you can be lucky and hook the palagic fish that are causing the ball. its all such an adrenalin rush and well worth it. you wont be able to wipe the smile off your face.
