Keep in mind this thing came out in Japan in 2000 when the PS2 was already out. The Dreamcast came out in Japan in late 1998 and Dreamcast games looked far better than anything on the 64DD.
The 64DD was already dated by the time it came out.

@leonci001 The disk drive was never cancelled, it just was a commercial failure. Probably Nintendo's second biggest failure, first being the Virtual Boy, and lord knows how shitty that was.
The difference being, the N64DD was actually kinda cool. I wish I had one, even though I can't read Japanese, I wanna use the Mario Artist games...
The graphics are breathtaking on the N64, why did nintendo eventually cancel 64DD? They would have made billions! Man, the graphics are unbelievable, N64 is the best.
It's the company owners that think North Americans are too stupid to basically handle powerful hardware. It's that type of attitude that has prevented them from making even more billions of dollars.
Seeing that it's called "Mario" i was expecting to see mario related stuff... O_o

all the n64 needed was 4mb extra ram from start, 480i res (interlaced rendering), a sound chip and a cd drive. it would own then
