Why would megalodon need to swim to the surface and for the food thing it is likely that its food source is also living in the deep and they come to the top with megalodon
It might have been a megalodon but its colors might have changed from what it eats, like some dolphins here in Florida are pink because they eat shrimp
you are highly retarded.. one megalodon isnt a great white it would be a deep sea creature... in the depths where its impossible for humans to go. second explain 5-10inch teeth they have found.. tooth fairy didnt bring that... also how can it leave a trail in the ocean??? its water.. it might be extinct now i dont know but it sure was alive once.
dude i just have to say can you swim to the bottom of the mariana trench there are alot of places man has yet to discover im no monster hunter or anything like that i just simply believe that there may be things we thought were extinct but still live the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence we may not be able to prove that it does exist yet we cannot prove that it doesnt exist its as simple as that
Great White Sharks swim in Deep Water not close to the surface. The only time they come to the surface is if there is food or a threat. almost 75 percent of the ocean is still not explored so it is quite possible for Megalodon to be swimming around somewhere in the deep
Alright 1.) there is evidence. 2) 89% of the ocean has been unexplored. 3) Great white are called the predators of the DEEP. You know the DEEP BLUE SEA. They only feed on shore when they follow in schools of fish or small ocean mammals. 4) Who the fuck said it was a great white.? you know there's more then 1 type of shark right.?! Steve Irwin we need you because kids these days are dumb.! And you was so friendly and informational.! RIP Crocodile Hunter.!<3 I remember you.!
@scaperune32 i figure most of what he said is true. and though 89% of the sea is unexplored, most of that is very deep sea. megalodons hunted alot like great whites and given its size, it would probably feed upon large and mid sized sharks, whales as well as squid, dolphin and othersuch sea life which will stay in the euphotic to mesopelagic zones of the ocean. too deep sea and the shark would only have the small sea life of the bathypelagic zone to feed on and that wouldn't keep it alive.
@arukotheblackwolf Megalodons feed on Giant Squid and they are very deep in the ocean. And actually about a year ago a giant squid washed up somewhere on the shore of Japan and it was one of the largest recorded but it was also missing almost every tentacle and huge chunks were missing but they found a 17" Shark Tooth close to the eye. so i mean thats some pretty good evidence.
@scaperune32 dude where are you getting your facts? wikipedia? megalodon teeth are ranged from 5-8 inches. common jaw fossils displayed in museum and private collection will show their teeth being abouth the size of a fully stretched hand not a human femar bone. studies show that megalodons are extremely close to great whites in terms of biologics as wells as natural instincts so no. they would not feed on giant squid alone. they would feed on all of the prey i metioned before.
@scaperune32 oh and btw. there have been extremely few sightings of the ilusive giant squid and if one was to be attacked by a megalodon. it would consumed whole. the size of the megalodons jaws suggest that if a show down was to occur between the two, the giant squids entire body would be torn asunder and if not that, then the rest of the biologic life around would ensure consumption of what little was left.
@arukotheblackwolf But considering what type the shark is. When most sharks attack they like to drag their pray either down or thrash it on the top of the water. the one that washed up was recorder to been attacked by a shark of unbelievable size. a 17" shark tooth is pretty dam huge. and actually Giant squid are recorded, caught and tagged everyday off the coast of some island in Japan. There's many research groups that have proved there is hundreds maby even thousands of giant squid.
some scientists actually believe that the possibility of megaladon still existing isnt so far fetched....if you want a total outline read the book "great white shark" by richard ellis.......amazing and eye opening book!! TO SAY THE LEAST
If you are that big, why would you bother attacking small shit.....I'd stay in the deep. I do believe it would be wise enough to stay in the deep for its size. Just like giant squid. It took years to prove the theories correct. Their is so much to explore in ocean life. It doesn't have a mass "exploration destination lets find this damn thing" party. I bet you it's real.
-.- how would you know 95% of all the seas in the world sill lies unseened and how would you know they swim near the top have you in the times when they where everyonwhere they can swim at the deepest part or even the middle don go around saying it not alive unless you relly seen 100% of everything
the coelacanth was thought to we extinct since the Late Cretaceous period. It was rediscovered in 1938. You cant say it exists until you find it, but you also cant say it doesnt exist. And also for the evidence of Bigfoot on land and none for Mega in the sea? Bigfoot leaves footprints. Last time i heard, you cant leave footprints in the ocean. and if youre thinking of Megalodon-evidence as a half eaten whale? No Megalodon was notorios for eating all the food on the plate. He wasnt picky.
idk about megalodon but there could be a giant sea monster or something in the ocean... allot of the ocean especially the depths are still undiscovered :)
This is no joke scientist have been cloning mice forever. with there DNA. Scentist are now trying to do that with a wooly mammoth hair. So yes, we can bring these creatures back, and why wouldnt we? we would know lots more about out world and the creatures. Lets face it guys, we can bring this megalodon back to the earth again! and this was on the news, it is not a god damn lie!
These may be genetic breeds of megalodon's for example a mega mouth. It looks like a basking shark and a megalodon at same time. And if the pup is more of the shark we know of, it probaly gets really enlarged but if we do find one witch i think we might dont kill the dang things. Anyway they are too big they would just kill you first
less than 5% of the oceans have been searched, that leaves 95% of the oceans on earth unsearched. plus sperm whales feed deep in the ocean near the floor and the sperm whale is close to the size of the megaladon so its possible that a megaladon still lives since there is enough food for a sperm whale there would definately would be enough for the megaladon
Hang on just a minute... Just cuz megalodons are sharks doesn't mean they swim around the surface. Also the cartilage in near all of their body would have dissolved deep in the sea where we can't go. Finally we don't know how large or how much food is down in the unknown depths so it could still be alive. Be an optimist, it could be alive and so far it hasn't hurt people yet.
people that just visit the beach would not even have to worry about megolodons.. most people swim close to the shore therefore you would be safe... a megalodon would be beached if it tried to attack someone in like 7 ft of water.
hey maybe god made to diff sides of earth one for the humans and one for creatures that use to b here bc we all know if they was with us we wouldnt exist for long...think about it :p we jut finding remains
The questions existing about the Megalodon are valid. True, 95% of the ocean is unexplored. For all we know there could very well be thousands of different types of kraken living. If you say there 95% of the ocean does contain space for a few Megalodons, there very well could be a Kraken in there, or some fish from the age of the dinosaurs, or any fish that is supposedly extinct. If you make this argument for the megalodon alone, you should make this argument valid for all mythical sea creatures
Ok the world has always been changing so have the creatures with it, the world doesn't change over night. creatures have time to evolve. To say it is impossible for htis to exsist is stupid and naive. To say it does exsist is the same. Until you send millions of cameras down all at once to observe every part of the ocean at once, you wouldn't know. Creatures evolve, megaldon may still exsist, may not be as large a population, or they may be extinct. Thats the problem people only see as theywant
1st off it is not still alive if what Scientists say is ture then the Meg was not only big but smart as well smarter than other sharks so i bet by they would have figuard out that there is a whole big buffet up closer to the surfces and as far as the sightings are off the eastern coasts of austrailia and japan the Meg is a very aggressive shark quess what the people unless they can fly would not have lived to tell about it and don't tell me they saw it from land that would be bull@%#!
I think it does still exist... There are species of marine life that were said to be extinct, and yet they show up every now and again alive and well. Usually around Japan, so cmccloskey09 might have a point.
well lets face it, no bodys have been washed up, but look at the size of these motherfuckers, this wont fit on a beach, and what if meglodons are eating of there own deceased?? ever think about that? these bones wont be found, due to deep water, and the meglodons breeding in the area ...hmm there still alive, because you cant prove there not LOL
er actully megalodon is still alive! how well megalodon is the worlds biggest shark the blue whale is the biggest whale in the world so 95% of our ocean is unxeplored he could be by australia or japan no one knows so i am 100% sure that it still exist a megalodon tooth was found by someone it was the oldest megalodon tooth in the world 18 million years old so it still alive be careful what u go on in the sea he could be in that sea
@bawan134 The Megalodon was a shark- therefore it would live in warm waters close to the shore and surface- it would eat a lot of food (which would not go unnoticed, and more than a few attention-seeking people would have seen them, not to mention the fact that NO dead Megalodon bodies have washed up on shore.
there have been 5 megalodon sightings in the past 100 years. one is known to have been living in the lurenchian abyss. and seeing as we cant go down there because its far too deep, it could still be there because megalodons are supposed to live for over 100 years because of the time it takes for them to grow
Do spirits and ghosts exist? Even though there is no concrete evidence of paranormal activity, we(humans) mostly accept that it is true. If 95% of the world's oceans are unexplored, how can you say that it can not exist? It is a low percentage, true, but scientists all believed that hte giant squid was a fairy tale up until a few years ago. WHy shouldnt megalodon be the same?
dude great whites do not swim at the surface. they swim at the floor and when they see or sense food at the surface they shoot up and grab it duh. gosh doesnt anyone watch shark week anymore? lol
this reminds me of that time when scientists found this animal that was said to have been extinct for like 40 million years or so. but they found that animal a couple years ago...
the point is, we are only humans. we DON'T know everything. in fact, 95% of the oceans is still unexplored. you think you can simply say that megalodons don't exist using only 5% of the ocean?
The paragraph explains nothing and your point is invalid. Take the size of a great white, you say it swims close to the surface, well you have to put that to scale... Where the great white may swim 20 feet below the surface, the megalodon being bigger would swim 200 feet below the surface.
The reason there aren't any major disapearing in mamals, is because the ones disappearing we haven't seen, because they are mostly whales.
you are right... because Why would the megalodon shark only feed on the SURFACE ocean water taht we know of? thats' only 5-8% of what we've explored.... the megalodon can live in the larger part of the ocean which is the 92-95% that we haven't explored... If you asked me... i think more food for the megalodon sharks can be in the 92%-95% in the ocean that we haven't explored... i'd rather go eat everywhere in the UNITED STATES rather than just in one city... =\
ok i just found out something really interesting, as everyone who has ever visited this sight knows there is a huge debate over where C. Megalodon could have survived all these years. Well since i am a huge shark nut, and C. Megaladon is my facvorite subject i did a little research, and found out that the temperature in the Mariana Trench, deepest part of the Earth and where most C. Megalodon sightings have been reported is high 80's degrees Farenheit.
@cmccloskey09 now here is where it gets interesting, as most people know C. Megalodon is the ancient ancestor of the Great White Shark, the thing is Great Whites only need a temperature of 70 degrees farenheit to survive. And god knows how long the mariana trench has existed, it's conceivable that during the time C. Megalodon was dying out due to change in temperature, they relocated, like all sharks do to warmer temperature waters in the mariana trench.
@ashrocks87 oh my god you must be retarded for thinking that the reason for bermuda is that its between cold temperature and hot temperature and the sea there is diffrent than any normal sea and it has extreme large deposits of methane gas so they couldnt survive there
megladon is very big we know...like great whites you know the fin...well yuo cant see under water but if your far away you cant see the whole fin only the small bit
1:12 is real...its all old and grey for that instance just that little video can prove it...the head of a shark and body of a Megladon. If you agree with me rate this comment up and reply!
it doesnt exist anymore because if the meteorite really hits earth with power of 10,000-100,000 tons of dynamite and as big as half of mexico (not really sure of it) even bacteria won't survive so there is only 1% that this megabullshit exist and yes it is true that a large warmblooded animal like this needs large amount of carbohydrates to survive since it lives in ocean...I think the one construct earth was a very careful one for taking out those species for us.....face the truth people
Most likely not Meg anymore, but there is definitely some big shit down there. Megamouths, oarfish, giant squid, diving sperm whales, possibly even Blue Whales (we know so little about the largest living creature ever...why is that?) that may dive deep as hell to breed, seeing as how we still don't know where they go to breed, other than theories. There is food a plenty in the sea for these sharks to live if they were still alive, so peeps that say there's not enough are full of shit.
It doesn't exist anymore. There's a possibility that MAYBE a strain of it had evolved into a breed that stays on the bottom, possibly eating Sperm Whales that dive for Giant Squid, or possibly eating Giant Squid (Why else would it be soooooo damn hard to film a Giant Squid? Only one case of a live one has EVER been recorded in it's bottom-of-the-sea habitat.) which explains why, contrary to your point PM, they disappear a lot and we can never find any.
Some millionaire should have two very large ships hoist down a blubber carcas of a whale by cable between the two of them above Marianas Trench. Force this feast down into the deepest part of the ocean while filming it from multiple angles. Let's see what happens...
he says that the megaladon would need alot of food but a great white shark can live for a couple of weeks on one seal.(due to high fat content) the shark may just hunt smart. this would give it an abundant food source too.
so, one meg would live on one whale for 2 weeks, yes? that means that if there were even just a few megs, whales would be extinct within a few years. which would mean whales would have gone extinct before we even knew they were there, all we would have would be fossil records.
unless you think there is a whole "lost world" type deal in the deep oceanic trenches, where dinosaurs still exist and fight each other for food and territory?
I dont think it exists i mean humans would have found some trails of it. and if they exist how many is left and will they survive for much longer :O THE GLOBAL WARMING IS COMING TO WIPE THE SHARKS OUT
@csfreak50 good point. actualy there is good evidence that it exsists but how do hide something that big.mariana trench maybe. some scientists say about 12 may exsist
@castrogirl123 until theres proof he's as real as santa claus or the boogeyman, and due to all the evil in the world, im more inclined to believe in santa, if he were real then why do the good people suffer
@csfreak50 bc of facts and the teeth we learned it lived in shallower waters.... which has been explorered. and the feeding habbit. wat they fed on died off so then they did....
and 3rd. at this stage of technology, it isnt possible to have eyes on every bit of the oceans surface across the globe to see if you can find a megalodon fin. also, you do not need photographic, audio or video evidence to prove the existane of something, ask the millions o christians in the world. owned,
ok here is my eviden against yours, 1. over 90% of our ocean is still unexplored, it is very likely that there would be enough animals for it to survive without us noticing. 2. the reason there is no evidence of him in the see is because it would leave the same tracks as a great white as they part of the same shark family andd also as stated before, more than 90% of the ocean is unexplored, so it woud be hard to find evidence when such a ig portion of the ocean hasnt been seen.
i believe it could exist. But i heard that it lived in places that were kind of hot. Well, what if it lives deeep under water? So deep that the water is heated by an underground volcano or something? I don´t know much about this stuff, but i think it sounds kinda logical.
That's actually very possible , because all of the noted megalodon sightings are off the eastern coasts of austrailia and japan, where in incredibly deep waters, which are unobservable by man, is a large chain of underground volcanoes. This would account for how it isable to feed as well because in that area, sperm whales and large squid are known to dive to incredibly deep depths. Both are very huge and would supply a megalodon population with enough food to survive.
You are forgetting though, sharks don't hunt with their eyes, they use the sensory nodes in their snout to sense location of prey. A perfect example of this would be the greenland shark who is almost sompletely blind, but because they have increased senses in their snout they a able to sense there whereabouts of prey.
'Third, like most great whites swim close to the surface, Megalodon would do the same. Without video, audio or photographic evidence we cannot say it is still alive...'
I don't think this statement is true because there is so little food at the surface for such a big shark. I mean, when you think about it, if you were starving would you rather go to a cafe with large portions of food or a cafe with little portions of food? It's just my theory :D
Ummm...but we have already discovered them. We have never found a living Megalodon. Such a gigantic creature would have been found by now--especially one that had a similar behavior to the Great White, which comes to shallow waters much of the time.
@N00bcrunch3r well no because if you think about it megaladonis 3 times the size of aregularshrk meaning tht for it shallow water is still extreamly deep u can only put the god method on it it might exist but it might not theres no proof eitherway its all about ifu beilive it does
Well first off, what is the "god method". Second, can you please spell so as to prove you are not 4--and so I can also understand what you are saying?
@N00bcrunch3r well if you really are going to be childish about my spelling then go for it i mean heck for all i know your some fat loser living in your mums garage and surfing all over the internet just to comment random stuff and as for the god method there are three plausible awnsers does god exist yes no and maybe same as megaladon however we do know tht at 1 point it did exist
@Aracia indeed as a four year old imanaged to turn on a laptop create a youtube account comment on this video make a rude comment to some guy i dont know make a video with an m14 and be an avid airsoft player wow your logic is impecable
@whitedragonsreviews I know; my logic is awesome and your grammar is atrocious. By the way, 4 years are quite capable now a days so I wouldn't be surprised if they managed such a feat.
@Aracia my grammer has always been crap so sue me for it and if you knew wat u were talking about u would realise only persons aged 18+ can do airsoft

Usually around Japan, so cmccloskey09 might have a point.

bawan134 1 year ago

WHy shouldnt megalodon be the same?

how can you say megalodons don't exist?
this reminds me of that time when scientists found this animal that was said to have been extinct for like 40 million years or so. but they found that animal a couple years ago...
the point is, we are only humans. we DON'T know everything. in fact, 95% of the oceans is still unexplored. you think you can simply say that megalodons don't exist using only 5% of the ocean?
think again...
Freshyest 1 year ago
i really believe that they are still alive. maybe thats why some of the great white population is going down.
wolfbabe319 1 year ago
just because we dont see it doesnt mean it doesnt exist. there is a possibility it can still be alive even if there is no proof to back it up.!
CherryDarling0890 1 year ago
The paragraph explains nothing and your point is invalid. Take the size of a great white, you say it swims close to the surface, well you have to put that to scale... Where the great white may swim 20 feet below the surface, the megalodon being bigger would swim 200 feet below the surface.
The reason there aren't any major disapearing in mamals, is because the ones disappearing we haven't seen, because they are mostly whales.
zacblade 1 year ago
you are right... because Why would the megalodon shark only feed on the SURFACE ocean water taht we know of? thats' only 5-8% of what we've explored.... the megalodon can live in the larger part of the ocean which is the 92-95% that we haven't explored... If you asked me... i think more food for the megalodon sharks can be in the 92%-95% in the ocean that we haven't explored... i'd rather go eat everywhere in the UNITED STATES rather than just in one city... =\
jerry0o8 1 year ago
ok if there was a so called meteor that killed off the megalodon then why didnt it kill every other species of shark why just the megalodon?????
Brandonpavlo 1 year ago
ok i just found out something really interesting, as everyone who has ever visited this sight knows there is a huge debate over where C. Megalodon could have survived all these years. Well since i am a huge shark nut, and C. Megaladon is my facvorite subject i did a little research, and found out that the temperature in the Mariana Trench, deepest part of the Earth and where most C. Megalodon sightings have been reported is high 80's degrees Farenheit.
cmccloskey09 1 year ago
@cmccloskey09 now here is where it gets interesting, as most people know C. Megalodon is the ancient ancestor of the Great White Shark, the thing is Great Whites only need a temperature of 70 degrees farenheit to survive. And god knows how long the mariana trench has existed, it's conceivable that during the time C. Megalodon was dying out due to change in temperature, they relocated, like all sharks do to warmer temperature waters in the mariana trench.

it doesnt exist anymore because if the meteorite really hits earth with power of 10,000-100,000 tons of dynamite and as big as half of mexico (not really sure of it) even bacteria won't survive so there is only 1% that this megabullshit exist and yes it is true that a large warmblooded animal like this needs large amount of carbohydrates to survive since it lives in ocean...I think the one construct earth was a very careful one for taking out those species for us.....face the truth people

over 90% of our oceans are UNEXPLORED so just because there's no evidence of it that doesnt mean it dont exist
erinma97 1 year ago 10
Most likely not Meg anymore, but there is definitely some big shit down there. Megamouths, oarfish, giant squid, diving sperm whales, possibly even Blue Whales (we know so little about the largest living creature ever...why is that?) that may dive deep as hell to breed, seeing as how we still don't know where they go to breed, other than theories. There is food a plenty in the sea for these sharks to live if they were still alive, so peeps that say there's not enough are full of shit.
Ch4oTiK 2 years ago
It doesn't exist anymore. There's a possibility that MAYBE a strain of it had evolved into a breed that stays on the bottom, possibly eating Sperm Whales that dive for Giant Squid, or possibly eating Giant Squid (Why else would it be soooooo damn hard to film a Giant Squid? Only one case of a live one has EVER been recorded in it's bottom-of-the-sea habitat.) which explains why, contrary to your point PM, they disappear a lot and we can never find any.
Ch4oTiK 2 years ago
exactly how big is it? FUCKING HUGE!!!
jjk1997 2 years ago

he says that the megaladon would need alot of food but a great white shark can live for a couple of weeks on one seal.(due to high fat content) the shark may just hunt smart. this would give it an abundant food source too.
0oRouseticalo0 2 years ago
so, one meg would live on one whale for 2 weeks, yes? that means that if there were even just a few megs, whales would be extinct within a few years. which would mean whales would have gone extinct before we even knew they were there, all we would have would be fossil records.
unless you think there is a whole "lost world" type deal in the deep oceanic trenches, where dinosaurs still exist and fight each other for food and territory?

and 3rd. at this stage of technology, it isnt possible to have eyes on every bit of the oceans surface across the globe to see if you can find a megalodon fin. also, you do not need photographic, audio or video evidence to prove the existane of something, ask the millions o christians in the world. owned,
BoJanglezEveryday 2 years ago
ok here is my eviden against yours, 1. over 90% of our ocean is still unexplored, it is very likely that there would be enough animals for it to survive without us noticing. 2. the reason there is no evidence of him in the see is because it would leave the same tracks as a great white as they part of the same shark family andd also as stated before, more than 90% of the ocean is unexplored, so it woud be hard to find evidence when such a ig portion of the ocean hasnt been seen.
BoJanglezEveryday 2 years ago 2
oh yeah, and one day, all the water will be heated by global warming, and it will come up to the surface again!! AND FEED ON HUMANS FOR SNACKS!!!!

demyx0067 2 years ago
yeah it will just grow legs and walk on land where humans live
Joba1818 2 years ago 2
i believe it could exist. But i heard that it lived in places that were kind of hot. Well, what if it lives deeep under water? So deep that the water is heated by an underground volcano or something? I don´t know much about this stuff, but i think it sounds kinda logical.
demyx0067 2 years ago
That's actually very possible , because all of the noted megalodon sightings are off the eastern coasts of austrailia and japan, where in incredibly deep waters, which are unobservable by man, is a large chain of underground volcanoes. This would account for how it isable to feed as well because in that area, sperm whales and large squid are known to dive to incredibly deep depths. Both are very huge and would supply a megalodon population with enough food to survive.
cmccloskey09 2 years ago 35
@cmccloskey09 but megaldon cant see so long down because its dirty
spartan0337 2 years ago
You are forgetting though, sharks don't hunt with their eyes, they use the sensory nodes in their snout to sense location of prey. A perfect example of this would be the greenland shark who is almost sompletely blind, but because they have increased senses in their snout they a able to sense there whereabouts of prey.
cmccloskey09 2 years ago
@cmccloskey09 there is a 1.9 percent chance that the megaladon is
dwlol1 1 year ago
@cmccloskey09 I agree too.
