I recorded this on vhs off of Showtime many years ago. Only worth seeing for the cast. I love a lot of the 60s counterculture and B movies, but this despite its great cast, is not a great film. You almost have to watch it in parts, it's so mind-numbingly boring. It's shot beautifully, though.

They have not released it yet!!! Like Skidoo(1968) I was a bomb at the box office and was locked up in the vaults since. You could see a beat up copy on the late,late show every so offen. I have been in contact with TCM to show it. They told me that they have to get the rights from the owner and they do not want to release it....It is now over 40 years old and maybe they will do it soon....

It came 4 years ago in a special edition with a tin container and alot of other extras and went for something like $30 and $20 for the regular release. I saw it in a local video store back then but didn't buy it.Now I'm banging my head on the walls for being so stupid. As for regular stores, I would think video specialty stores (like Best Buy) rather than walmart.

Are you folks ready for a journey? The road to Hell is two hours and one minute long; I could sure use the company. I have to admit that this movie inspires an enormous feeling of loathing in me. While it is an amazing display of talented actors, the entertainment derived is from watching them totally debase themselves on screen. This movie is much like watching actors divulge themselves of their bowel contents into a transparent toilet.

It's the worst piece of s*** ever made, bar none. It's not an enjoyable bad movie, either. It's just plain unwatchable.

Also, besides the camp, the premise of the movie, right or wrong, was to expose the intentions of the cultural icons of the 60's; the manipulative deceitful power grabs really done for sex (taking advantage of the symbolic Candy's virgin naivte in searching for truth),(very softcore). And there's some subtleties easily missed. Harrison's guru played by Brando. Burton's Mestopheles with constant windblown hair and a short Hitler voice dubbing. Etc. :-)
