dude when i first got to this point in the game i was like F@#K but was gonna try anyway. then i saw the dragons hp "??" F@#K MY LIFE! idk how many times it took me but it wasn't an easy fight first play though.
What I like about this final boss is that he's not the be all and end all dragon, He's just ONE DRAGON. Could imagine actually being a part of the scouring with thousands of other dragons? *shivers*

Why does everyone get good Hector's OTHER then me? My Hector sucked. He couldn't hit the ground in front of him, his defence was zip, and every time, EVERY FREAKIN TIME, I used him and the enemy had a 1% crit chance, they'd get the crit.

@thereturnofflorence eliwood can do epic damage if you have him levelled, granted- he needs a body ring, but 25 damage on the fire dragon per hit (and he will double if he has high speed) is tremendous. plus, hector has got to have his speed maxed to double and hasnt got 100 percent hit. Lyn is nice, but without her criticals shes certainly not as effective as eliwood. at least in my playthrough
@clankb2o5 Normally I use Eliwood. It's just in this playthrough, (HHM) He had 7 STR when promoted. That's right, 7. The RNG really screwed me on him but I got max speed and STR on Hector,Lyn, and Nino.

When I got to Nergal, I was almost dissapointed that Athos could easily take him on, yet I was kinda relieved. *cue epic cutscene* And there stands a full-sized dragon before Dragon's Gate. God, even his sprite was intimidating. Needless to say, I was all FFFUUUU--
Oye...this Dragon was freakin' tough...I remember all too well going through the hell of beating all of Nurgles morphs, then fighting Nurgal himself, and here I am thinking 'Hah, this fight is over!' Then when I saw that dragon appear for the first time, my eyes went wide...'Oh you have GOT to be kidding me!'
It was at that point I wished I had Myyr again. 1KO Wonder Dragon!
On my first play through the game, and my first play through any FE game, I got to this boss and was too weak to win so I had to restart the whole game. After I had a better grasp of the mechanics of FE, and learned that an unpromoted lvl 4 Hector should not enter the final battle, I went and owned him.
Oy, it took me YEARS to finally kill this guy. I was literally speechless when I first fought him. I was NOT expecting a boss to have so much health. Actually, I thought he was unkillable. I was so happy to have finally defeated this guy.
With a dragon of such power giving problems to a band of great heroes, I wonder how Humanity managed to face the Dragons at their full might during the Culling. The Dragons might have been outnumbered, but their power was amazing! It's not like the Legendary Heroes could take them all on!
Well, they had 8 powerful Divine Weapons. And the weapons were powerful enough to completely disrupt nature. They also had Hartmut's Sword of Seals. And then they had an army of a ton of humans armed with dragon-killing weapons. Even if the Demon Dragon Idenn could spawn many artificial War Dragons, the humans still outnumber them.
Lyn with Sol Katti. *Swings Sword left and right, Mirror Images appear, Vanishes, Appears in front of the Dragon and starts attacking with lightning swift speed*
Eh-- I'm not big on Roms, but I'd still play 'em when it comes down to "Hey, they AREN'T releasing this game in our language/region" Internet crimes are so... petty. Anyways, Veld goes down in 1 round with Sety. (And despite being Godly hard otherwise, Yurius will go down in 2 to 3 fights with Yuria. (Of course that's because Yuria = Win))
(And I use my Wii for it anyways. Yay for Homebrew Channel. (Got it for the Gecko-- which is a must for ToS2.))
But yeah, Veld is failure.
Yurius on the otherhand-- Yuria is DESIGNED to kill him. Without her and her special weapon, he rapes (All your stats are /2 if it's not her he's fighting.) Your only hope without her is Celice, and he's in Danger of being 2-rounded.
Well the dragon is cool and all, but I must say i like the demon dragon and the demon king better. The demon king music is really cool, if ya want to see my playlist about the greatest music, see my channel, comment if you want me to add something. But if i dont like it, THEN SUCK IT!
I'm not saying anything about the Music of te Demon King (Which sounds like the Orichalcos song at parts), but the Demon King, Formortiis, sucked. He died very easily. That killed his epic music for me.
I was Pathetically Underleveled for this Fight... Eliwood, Hector & Lyn died in One hit to the Dragon, and the Dragon always had 100% Acc. While I had 0% Crit on all of them, and None of my Healers had anymore Staves, So not even Athos could've saved me there... And not to Mention I lost Nils the Chapter Before. Actually while I'm on it, I sucked throughout the Entire Game First time around.
My favorite part about this song/battle is how the two sync up perfectly. During the opening fanfare, the Dragon is appearing and the fight starts as the music gets heavier.
To me, that makes the battle so much more appealing and awesome.
O.O Do you think the Fire Dragon was actually Yahn? I mean, the theme(albeit remixed), and class are the same. It makes sense:
Yahn was the one to go through the gate, making a deal with Nergal. Then, after being sealed away, he became hungry for revenge, coming out again in FE6. He was then defeated by Roy... it would explain why "his energy was finally restored"...

Surprisingly easier is an understatement. When Hector does an Armads crit against the fire dragon it survives. Yahn would be WTFPWNed with a huge amount of overkill. That and he clearly states that he remained the entire time in the dragon temple.
and plus, it says that yahn had had 1000 years to rest, although roy is eliwoods child. so either eliwood and roy live for a looooooong time, or its not yahn
what yahn meant by that is that after 1000 years his wounds from the scourging were healed if doesn't mean that he was attacked by eliwood or roy 1000 years ago
Er. No. Yahn would be dead. Because hector rocked his fucking world. And at the end where Zephiel turns evil, the guy that talks to him it totally yahn.
O_O" There could be a possibility that someone revived him after FE 7 (if we're on that argument).
According to Laws of Whatever-its-called, someone who has been outside of their or another body and then goes into another body will feel tired, as custom of getting used to a different body. Or so it goes.
Therefore, it could be said that Yahn was revived and being a dragon, took longer to recuperate from being outside a body. Then again, I'm just saying "What if" here... He's dead now. :D
Sorry I haven't beaten FE6 (I'm in the middle of it) but I thought the dragon if FE7 got killed and really I think Matorolnika's explanation is what I think.

When I finally reached this leve (before the dragon part) l, I thought. "allright this is it, nergal is going to be very tough, but i can beat him!"
I was ready to face him!
I was expecting a battle so HUGE, my GBA would explode, because I had to fight my way through almost 30 goddamn levels to beat him.
So I used the Archsage, attacked him, got a critical and Nergal died.
"Wow.. after all i've been through just to kill him with ONE shot!?"

I've used Luna with Athos to defeat the dragon, and I've increase his critical with the help of Nils. :)
