  • I am learning myself how to play the pipes! I am still on the practice chanter but since dating back to last september I had no idea what I was doing I think I have made great progress! However the Taorluath the first embellishment in this song is still screwing me up! I am not even sure if I spelled it right but that is how my instructor says it is spelled so Im going with it! However I do have Amzing Grace down from memory embellishments and all!

  • @jogomez1974 buy a chanter and the college of piping. either learn the music or memorize the fingering from a video for a certain song. practice PRACTICE! do not let anyone on here tell you that you cannot teach yourself! I have taught myself for the past 6 months and have Scotland the Brave, Amazing Grace and a couple others down perfectly.

  • But, how do you get the cat in it and how long do they last?

  • Are you wearing a kilt under that table :P

  • Luv this and thanks for postin'! Everytime I hear "Scotland the Brave", I get goosebumps. This American lady loves the Pipers!!! (my ancestory is Scottish-am proud to say)

  • Very nice sir! I like this song very much!!!

  • omg wonderful

  • nice

  • That tool is simply awesome.

  • Wow.. Really had anything to do with preparing and how to...

  • Magic music ! This sound lift spirit and for dead!!!

  • I CANT play, inflate, and press at the same time... does my arm always need to be pressing the bag even when inhaling? i cant do that multitasking right now.. any suggestions?

  • @d1v4dPwnz Just think of it as 'blowing-your arm-off'. When you are inflating the bag, just ease the presure on your arm (feel it leaving the bag). When you're taking a breath, begin to squeeze the bag to keep air-flow constant. It soon becomes an extention of breathing.

  • @bjswcs oh.. thanks!

  • A huge effort is needed there !!!

  • "We have a piper down...I repeat, a piper is down."

  • @gsizzles LOL!

  • @gsizzles only one???

  • @gsizzles and when a piper goes down we drop our guns and pick up his pipes!

  • some day im going to learn that tun when i get beter

  • now i know how to play it ...

  • I was lucky enough to get my lessons for free but normally piping as a whole is very expensive from the practose chanter to the lessons all the way to the pipes themselves.

  • oh god his drones are out of tune a little that sounded pretty nasty at the beginning.

  • nice drones lmao (N)

  • He's not harming anybody, especially beginners. It must have been so special for you to pick up a practice chanter and instantly be so good that you didn't need to take advice from anybody. Perhaps you could post a video of yourself, with your immaculately tuned pipes, Flawless execution, brilliant expression, and grace (no pun intended) us with how it really should be done... I'm sure you'll have the time, as I'm willing to bet you aren't busy teaching lessons or lined up for any judging gigs.

  • @onewiththeguns then why are you watching it?

  • @MyVlogger well said my freind

  • how was that

    a "how to play" video

  • I would like to know where I could buy a set of bag pipes and learn to play them. I am serious here, I am not kidding. In my area (foothills of NC) it's all banjos and fiddles but the Bagpipes are the most beatiful instrument I have ever heard. Please message me if you have any thoughts to share (only serious ones please)

  • @hrica Playing the bagpipe is great fun and very rewarding, especially when people are so amazed that you can do it! But before you run out and buy the first set of Pakistani junk pipes you can find on the internet, pick yourself up a practice chanter and good learner's book from a recognized institution like the College of Piping. It will run you about $80.00, and you can then decide if you have the ability and desire to drop upwards of $1500 on a set of pipes.

  • What did that have to do with preparing a bagpipe before playing it?

  • Little people know that the first reed instruments including the bagpipes came from Africa centuries ago....Let's not forget the guitar and piano ( Kalimba ). People generally think only Drums when thinking of Africa . Do your research .

  • Funny how he dosen't show you how to play anything

  • everyone quit arguing and enjoy the bagpipes

  • ARGHHHHHHHHHH! fuckin GERMAN advertisements!""!"!!" ye really ruin the feelin!" bloody arses! somebody PLEASE! Bomb this place finally! grrrrr go on do me a fit dump ! But I mean all I say! shite I hate adverts

  • i love the sound of the bagpipes, i don't know why though. it's either the constant background sound or the sound that it makes when your switching from one note to another

  • Love the sound in that bagpipe!

  • Grandprix55--The United States was victorious over the UK on our own accord and persevered over some of the worst conditions any military had ever overcome(Valley Forge)...The American spirit is what won the war and the leadership of George Washington, who fought for you ungreatful cuds against the French in the French and Indian War.

  • @PhiPsiVol354 also thousands of French soldiers, but hey thats one loss in around 600 years of British history, America has only been around a couple of hundred of years and lost against Vietnamese people in bushes and not won a war on their own. Why you have to come on here mentioning the one war you won against the British Army on a video of how to play SCOTLAND the brave?

  • @skip2mylou05 are you forgetting the War of 1812---and y'all lost WWII---until we came in and saved you. Without our industry, food, and supplies---England surely would have starved to death. We kept you in the war. So you're welcome. Oh and great soccer team you have---I think Slovenia will work you. Your old rebellious colony and Slovenia advance---must suck to be you.

  • @PhiPsiVol354 Uh, excuse me, but please do the United States a favor and read real history instead of that propaganda they cram down our throats in grade school and high school. The British repeatedly kicked our asses on the battlefield before we had the assistance of the French army, a whole bunch of Germans, and at least one Polish guy (Kazimierz Pulaski), among who knows how many others whose names are lost to us. No, we would have lost (and badly) without a whole lot of foreign help.

  • SPARTA!!!!

  • what?

  • Nicely done!

  • GREAT!!!

  • good thing they had captions! English with English captions.....whew that guy is a life saver!

  • @MikeEST1977 I dinnae ken wha' he's on about...

  • while you're playing, do you press the bag?

  • yes.

  • i cant see a single bagpipe video i just get errors

  • Maybe your PC doesn't like bagpipes

  • I've heard that tune in "The Dead Poets Society"!

  • this guy sucks this is one of the most simple tunes there is and he plays it wrong if you think this is good then you are obliviusly

  • yeah i no man how shit is it timing is off and it sounds like he ain't covering the wholes properly and how about the run down lmao

  • Yeah but your a cocksucker

  • Well he plays better than 99% of the people on this forum. If you play better please post a video and show us how you would do this song. And for PORTERHOUSE , I think he was slowing it down for us who are trying to learn. Also, are you trying to spell "holes"? I could be wrong...maybe there is a piece on the bagpipes called "wholes"?

  • scotland is big ! poland.

  • @szampon67

co poland? Poland is big too...

  • if u think thts good u shud hear the royal scots dragoon guards play compared 2 them hes quite bad believe me

    lol

  • Lads, if almighty Britain is bragging about how they did so well in the American Revolution, why were a bunch of colonists with little internal unity, few arms, and no money able to do so well against the "mightiest empire." If Britain was so great, you should have been able to crush us, not run off home because some French ships were sitting in Yorktown harbor.

  • You don't give the Colonial Army enough credit. It was actually fairly well trained, apart from the militia, and outnumbered the British forces by 2 to 1 in most cases. In other words: stfu.

  • Well, I was going to nod my head to your valid point until your last little bit- no need to be rude. First of all, the Continental Army was only a small part of the colonial effort (the well-trained ones you speak of), and a great part of the war was fought by militia with very low funds and not enough weapons. Also, I didn't say anything about training at all- I said they had little internal unity- i.e., PA was in it for PA, VA was in it for VA, etc.

  • Ba, who cares. We're on the internet. Arguing on this is like being in the Special Olympics. Doesn't matter who wins, in the end we're all retarded.

  • hahaha touche. everyone should read this comment.

  • I agree its wrong that these people should be made to compete against each other for the entertainment of able body people

  • @ShootaFodder LOL. best answear ever, kudos to you sir.

  • @ShootaFodder I ride the short bus to the olypics.

I don't know why, but I had to get that out.

  • @ShootaFodder so true.

  • @ShootaFodder who said that...i forgot

  • @ShootaFodder Arguing in real life is no different.

  • @ShootaFodder Are the bagpipes hard? Only just before I cum in your face.

  • @ShootaFodder priceless

  • @ShootaFodder thats the funniest thing ive heard all week!!! hahaha

  • too slow!!!

  • hmm...

    is still don't know HOW

    to play it

  • just keep on trying

  • That's cool ;) hehe

  • im scottish from davidson

  • im just scottish from the McDougal/Mcdowell clan

  • im a pround american scot (macgregor) and im proud to say that england might have won the war over there but as an american we fuck yall up not once but twice...

  • Think so?

USA was totally hammered in the American Revolution in terms of battles. The English won over 2/3rds of them and France saved you (York Town.) Which is why the statue of Liberty is French.

As for the 1812 War: the British won - USA got hammered and did all the running except for New Orleans where you beat a SCOTTISH regiment of course. The war was already over. Fool.

You're no Scot you're a yank mutt.. so mind your business. England scattered Scots all over OUR empire after Culloden.

  • you lost the war buddy get over it......dont act like you didnt have help from american loyalist either....fuck the english....look what happened to the United States of America after cornwallis signed the treaty...the new leader in the world was born..and look what happened to bisbing in the last ufc loud mouthed english fuck got knocked to fuck out by dan henderson youtube that fuck boy

  • Premature independence meant USA missed out on the world's first industrial revolution - which had just taken off in England. Held you back.

We were never kicked out of America.. see Canada and it's bigger than the USA.

Conrwallis was made Governor of India after Yorktown - where all the resources and trade mattered.

You Scots descended cunts had nothing to do with any of it.. you only arrived in the English colony of USA long after the Revolution.

So fuck off and learn history you yank shit.

  • im pretty sure 100% of americans wouldnt consider our independence premature....america had its own industrial revolution...i dont know why you are talking about canada...india is a shit hole.....if my family arrived after the revolution then it wouldnt be a colony it would the the United States of America...you are a jerk off go fuck yourself..you lost both wars get over it...and if it came down to it you would lose again

  • Just like you "won" Vietnam, LOL?

  • In fact, you obviously ignorant philistine, America had to send over spies to even start your version of our Industrial Revolution - the World's first. Google it.

Yours was not spontaneous and you Scottish exiles (fleeing after Culloden) weren't even a factor in USA yet.

  • you lost

  • You weren't even there. Mind your business.

You Scottish exiles weren't even in America in 1775-81 and anyway you're not Scottish you yank.

  • neither were you...but u still lost

  • Weak tit.

I meant you collectively. Learn to read.

    Cunt.

    CULLODEN 1746!!!!

  • England= 2x losers

    USA= 2x winners

Learn to write what you mean

    douche

  • Wow...how much must a person's life just totally suck to come to a youtube video of someone playing bagpipes and shit all over Scotland?

    Seriously dude...you need to:

    A) Loosen the hell up.

    -and-

    B) Calm the hell down.

  • @GrandPrix55 LOL!

  • Mr Grandprix appears to have a wee bee in his bonnet

  • Just like the Anglophobic (i.e. frightened) Scots.

    Obviously.

  • 1) the recording is so distorted--too close to the mic--how can you distinguish the tuning?

    2) there are a couple dozen segments in this series, most show "how to" do all sorts of things.

    3) I didn't write any of the text that says stuff like "How To" or "show you everything..." Clearly a couple dozen video clips can't show "everything"

    4) Thanks Jon.

    5) Wankers.

  • @Neilbagpiper ya everyone thinks their cool by saying american people cant play bagpipes.. obviously you are very very very very gooooood..... people are just stupid

  • scotland was supressed by the englsih for hundreds of years

our women were raped people were killed

William Wallace defeated the english in the battle of striling bridge and Robert the Bruce would defeat the english on 1314 in the battle of bankburn and win scottish freedom im a scottish canadian and im proud to be a scot so fuck the english SCOTLAND RULES

  • William Wallace the non-Scottish (Norman, French-speaking, English-born pretend Scotsman you mean? Germanic like us English not Celt.

As for The Bruce - he was the one one betrayed Wallace to the English LOL.

Scotland was always its own worst enemy (see the Highland Clearances which is how confused scum like you ended up in the ENGLISH colony of Canada.)

FALKIRK cancelled Stirling Bridge... England won the war.

You have to go back to 1314 to claim a victory How pathetic is that?

  • Scots.. they're fake celts. Most of them have English surnames and look nothing like the true celts - the Welsh.

And you're "so proud to be Canadian" that you think you are from somewhere else.

    Idiot.

  • im actually a scottish canadian

  • your really pissing me off scotland is amzaing the scots have invented os many important inventions Alex Flemming penicllin Alex Bell the phone Adam Smith wealth of nations Andrew Carangie was a poor scot who immigrated to the states and became one of the richest men in the world the steam engine adn the radar microwaves refiferators hmm very important inventions so go stuff a crumpet up your ass ya prick
  • Your forgot Robert Louis Stevenson.

Scotland greatest writer as well as Sir. Walter Scott.

    Scotland the Brave.

  • true my bad

  • And if loser Scotlabd was supressed maybe that should have taught them not to keep raiding northern English towns like Appleby which they butchered.

You conveniently ignore everything that went on before the English cat bit the wee Scottish mouse.

    Probably because you don't know.

Ignorant foreigner who needs to mind its own business.

GO and deal with your own uppity French province, Quebec instead.

(France of course always allied with the Scottish subvsersives. So England hammered them BOTH

  • Where would you be if England hadn't taken Canada (New France) off France in the 1750s?

    Learn history you ignorant bastard.

  • if you hate scotland so much why are you looking p bagpipes and listing to scotish music o i know why cuase you secritly love it

  • @GrandPrix55 And you... Your extreme arrogance makes you far less than an asset to your country. Please, for the sake of your countrymen, shut up before people start thinking everyone over there is like you.
