@wedisegen Not fair? What's not fair? There is a cabin in every single train, which caters only for women and children, who choose not to be squashed amongst other stange men! But if you want, you can seat in ANY cabin, including the first class if you pay a pound extra.

They go there because it's a hotspot with plenty to offer to tourists. Tourists don't travel to Dubai for the oil, so why would it running out kiss tourism bye?

Dubai has invested n the service sector. Not sure about the rest.

Iceland is in debt but people still travel there, so why would dubai be diffrent?

but it makes little difference - the royalty of Dubai is still so stinking rich that they have enough money to last a lifetime.

Tourists will go there to gamble. It's called air conditioning.

It's not too expensive, and most gamblers have enough money to get there anyway.

the ultra rich will not ditch dubai. They are not staying there just for the oil. Dubai has become the Hollywood of the east.

Reminds me of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit System. It is quite efficient but not perfect. It is very clean though and hope Dubai's one will stay clean too.

Hope it doesn't become a transport monopoly like in Singapore and charge ridiculous prices as commuters have no other choices. :)

Please don't compare Dubai Metro with the MRT in Sg, this is chalk and cheese, it will be years before the public transport system in Dubai is anywhere near efficient enough to be comparable. I tried public transport once in Dubai to travel from home to the office and it took three and a half hours for the same journey I do by car in forty minutes!

Ahh just comparing them on the basis that they are both "trains" and "public transport"..

Just wanted to point out the price monopoly they have here. I'm a born-and-bred Singaporean and the prices does justify a certain degree of efficiency but not efficient enough to handle commuters at peak hours. It is simply horrendous.

And I did not take into account the real-life efficiency of the Dubai Metro, for which I apologise, as I assumed the Dubai Metro was as good as the video said! =P

I am fully agree with you. RTA buy good buses and metro trains but manage them too silly. The situation with transport's definitely better than before, but it's still much worse than in Europe and Russia. I think this is just big mistakes from the unexperienced management like Indians and Arabs who never had good transport before. I am Russian and still think that even in this matters UAE has to consult Europeans, 'cause they have more experience in management

hey dude, dunno what you are talking about...I live in London and I can tell you that the Tube is light years backwards in every aspect...the Jubilee line is new and nice but nothing compared to what we see in this video. This is probably the best subway system in the world, both in technology and esthetics.

this is horrible i thought Dubai metro stations are going to be much better than that at least compatible in terms of style and finish, safety and connection to it surrounding, to other big cities we like to compare Dubai to please check jubilee line underground ,canary wharf station in London that's is a new millennium station and its surrounding area and many other new DLR stations and jubilee stations, that's what Dubai new light rail and underground system should be like, it is disappointing

Agreed. They are apparently adding more than just the red and green lines. Also, I think that the VIP thing is just for show. Dubai's metro system seems very luxurious so people will want to ride it, unlike New York's

Do you have any idea about New York metro? From the movies? The dubai metro is beautiful, but not practical. It's too slow. For two month people will have interest in it, but after it will be for tourists only. In 10 million populated Moscow metro carries 10 million daily, because it's very practical and fast and the stations decoration is much more beautiful and luxurious.
