First of all, Mr. Tiahrt you've got a very personable and charismatic speaking style. I like that :)
Some say that the bailouts are the magic ticket to fixing the economy, but they aren't thinking about what's happening. How do we get that money to bailout companies? We print more money, tax more, distribute needed money elsewhere, etc. All of those mean that we, the people, lose money and what money we have left is worth less because of the inflation caused by
That being said, we're where we are now because of the 80s Republican Presidents and Bush. Look back at which presidents drove us further and further into debt. you see a little democrat debt increase here an there..some small republican debt increase then you hit Reagan and BAMMO. the number skyrockets
. Then Bush comes to office and BAMO it skyrockets again. Then Clinton takes office and it finally starts to level out. Then BAMO W Bush takes office and BAMMO it skyrockets even more than it did under Reagan.
This problem is a Republican-caused problem. So It's very annoying hearing Republicans complaining about the Democrat administration making an attempt to fix it. Let's face it...THIS is better than nothing, which is exactly what was happening over the last 8 years.
That beign said, I want them gone too (I can disagree, cuz my party didn't cause this mess)
. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone thinks it's the government's job to bailout, prop up, fix, etc. private companies. Let them fail. Let them die. Let them be replaced by something better. Let their failure show to the competition that "you had better fix your sorry ass, or we'll let you fail."
