I just saw this on "worlds wildest police videos" I was almost 100% sure the gunmen mowed down civilians after the sniper took out the glass and the flashbang was tossed. They was just some Viet who went to the goodguys store to buy some audio, but felt discriminated by the sales rep so they came back and hold goodguys hostage and kill the rep who verbally attack them at first, when the SWAT came from the top of the building, the viet started to shoot at everyone, all the viet died except 1, that's y hollywood is doing a movie about this, goolge the movie.

Believe it or not, this was probably the best possible outcome to the crisis. The demands the hostages had were irrational (demanding a helicopter), and even though the gunman starts shooting hostages at :46-:48, none of those hostages hit were killed, and I think the only severe injury among them was a man who now has a permanent limp. Plus, they had no choice to shoot because an employee acting as a liasion between the cops and hostage takers said that executions were about to begin.

Police and SWAT knew they had for gunmen. One in the front by the door and 3 farther back. The 2 SWAT cells made entry at the time the sniper shot was executed. The plan was to eliminate #4 at the door and the 2 SWAT cells would converge in a heal-toe shuffle to take out the remaining 3. The problem was the door and had it not caused the #4 gunman to just be injured, they might have been able to extinguish the other 3 without further hostage injury or loss. The gunmen excelerated the violence.
