  • need to know my building was damaged by another company that tore down a building connect to mine i had one appraisal this lawyer is saying i need another one and he chargiig me 3,000 dollars thats what the apprasal cost he say i dont believe him

  • I AM AN APPRAISER IN NJ. I HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR AMC'S FOR 30 YEARS. I WILL BE GENERALLY CERTIFIED SOON. HOWEVER, I WISH EVERYONE WOULD STOP COMPLAINING, IT'S A GREAT PROFESSION. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE MONEY THEN GO FOR TAX APPEALS OR ERC WORK. THERE IS A TON OF WORK OUT THERE. THE BEST PART IS IF YOU HAVE THE GUTTS TO BUY PROPERTY. WE ARE IN THE BEST POSITION TO DO THAT. I DID IT AND MADE ALOT OF MONEY.

  • One of the major AMCs is now charging borrowers $625 for apraisals and paying the appraisers $190. This is the same company that has offshored their "administrative" reviews to India, which cost them around $4.

Now that it is commonplace for expensive metro areas to have appraisers coming in from 100-150 miles away, we can rest assured that the reviewers in India will "catch" all errors and omissions made by the geographically incompetent appraisers.

  • I'm an appraiser in New Mexico. Prior to HVCC I had more than a dozen regular customers. I now have only (1) because I refuse to work w/ AMC's that set my pay structure. HVCC has been the worst thing for appraisers, home owners and lenders. Most of the brokers I used to work for are now out of business. WTF? I thought the FInancial Reform bill was supposed to fix this- NOPE!

  • RELS, and LSI are two of the biggest Appraisal Management Companies, and guess who owns them. LSI is owned by B of A, and RELS is owned by Wells Fargo.

The banks did it again, they figured out a ways of stealing the fruits of someone else hard work.

The fox really is guarding the henhouse.

  • SouthlandAppraisersUnion com make a difference

  • Thank you!

  • Very well said. I would add you've seen a 25-40% reduction in fees in the orders you get and a 100% reduction in fees for the appraisal requests going to some low bidding competitor. Hang in there and good luck.
