Sadly, everyone, The Vampire Lestat will NOT HAPPEN :(... Thanks to the dumb, failure of producers and cast of the 2002 Queen of the Damned film... Anne has said it ruined many chances of the Vampire Chronicles ever being rebooted to big screen and following up with Interview. This is a sad day for REAL VAMPIRE MYTHOLOGY LOVERS as Anne Rice's books were amazingly written and meant for this Vampire Hype the world is experiencing, just wish the Vampires were dark and not sex symbols like Twilight.

@dragonofthedarknight oh I completely agree, Lestat beging compared to Edward, I almost pissed my pants, they could not be more diffent, Lestat a Killer, who likes to kill, and is a Vampire, who does not sparkle, who loves death, loves blood, and very full of life even though dead, Edward, Sparlking vampire, not a vamprie who does not drink blood, who is emo!!!, who always has a face of hurt, who sucks really bad, TEAM LESTAT all the WAY.

I hope Tom Cruise reprises his role in the future film adaptation of The Vampire Lestat, as of August 2009--Anne has said that her agents are working with studios to reboot the series and universal pictures is up for it. Stuart Townsend as Lestat in Queen of the Damned was pure pathetic! The man had no acting skills and basically he should have turned the role down...Tom Cruise as Lestat FOREVER!

it`s funny how when you read the book "Lestat" you`re struggling to imagine him as tom cruise because he was so awesome in "interview with a vampire" and all you can see is that dickhead-rockstar-Lestat from Queen of the damned wich is a fucking waste of time. This is the best vampire movie ever made.

@ZeekFlo I fucking agree with you! I read Interview With The Vampire and throughout the reading I kept thinking of Tom Cruise, and then, when i moved to the Vampire Lestat...UGH! That Townsend guy pretty much ruins the imagination.

@emeela89, Anne Rice, the author, was saying, and I quote: "You get to Antonio Banderas who walks into the movie and he's, you know, suddenly, you know he takes over the screen. So I thought they were all wonderful." Then Antonio's following partial quote is: "We were talking pretty much about what is the life of a guy who may be able to live that amount of time, and, and if you start thinking about it you have to recreate a whole entire world around you. And it was very, very difficult..."

there is no other movie that depicts the beauty and the vulnerable nature of vampires as well as this one - it's the most romantic depiction of vampires ever seen on screen

the twilight movie is sucky, this is true, but Robert Pattinson actually can act, u can see his talents in the other movies such as Little Ashes, he did a great job in it, but I can't see his talents in the Twilight movies... :(

The first book is Louis's biased version of the story. Louis cared for Lestat but hated him at the same time for giving him the dark gift. Louis hates taking human life so he blames Lestat for making him a vampire. Lestat was never an evil creature. He loved Louis as well as Claudia. These are all in book 2, "the vampire lestat"

This is a great behind the scenes segment; too bad the rest isn't also posted! I have a VHS tape boxed up somewhere w/ a taped making of IWTV aired on MTV right before the film was released w/ commentary from Neil Jordan, Tom, Brad, Christian & Kirsten. When I find the tape, hopefully I'll soon be able to upload it here, as no one seems to have done that already. I'm sure it will be wildly popular. I haven't watched it for years, but recall certain parts clearly, so it sure made an impression.

Let's see, Edward only gives you one reason to like him and it's a pretty shallow reason. Louis on the other hand is a beauty that imprints himself into your mind because he has more than that physical beauty emanating from him

Yup, i totally agree with you. Twilight is like, not only about vampires but about love and bla bla bla. Interview with a vampire is totally awesome, cause it's like THE REAL THING!
