These videos make me sad..........I lost my older brother in 2008 to a heroin overdose and he didnt live in a shack or the streets,he worked everyday of his life and never missed work and he was a foreman of his job and was found on the bathroom floor with his fist still balled up and dead at his job...I did things when I was younger but never never put a neddle in my arm.This ia a very bad bad bad drug...not that any are good.It just makes me sad.RIP big brother.

@xXrelitethefuryXx Actually I have OD'd on Marijuana years ago. Smoked so much in such a short period of time I actually went unconcious for 12 hours from the Over Dose of THC in my system. So yes, I technically OD's on Marijuana.
And I would not say it is any less dangerous to the body than alcohol, it just attacks the lungs primarily while alcohol attacks the Liver primarily. But both cause damage to brain tissue over long term use.

@xXrelitethefuryXx You are wrong with your terminology: Overdosing does not mean "DYING" Over Dosing simply means a person has taken too much of a drug to the point where it causes danger to the person, often to the point of unconciousness or in the worst case Cardiac Arrest (stopping of the heart) Many people OD and survive.
THC is a drug that our bodies are not designed to process. The "High" you get from smoking it is your body rejecting it and trying to eject it.

I've had two friends who've developed mental illness after years of smoking weed. And yes, I know that the genetic predisposition has to be there for that kind of thing to happen, but it was stil triggered by smoking lots of weed. I myself occasionally smoke, but I've really been preferring to just get high on life these days.
Reasonably wise words but after 41 years on this earth, plenty of time spent in and around the UK rave scene in the late 80's/early 90's, 3 kids, 10 years working with teenagers, I would say respect your drug of choice and stay away coke, crack, meth and heroin - everyone is different my friend - we all have different tolerances and different things that make us 'tick' - and always be well informed about what you are doing and eat well everyday :)

I was a crack addict 20 years ago. For 2 years my life sucked. Worse feeling I have ever felt and never want to go back to it. The addiction made me break in homes and actually thinking of killing people for money to feed my addiction. I managed to hold onto my job and decide ENOUGH. I need to quit! The first 6 months were freaking hard and years later it got easier to stay off it and now I do not not even get an urge when the drug is mentioned.. Did it cold Turkey and wish all to do the same.
@sarabower1 I'm on methadone now and have been for the past 5 years. Heroin took control of my hole life. All of my energy went towards trying to get the $ to pay for it, looking for someone who had it. For the last 2 years I was on it I wasn't concerned with getting "high", all I wanted to do was feel normal.
Withdrawls from heroin are horrible and there's nothing like it ( except going cold turkey off methadone which I'd rather chew my own arm off than go through)

Heroin actually isn't neurotoxic, it's the lung and heart depression that allow the overdose to kill you. You're body also releases indigenous opiates all the time, they are a chemical part of your brain along with a lot of other drugs in small amounts. You can get addicted to anything if you rely on it to make you feel better, people don't end up addicts in 1 month, it takes years and years of abuse to become truely addicted to the substance.
i don't think its the drug that kills you, more the lifestyle people on heroin, they're not violent, they're tranquil, they're calm introspective, drugs like morphine and heroin are very pure but the substances used to cut them on the street usually do more harm then the drug itself to ones internal organs, if you were to say have a shot of morphine every 12 hours or something hospital grade supervised clean opiates you'd probebly live a long happy life, i know i would.
opiates preserves the the body of the user.. make some research. the reason its so destructive is because of the lifestyle that comes with it.only reason opiates can directly kill you is because of overdoses it makes you stop breathing. media only shows people that are homeless and addicted to heroin that have no life. i know many persons that use opiates everyday and have been doing so for years and they all have good jobs and a great life.

@daspense None of the above. Athough your suggesting those possibilities does raise a further point. The potential for those things to happen also makes pot inherently unsafe. Tbh I'm not bothered if pot were to be properly regulated and sold solely to adults. I would just continue to not use it. I do object to people who actively encourage other people to use it.

@daspense Yeah man I agree that pot isn't nearly the demon it's been made out to be, but it's also not harmless either. I've had two friends who've developed mental illness after years of smoking weed. And yes, I know that the genetic predisposition has to be there for that kind of thing to happen, but it was stil triggered by smoking lots of weed. I myself occasionally smoke, but I've really been preferring to just get high on life these days.

Reasonably wise words but after 41 years on this earth, plenty of time spent in and around the UK rave scene in the late 80's/early 90's, 3 kids, 10 years working with teenagers, I would say respect your drug of choice and stay away coke, crack, meth and heroin - everyone is different my friend - we all have different tolerances and different things that make us 'tick' - and always be well informed about what you are doing and eat well everyday :)

I was a crack addict 20 years ago. For 2 years my life sucked. Worse feeling I have ever felt and never want to go back to it. The addiction made me break in homes and actually thinking of killing people for money to feed my addiction. I managed to hold onto my job and decide ENOUGH. I need to quit! The first 6 months were freaking hard and years later it got easier to stay off it and now I do not not even get an urge when the drug is mentioned.. Did it cold Turkey and wish all to do the same.

@sarabower1 I'm on methadone now and have been for the past 5 years. Heroin took control of my hole life. All of my energy went towards trying to get the $ to pay for it, looking for someone who had it. For the last 2 years I was on it I wasn't concerned with getting "high", all I wanted to do was feel normal.
Withdrawls from heroin are horrible and there's nothing like it ( except going cold turkey off methadone which I'd rather chew my own arm off than go through)

Heroin actually isn't neurotoxic, it's the lung and heart depression that allow the overdose to kill you. You're body also releases indigenous opiates all the time, they are a chemical part of your brain along with a lot of other drugs in small amounts. You can get addicted to anything if you rely on it to make you feel better, people don't end up addicts in 1 month, it takes years and years of abuse to become truely addicted to the substance.

i don't think its the drug that kills you, more the lifestyle people on heroin, they're not violent, they're tranquil, they're calm introspective, drugs like morphine and heroin are very pure but the substances used to cut them on the street usually do more harm then the drug itself to ones internal organs, if you were to say have a shot of morphine every 12 hours or something hospital grade supervised clean opiates you'd probebly live a long happy life, i know i would.

@stevenh915 I did very little of it back in the 1970's but many of my friends never could control their addictions,I was lucky and mostly smoked dope took some LSD and pills.My brother was strung out forever and died 4 years ago at 51 from his liver giving out from Hep.The doctors told me how they had a hard time finding any veins on him from all the years of use.My best friend blew his head off with a shotgun,the only way he could find a way out at the time.Your right never forget.
